paradigmnParticipantNice find man….kid looks smooth….especially for a 14 year old.
Apparently he was tearing up the Australian 16U junior championships in July and caught allot of rave reviews from his performance there.
Plus…that soundtrack….I was digging the old school vibe with the video.

moochieeParticipantHe’s unreal for a 14 year old. If this isn’t just a case of someone peaking early, and he keeps progressing physically, and of course skills wise, he will be scary good.

omphalosParticipantThe only thing I worry about with this kid is a lack of competition allowing him to coast. Being described as "a boy amongst men" at 6’6" is worrying, because it doesn’t look like he’ll get a whole lot taller.
That said, I just checked his pedigree and his father Dave Simmons is a naturalised American import who was playing professionally. Having that background with the US will serve him well in getting the attention of colleges and a possible scholarship.
I also read that his dad encourages him to experiment with fancy moves on occasion, which I agree can be a good thing in learning better body control beyond the fundamentals. At just 14, he’s very impressive, but it remains to be seen whether he can produce against superior competition.

omphalosParticipant@beerandhiphop: fairly certain Australia had a number one draft pick not too long ago. Or doesn’t that qualify as a "big thing".

beerandhiphopParticipantBogut being picked first over Paul, Williams, Bynum or even people like granger and Ellis was a huge fuckup (not to say ellis or granger or even bynum warranted being a top pick) He’s real good for being not very good at all though I guess?

Seriously? Blatche’s 16.8 PPG on 44.5 FG%, 8.2 RPG and 0.8 BPG against Bogut’s 12.8 PPG on 49.5 FG%,11.1 RPG and 2.6 BPG. Bogut is a true center and force on the defensive end of the court while Blatche is a black hole option on offence and practically non-existant on defence.
