FastAndFuriousParticipantSyracuse
Lost to Notre Dame 67-58

jeff416ParticipantIt happens… I still think they have a good shot to win the championship this year though.

FastAndFuriousParticipantYea I agree…..Along with Kentucky,Kansas,Baylor,Duke and UNC.
Sleeper Mizzou
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/21/2012 - 3:57pm #627464

Dale WorthingtonParticipantNot surprised at all.
Cuse has nothing in the post.
Duke IMO has no chance at winning it with their horrid PG play. Seth Curry can shoot but he can’t man the point to save his life.
As matter of fact, I would be shocked if Duke made it past the Sweet Sixteen. However, the tournament committe will probably give them the softest region like they usually do.
The funny thing is that Florida, Mississippi State, UNLV, and Louisville are all ranked considerably lower than Duke in the top 25 yet all have considerably stronger chances of reaching the Final Four due to a bettter distribution of talent throughout the point, wing, and post.

Dale WorthingtonParticipantI don’t understand how you can call Mizzou a sleeper either.
They’re 1 of the 4 best teams in the nation (despite not having the sexy 5-star recruits).
How is that a sleeper?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/21/2012 - 4:02pm #627466

Dale WorthingtonParticipantFWIW, if the brackets came out today, Missouri would be a 1-seed.
They’re not sneaking up on anyone.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/21/2012 - 4:04pm #627467

FastAndFuriousParticipantThat’s why I listed Duke, they always seem to find a way, whether the team gels at the right time or the region they’re placed in is weak.
And Mizzou is a great team, I just don’t think they could beat UK,UNC,Kansas, or Syracuse.
And if I had to pick four teams to win the Final Four Mizzou wouldn’t be one of them, that’s why I got them as a sleeper tho, in the right region they could win in, but if they see one of those teams I think they get eliminated.
But Mizzou plays Kansas soon so we will see.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/21/2012 - 4:08pm #627468

Dale WorthingtonParticipantI don’t like Mizzou in a matchup with UK and UNC b/c of those two teams’ length and athleticism but I would be comfortable taking Mizzou over anyone else, anytime, anywhere.
Why’d you omit Ohio State btw?
Playmaker and elite defender Aaron Craft at the point, versatile wings in Buford and Thomas, and the best banger in the land in Big Sully.
Ohio State’s got as good a chance as anyone out there.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/21/2012 - 4:11pm #627469

Dale WorthingtonParticipantP.S., Mizzou would slice through Syracuse’s 2-3.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/21/2012 - 4:14pm #627472

FastAndFuriousParticipantI don’t think Ohio State could beat UK,UNC,Mizzou and they’ve already lost to Kansas, they wouldn’t be a top 4 team either.
Mizzou is not a top 4 team to me either.
For instance Mizzou went to the wire with Baylor and got smacked by Kansas State.
While Kansas smacked both of those teams easily.
Mizzou ranking looks good, but I don’t think they are a top 4 team to win the NCAA title, they’re good but not what your making them seem.
They’ve only played 4 top 25 teams(3-1) which could easily be(1-3) beating Baylor by one point, beating Illinois by only 4 points and losing to Kansas State.
Only beat a struggling Villinova team by 10, beat Old Dominon by 7, beat Iowa state by 7 as well.
They’re good, but they run into the right team come tourney time you will see they’re not as good as you think they are.

FastAndFuriousParticipantO yea Kansas knocked off Ohio State while they were #2 at the time as well my dude.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/21/2012 - 4:18pm #627477

Dale WorthingtonParticipantSMH
Ohio State didn’t have Sullinger at Kansas. That kind of matters. Just a bit.
And Duke, who you said could win the Championship, got murdered by guess who…
…Ohio State.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/21/2012 - 4:20pm #627478

FastAndFuriousParticipantWell we can play the mix and match game all day lol but I will keep Mizzou out of the top 4 teams that can win a championship until I see otherwise.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/21/2012 - 4:24pm #627481

Dale WorthingtonParticipantYou can’t discredit a team for losing to another team ON THE ROAD WITHOUT THEIR BEST PLAYER AND A TOP 5 PICK. That is illogical son.
The Kansas win over Ohio State means diddly squat since Sully wasn’t there.
Funny thing is that if Sully plays, they win.
Meanwhile, in your original post, you’d have replaced Kansas with Ohio State.
You have to evaluate teams objectively and that means dissecting the resumes and the individual talent.
Ohio State is a better team and more well-rounded than KU.
If they played each other in a best of 5 on a neutral floor with SULLY PLAYING then Ohio State comes out on top.
Going off of one game with the above circumstances doesn’t make any sense.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/21/2012 - 4:25pm #627482

Dale WorthingtonParticipantAnyone who thinks Sullinger out doesn’t make a difference is delusional.
Is he there come tourney time.
Yes.
Therefore, they’re a top 5 team, and better equipped to win it all than KU.
Have fun with KU and their 2-man team. They’re not going far either.

FastAndFuriousParticipantHey lol you turned this into a whole nother topic, my whole point is this:
Doesn’t matter if it’s Ohio State,UK,UNC,Kansas
Syracus,Kansas,Baylor,UK
No matter what 4 teams are picked for the championship Mizzou is not a top 4 threat to win it all, they’re good, but not top 4 threat good, that’s the whole argument my man.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/21/2012 - 4:35pm #627488

Dale WorthingtonParticipantAight. I feel ya now.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/21/2012 - 4:50pm #627492
aamir543ParticipantNo one has even mentioned that Fab Melo has been out the past two game. If they get him back by tourny time, I think they’ll be fine.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/21/2012 - 4:52pm #627493

Dale WorthingtonParticipantFab Melo isn’t even good. You’d think the McDonald’s All-American hype would have worn off by now.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/21/2012 - 4:56pm #627495

FastAndFuriousParticipantFab Melo is averaging 3 blocks per game, I don’t think Mizzou would be slicing any 2-3 zone with him down there buddy lol.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/21/2012 - 5:02pm #627496

providencefriars1ParticipantMelo is much much improved, but anyway the championship race is literally wide open and this will defintely be one of the hardest brackets ever to fill out.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/21/2012 - 5:21pm #627502

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantThey were wihtout him for the first time give them a break
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/21/2012 - 5:23pm #627503

Dale WorthingtonParticipantMissouri plays 4 guards, they have excellent ball movement, they’re quick, and they don’t turnover the ball.
If Melo were to ever get in their way (with his phenomenal agility and 6.7 40 time) they would just kick it out to one of their other guards.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/25/2012 - 6:41pm #628802

FastAndFuriousParticipantHaha what happen to ya "BIG TIME" Missouri boys Dale?
Told you bro, they good but not that good.
