Talor Battle puts in 23 in Euroleague qualifier, others from 2011 draft class debut

Austin Daye and Chris Quinn debuted for Khimki yesterday. Daye has the kind of performance where the check won’t clear (2-8 shooting, 8 points, 5 rebounds), but Mozgov also put in 5 and 5. 

2012-classman Furkan Aldemir debuted with Galatasaray and had 11 points and 9 rebounds in a manhandling of PAOK. They also have Darius Songaila, Josh Shipp, and Jamon Gordon. You know the Greek economy is in the tanks when PAOK has to employ Martynas Andriuskevicius. It is sad really.

Laker pick Chinemelu Elonu had 20 points and 11 rebounds for Pau-Lacq-Orthez. More amazingly, only 2 fouls in 31 minutes but Mr. Swatty didn’t have any blocks. Mustafa Shakur had 14 points, 7 assists, and 6 rebounds. They beat Hyeres-Toulon of Alexis Ajinca fame who debuted a lanky 6’10 French teen named Louis Labeyrie. He had 6 points, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks, 4 fouls, and 4 turnovers in 27 minutes. My heart is a flutter with the possibility of another foul prone and turnover prone shot blocking big man entering the basketball world. Nicolas Batum played with Nancy and put in 17 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds. I guess Blazer fans can feel good about it, but then they’d have to overlook the Akin Akingbala going for 21 points and 11 rebounds for the same team. Also in the odd stud file, Trent Meacham had 7 points, 10 assists, and 6 rebounds alongside Jawad Williams going for 19 points and 5 rebounds for Paris-Levallois. 76er Lavoy Allen had 10 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 fouls in 23 minutes. Kyle Singler and Jeremy Hazell debuted for Lucentum Alicante. Hazell had 8 points in 19 minutes. Singler had 23 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists in 34 minutes.

Ben Hansbrough had 4 points on 2-6 shooting and 3 assists for Bayern Munich. Buck pick Jon Leuer had 13 points on 3-10 shooting and 9 rebounds for the Fraport Skyliners.
