TimbosliceParticipantWith the lockout now in full effect and no signs of a deal anytime soon, who will get lazy and pull a Shawn kemp and get so out of shape they can’t even get up and down the court?

WizardofOzParticipantHopefully not Andray Blatche. Dude was really out of shape last year.

mikeyvthedonParticipantHopefully nobody. If I had to guess, a lot of players are going to learn from the mistakes of past players and stay in game shape. The things that happened with Shawn Kemp and Vin Baker had to do with substance abuse and depression, so it was honestly kind of sad. Kemp especially, as he lost all his past explosiveness that made him truly special. He developed more of a mid-range game, but when the Reign Man could not even dunk anymore, it sucked.

ChrispyParticipantI always reference Fat Shawn when talking about ’98!! I think in general the players realize if they wish to have continued strong bargaining power they better not ask for a 7 mil average and report to camp 300 lbs. If I had to choose, though, I’m going for players with questionable work ethic and (possible) unseemly habits such as Michael Beasley. I could see him reporting a good 25 lbs overweight. He’s young enough to drop it quickly though. Maybe Boris Diaw? He already had a weight issue 2 years back, plus he is French which means cream sauce on everything…

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantI would laugh if Chris Bosh came back as 300 lbs. He thinks it would give him a better chance of still being mentioned in the BIG 3.

mikeyvthedonParticipantThe lockout did not help, but Shawn had signed his mega deal before than, and he was living it up. I think he struggled with drugs and alcohol big time. Than, I remember hearing they were having some charity game that Shawn played in during the lockout, where he was overweight, got winded and air balled two FT’s. I do not know of a player I am willing too say will be in horrible shape. You have the obvious ones like Baron Davis, Boris Diaw and such, but I think the times are different and that health is more in the fore front. I do not know of a star player who I see having problems with weight due to the lockout.

aamir543ParticipantLiek I have been saying for the past week, Baron Davis is half way there, so I expect Baron Davis to weigh about 100 pounds more than Corey Brewer, mark my words!
Also, Yao has been hurt for soooooo long, If he does retrun overwieght, I wouldn’t be surprised, but then again, its not completely his fault.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantHOPEFULLY Andray Blatche, lol. Dude is one of the biggest black holes in the league and they need to carve out playing time for Vesely and Singleton in the frontcourt.
Also, Baron Davis’ career might be over. He could weigh 275.

aamir543Participant@SammyBuckeye, Id put my money on 290. When Baron shows up to training, I could see Kyrie face light up, and call his dad and say, "Pops! I am gonna start, I am gonna start!" Then his dad says, "Coach named you the starter over BD already?" Then Kyrie says "No Baron Davis looks like he’s been living in a taco truck! I got the job!"

ghrghrParticipantI’m really concerned about Zach Randolph. The dude was in pretty good shape these last two seasons, but with all the free time he’ll have with the lockout and a huge contract I don’t know if he’ll be able to have the discipline to stay fit. He’s shown he has changed his ways, though.

aamir543ParticipantAdd your hip hop italian accent."Primo Pasta, makes you soft, takes away your abiliity to rebound and defend, but it quadruples your shooting ability! Yummy!" Danilo Galinari fits the bill too.

PrecociousNeophyteParticipantEddy Curry won’t be able to walk if the lockout extends over a long period of time.

aamir543Participant@PrecocoiusNeotype, hes played 10 games in 3 years, the Heat were going to sign him for their playoff push, but didn’t. They say he was 350 a couple months ago, the Heat are probably wishing he was 350. God knows whether hes almost hitting 450. Id say hes probably around 375, and with no motivation to even attempt to slim down, this is going to get ugly. And the HEAT wouldn’t sign him! The Heat! This is a guy who averaged 20 points a game once apon a time! He is still 28! If he can even give them 6 and 4 in 18 minutes I’d take it! I just hope he can put it back together, wasting all that god given talent……….

sheltwon3ParticipantYou know what if he could have given them 10 or 15 minutes, he could have help the Heat win. They needed a big body to throw in the post and eat up clock. That is the one thing he does. a big man like that would have helped them keep a 15 point lead.
