Another day, another hilarious excerpt from Shaq’s new book. I expect this to continue until the tome comes out, and quite possibly even after that. Which is fine by me. The Boston Globe has the parts about O’Neal’s adventures as a Celtic: “On the West Coast swing in January, Shaq wanted to get off against the Lakers, but he said even though he was getting good position under the basket, Glen Davis wouldn’t pass him the ball. ‘Big Baby’ Davis kept looking me off and taking it himself. Doc is shouting at him to go inside, but he won’t. So Doc calls timeout and draws up a play for me. I go out there, and I back Andrew Bynum way under the rim. I’m loose, I’m ready. I’ve got Bynum under the basket and again, Baby won’t give me the ball. So I go up to him and say, ‘If you ever miss me again I’m going to punch you in the face.’ I was hot. Two nights later we’re playing in Sacramento and here we go again. I take three shots the entire game and again I’ve got my man isolated underneath the basket, and Baby ignores me and takes a jump shot. So the next time we’re in the huddle I let Baby have it. I tell him, ‘Pass the [expletive] ball inside.’ He [comes] back at me a little bit and now I’m really heated. All hell is breaking loose. We’re going back and forth. Doc is standing there and he’s not saying a word. The message is pretty clear: work this out yourselves. I tell Baby, ‘You’re a selfish player. Everyone on this team knows it.’ Hey, all the fans knew it. He takes shots when he shouldn’t’”

I really want to read this book too! It’s real interesting from what I’ve heard so far, like his feud with Kobe, how Mike Brown never called out LBJ and now this Glen Davis.

You ought to think Glen Davis would smarten out with KG and Pierce around, but he is still that selfish player still with Shaq there! Glad he’s calling him out.

Shaq’s book is coming out but this is messed up that he would put all this stuff out.  I mean what happens on a team should be handled then and there.  Also in college a 6’2" player whipped up on Shaq.  This guy probaby has some size to him at that height but still.  Shaq has done a lot of stuff to piss people off so he may deserve a lot of hate and stuff he got.

I respect Shaq as a player but he can’t act like he did not do his dirt too.  Trying to come out all innocent is kind of cowardly.

I don’t have a problem with Shaq writing a book. Phil Jackson did.

As a fan, I can’t wait to read what Shaq has seen with his own eyes. One thing about Shaq that I love is that he’s always honest and straight forward.

shaqs other autobigraphy he wrote he ripped everyone. SOme entertaining stuff. He doesnt hold back. Ripped on kobe for being a ball hog, said elden campbell had no balls and was soft, eddie jones was a choker at the end of games, said kurt rambis was fake with guys, van exel was a quitter, i mean the list goes on, he doesnt hold back in his books.

    "Phil Jackson did."

Yes, but Phil Jackson doesn’t fake himself and act cool with everybody.  He’ll tell you like it is to your face, to the media, and in his books.  Shaq is not that way, he acts like a friend and once he’s gone, he talks.

It’s sad to see a legendary player stoop to this low a level time and time again.
