McDunkinD-Will: 18-4-3 in Besiktas LossOne day after being rested in an Italian exhibition series, Deron Williams returned to the court Saturday and had what for him has to be considered a mediocre game: in 35 minutes, he had 18 points on 5-for-13 shooting (1-for-6 from deep), 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 7 turnovers, five of them travels…a not uncommon call by FIBA refs.
In a tweet, D-Will wrote, "Bad game for the team didn’t play to well! I’m trying to get used to the international travel had 5 of them today
#whack". In an earlier response to Chase Budinger, he wrote, "happy to be playing basketball."Besiktas which won without Williams on Friday lost, 95-84, to Pistoia of Italy, a second string Italian League team. The tournament continues play tomorrow.
D-Will Loses Again, Blames RefsDeron Williams wasn’t too happy about his Besiktas team losing to Barca Tercas Teramo, 86-84, Sunday in the third place game of the Vasco Martini exhibition tournament. First of all, Teramo is led by his Illinois teammate, Dee Brown. He wasn’t crazy about the refereeing either.
He tweeted, "Italian refs was in full Tim Donaghy mode tonight but its all good! Ready to get back to Istanbul." D-Will scored 14 points on 5-for-20 shooting, grabbing 5 rebounds and handing out 10 assists. He’s spent one day in Istanbul since arriving Sept. 8, playing in two Italian tournaments.
He plays his first official European game, a EuroCup contest vs. a Belgian team, a week from Tuesday.

Farmar Getting Started in Tel Aviv
The Nets‘ three point guards are starting to get time on the court in what Europeans call "friendly", exhibition games usually against lesser talent. Deron Williams has already played two and Jordan Farmar got his first time on the court for Maccabi Tel Aviv Wednesday, going for 6 and 4 vs. Maccabi Haifa.
Maccabi Tel Aviv is one of Europe’s top teams while its rival up the coast in Haifa is a middling Israeli League team and it showed in the final score, an 88-63 victory for Tel Aviv. Farmar played limited meetings, but was credited with "some great plays" by the Tel Aviv team site, but was the subject of some implied ridicule on the Haifa site, which delighted in posting a video of him falling down trying to defend a crossover by Jeremy Wise.
