If I’m NY and I cannot get Wade or Lebron, I would wait and go hard for Carmelo in 2011. I’m sure the fans would hate another bad year, but I’m not sure any of those other guys are going to make my team into a championship contender. I think the way things are shaping up, a lot of guys are going to get max deals that don’t deserve them (i.e., Joe Johnson) and a guy like Bosh isn’t going to lead you to a championship.

I agree with what everyone is saying about Lee. Bosh is better, but not that much better. I just don’t see Lee as much of a priority for them unless everything else falls apart, even then I am pretty sure they will have to renounce his rights just to get the full capspace to go after two max guys. So the Knicks would have to stay under the cap to re-sign him. If they renounce his rights there goes the sign and trade scenario as well. I see Lee moving on. He’s been underpaid since he has been in the league. I think he will likely try to go somewhere where he can win and get paid better.
