As a Kings fan i think this would be the ideal situation for them. I have heard a lot of local fans talking about how Parker just clogs up the lane and can’t distribute but I think he brings a ton of experience and could actually lead this team. Parker is only 29 and he would bring some much needed playoff experience as well as a new atmosphere to the Kings. Going to and watching games last year (actually the last couple years) the whole team just seems defeated. Even if we know we aren’t a championship caliber team we should play like it. Westphal hasn’t done a great job bringing that winning confidence to the Kings and hopefully a veteran player like Parker would help teach the young guys like Evans and Cousins.

I would rather go with a proven guy like Parker than take a flyer on guys like Kemba or Jimmer. Also this deal looks a lot better than the Felton trade (Felton 27 – Parker 29). The addition of Jefferson would at least give us something at the SF (even though his career and production have gone down significantly).

Let me know what you think about Parker vs. Felton vs. Kemba vs. Jimmer vs. Leonard… I think the Parker deal would be the best solution for this draft pick.

I think Jimmer is a good fit for Sac over leonard because you can switch guard slots with Jimmer and Evans. If Evans runs point..Jimmer can be a spot up shooter when the D collapses on Evans..and When Jimmer runs the point you can allow Evans to be a slasher/scorer rather than be more of a distributer…plus Jimmer can bring some much needed excitement to Sac…i dont think they wil take Jimmer but I think hes a good fit. and watching parker…he seemed to look like he was slowing down a lot last season where as Felton looked great (on the knicks) Id pull the trigger on parker I guess if you can get another young role player out of it

If I’m Sac, no way do I deal with Jefferson. Parker for 7? Fine. Done on both sides.

I posted earlier that I would love the Kings to send Beno, Whiteside, Casspi, and the seventh for Parker and Jefferson, but I am on the fence about it now…

The trade would obviously be great this next season, but I doubt Parker resigns with the Kings for another contract unless they make some serious noise next year. Meaning that if he left after a year the trade would look like you gave up Casspi and Kemba for Jefferson, that would not be good either financially or talent wise. You would also have to keep in mind that if you give the team that sort of a false record boost with Parker (false because it would only last for a season and not translate to when you would really need it), you would also be denying yourself a couple spots up in a draft that looks promising.

There will be alot of deals. Most of them we haven’t heard anything about, the ones we do hear about are most likely not gonna be done

right, Jefferson is dead weight…plus it seems unnecesary to throw Casspi in there. I don’t think he’s a starter in the league but he can be a real nice role player

BasketBalAllan – Tony Parker just signed a 4 yr/$50 million dollar extension last year. So the Kings would have him for the next 4 years.

I agree that Jefferson can be a headache but he is owed $30 million over the next 3 seasons and could become a cash dump in a couple years and maybe he can revitalize some sort of the athleticism he had in New Jersey. I know it’s a headache and a risk but if it gets Parker i’ll do it.

Parker has lost a step but would still be a significant upgrade over Beno. Also San Antonio also played a lot with Ginobli controlling the ball so Parker has some experience playing off the ball and would pair up nicely with Tyreke.

Jimmer or Kemba may turn out to be great but i would take Parker as more of a sure thing.

You are correct. For some reason when i looked up his salary it had not been updated since the extension.

In that Case I actually like the trade for the Kings. It adds experience at both positions and I think that even though Jefferson has a large contract he is still a step up from a vocally unhappy reserve.

Jefferson is washed up, and Parker isn’t with Longoria anymore.  Next.

…Then this deal is dead. I think the reason the Spurs want to move up is for Valanciunas. They are looking for some bigs for the future and if he is gone then i don’t know who else the Spurs would want.

Who knows if this deal is anymore than a far-fetched rumor, but if there are no bigs to be had at 7 then i don’t think the Spurs would even take a second glance…

Tomorrow is going to be exciting…

Tyreke evans seems to need the ball in his hands to be effective I dont think he would play well with Parker or Felton none them play off the ball well in my opinion.
