The8thDeadlySinParticipantNets are going to offer up Lopez.. Will it work?
They are going to have to take a bad contract with Howard so it could look something like this.
Magic get:
Lopez
M. Brooks
2 1st round picks
other fillersNets get:
Howard
Turk or ArenasAlso, the Nets have said that Outlaw is going to get the teams amnesty..

C_MoneyParticipantI heard that the Nets are willing to take the contract of Turkoglu. That opens up Arenas for amnesty but it completely depletes Orlando’s roster. I couldn’t see then winning 25 games with the pieces that they have left if this happens.

FellyBaby905Participantnets already gave utah a bunch of picks…..they probably dont have any for a couple years…..why would you trade howard for picks that will essentially be late first rounders

WrecklessParticipantIm not sure, but in the old CBA I know that you cant trade you first rd pick two years in a row. Does anyone know if the rule has changed? & If so this deal becomes slightly less interesting.

HitsterParticipantIs the Lopez offer any better than the Bynum offer I wonder apart from Lopez will be on his rookie deal for this season and they could maybe resign him for less than Bynum currently gets. But Lopez might not want to resign with Orlando and could take a one year qualifying deal and move on.
Maybe if Orlando do think that Dwight will opt out and move on they try and offer him an extension and effectively do what the Nuggets did when they moved Melo for a reasonable package last season.
If Orlando could shift Turko as part of the deal and then amnesty Arenas, they would be threadbare but would have the cap in order and maybe a shot at Andre Drummond next summer.

OhCanada-ParticipantBest trade available for Orlando, one of the best places Howard can go is to play with Deron Williams in Brooklyn as well. The only problem with that is the Nets will have a base of Williams, Howard, and nothing else. Complete nothingness. Anthony Morrow, Johan Petro, Damien James and Jordan Farmar would also be on the roster. The Nets would bewise to pursue a player like Shannon Brown to fill that SG role, and or Jeff Green for the SF role and fill up a bit of that depth issue.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantNETS
PG – Deron Williams
SG – Anthony Morrow
SF – Hedo Turkoglu
PF – Kris Humphries
C – Dwight Howard
I wouldn’t say the Nets have "complete nothingness." Morrow is one of the best shooters in the league and the type of guy you absolutely need when you have a center that will occasionally be double teamed. If you look past Turokglu’s contract (which the Nets are willing to do) he’s still an effective all-around player with great experience. Humphries is an excellent rebounder/defender/energy guy. They won’t be a championship contender but I’d give them close to 50 wins. With Dwight on board that team is much more talented than some of the teams Deron won 50 with in Utah.
MAGIC
PG – Jameer Nelson
SG – J.J. Redick
SF – Earl Clark?
PF – Brandon Bass
C – Brook Lopez
They’ll be bad but not abysmal. Ok, maybe really bad. But who cares? Once they amnesty Arenas, they’ll have slashed their payroll from $74 million to (Lopez + Brooks – $4M, Howard + Turkoglu $28.4M Arenas $19.3M) to $31 million, they’ll be in the hunt for a top 5 pick of their own plus they’ll have 2 picks from the Nets.

TallmanNYCParticipantI don’t think this is the best deal that the Magic will be offered, but I can’t believe people don’t think that team wouldn’t be pretty good. If you have the best center in the league and a PG that everyone ranks no worse than sixth at his position, you’ve got a contender. Howard is in his prime and Williams is still kind of young. That team should have a multi-year window.

joecheck88ParticipantWe have to keep in mind teams have to spend 85% of the salary cap, Orlando would be well below that if they traded Howard & Turk and used their amnesty on Arenas. So I don’t know if it works.
If the trade did work, New Jersey would be betterthan Orlando ever was. So whoever said NJ would be building around just Howard and Williams is crazy. Humphries is atleast as good as Ryan Anderson was. Williams is wayy better than Jammer Nelson. Turk would still be there and Morrow is atleast as good as Reddick. NJ would be a force. You are always a contender with Dwight Howard.

Bmore_DCParticipanti still think the clippers will have the best offer…with so many young players, expiring contracts, and top picks…if im orlando, im looking towards LA

Im Your FatherParticipantI really do hope that Williams and Howard play together in Brooklyn. They would complement each other’s games so well. Williams would definitely get D12 a ton of easy baskets.
