The8thDeadlySinParticipantLast year, after the playoffs, the Celtics made this offer to the Thunder and they immediatly turned it down…
Thunder get:
Jeff Green
Rajon RondoCeltics get:
Kendrick Perkins
Russel WestbrookHow do you all feel about that??

aamir543ParticipantI feel like Ainge got bored and was just screwing around. We all know there is no way that the Thunder would EVER take that trade.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantI was suprised they gave up Perkins(who I don’t think is great but provided them a Bruiser and defensive identity)…but to try to trade back Jeff Green and think they could get the Thunder to swap Westbrook for Rondo is amazing…I really wish we had more of these types of offers come to light…It shows the absolute genuis level moves these GM’s try to attempt…It is genuis though really…call Thunder’s team GM after a tough playoff exit , and amidst the media rumblings of Westbrook/Durant chemistry questions offer them fimilar face Jeff Green and All Defensive pg Rajon Rondo…when I think about it on the surface it sound’s reasonable, but then there is the Huge Question of Rondo’s health and Jeff Green’s Free Agency…although I think Rondo’s deal and Green resigning could come cheaper than Westbrook for the Max and Perkins at a steep price too…
when I think about, It makes sense…If the Thunder got more back than Green and Rondo it could actually work…Just seems too risky to pull off…

RUDEBOY_ParticipantAt the trade deadline, when i 1st heard they were trading Perkins i thought it was a joke…
Rondo better fits their 3 stars than Westbrook does..But with all those guys entering the end of the careers..Adding a go to guy like Westbrook, isnt a bad idea…

iminipandaParticipantThat would be a filthy defensive backcourt with Rondo and Thabo. KD is decent defense and add in a hustle man like Collison and Perk? That is a great defensive lineup.

Anton123ParticipantIf they had Rondo they would surely start Harden, I mean the offense has to come from someone except for Durant, nevertheless Rondo-Harden-Durant-Ibaka-Perkins is a great defensive lineup too

OhCanada-ParticipantYou guys might not notice this but Rondo has a very large amount of flaws in his game. He misses free throws, he is not strong, he cannot shoot at all, he ignores coaches and teammates at times, and is extremely bashful/cocky. I am not trying to take anything away from him by any means, he makes up for his weakness’s directly through his strengths. Although I would much rather have Westbrook on my team, his talent range is much wider then Rondo’s. The only thing we can say bad about Westbrook is he got too ball dominant, was extremely turnover prone and took too many shots. he is still arguably the most explosive PG, the best defending PG, and obviously the heart and soulof OKC along with Durant.
The main difference between Rondo and Westbrook is while both players have been able to improve while entering the league Westbrook has been able to improve on his weakness’s, Rondo has not.
Westbrook>Rondo anyday.

OhCanada-ParticipantWestbrook is just as good a defender as Rondo…

TyroberParticipantI want Westbrook over Rondo and I want Perkins over Green…. so no 🙂

FastAndFuriousParticipantYes, I agree with everything you say, but I dont think Rondo is weak, he came in the NBA at 161, dude is def in the 180-185 range and for a 6-0 PG thats a nice size, he just isnt bulky because his body fat is extremly low about 6-7% I think he is rather strong now, but I would take Westbrook anyday

Anton123ParticipantOhCanada – sure Westbrook is a more all-around complete player than Rondo, but I do believe that OKC doesn’t really need his all-aroundness, they need a pass-first guard to go along with Durant and Harden. While Westbrook has shown the ability to pass well, he can’t do it nearly as well as Rondo and doesn’t really want to do it either.
Westbrook might be the better player but I believe Rondo would be more valuable to OKC
