llperezlets hear them?
here are some of mine off the top of my head.
i think darko milicic is a solid starting center. Not great by any means, but worthy of his contract and could start for a handful of teams.
i think jordan hill will still develop into a darn good nba player worthy of being a top 10 lotto pick
i think orlando (having basically one year to impress howard) should allow arneas and hedo more freedom to get things going while telling nelson and reddick to kick rocks. Forget their bad contracts for a second those 2 can still ball
i think both jimmer and kemba fall out of the lotto. Pg’s are eaier to come by and i think teams will take risks on bigs and athletic freaks before traditional pg’s

rileymcshea3ParticipantJimmer Fredette will be a allstar in the future if selected by the Jazz
If the Jazz take Vessely and Fredette the will win the championship in 5 years
Brandon Knight will be a huge bust because he isnt even a good passer and a streaky shooter that doesnt score that much around the rim
Jonas Valanciunas will be the best player out of this draft in 5 years
Jeremy Tyler will be a solid player

sammybuckeye13Participant- With prototypical center size At 7-0/260 with 6.1% body fat and 7-4.5 wingspan — and a beautiful mid-range jumper, Euro feel for the game, developing post moves, and a good three years of NCAA experience — 20-year old Nikola Vucevic should be a top 10 pick.
- Mike Brown was a damn good hire. The Cavs had LeBron, sure, but if a coach makes the Finals, then two years later wing 66 GAMES, then 61 games, his hiring should not be questioned. Bron’s supporting cast in ’07 was Gooden, Hughes, Z and Boobie. In ’10, it was Mo Williams, Delonte West and Varejao. Remind me how many games Kobe and Wade won in their prime without sidekicks? That’s what I thought. Bravo, Lakers, you won’t regret it.
- Not including the playoffs, LaMarcus Aldridge was the 2nd best big man in the league last year. After averaging between 17.8-18.1 ppg for three straight years and appearing as if he would never fulfill his potential as the #2 pick, Aldridge exploded in an inspiring way. When Roy went down for what looked like might be a long time, Aldridge put the team on his back though, putting up 24.9/10.4 in January and 27.8/9.3 in February as he willed the Blazers from lottery likely in December to a team with even odds to beat the Mavs in the first round of the playoffs come mid April. I don’t see any reason why he won’t continue to play at a superstar level.

r377Participanti got a few negatives by saying mid-season that perry jones won’t go no 1 and brandon knight will go in the top 5. where are all those on the perry hype train now ?
i agree jordan hill will still be a decent player and darko ranks near the top in block shots – he isn’t that bad a player
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/19/2011 - 10:37pm #547455

DanEboyParticipantJimmer may give you 15 a night, but what else? I just don’t see him attacking the rim or being a playmaker in the NBA.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/19/2011 - 10:45pm #547457

rileymcshea3ParticipantWell DanEboy your wrong he had a faster agility time then Kemba so he should be able to attack the rim and get plenty of assist with Favors finishing around the rim or kicking it out to Gordan Hayward and averaging about 7 assist as a rookie and getting more and more by year. I also see him getting about 4 rebounds a night.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/19/2011 - 10:57pm #547461

DanEboyParticipantI would bet everything I own, and will ever own, that Jimmer doesn’t come close to averaging 7 assists per game next year. And no way will he be attacking the rim like he did in college. He will get his shot blocked a ton. Rose gets his shot blocked a bunch, but he is able to get up over people with his hops. Jimmer won’t be able to rely on that.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/19/2011 - 11:09pm #547465

BloodyCrumpetParticipant"averaging about 7 assist as a rookie and getting more and more by year. I also see him getting about 4 rebounds a night."
I think Jimmer is going to be a good player in the NBA, but this is just unrealistic.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/19/2011 - 11:17pm #547466
BigChamp12Participantsammy buckeye 13 i agree with all of your points %100
I thinnk Jimmer will turn out to be a decent star in the NBA. He is not as unathletci as people think. Plus he is smart, has handles and an amazing shot. Jordan Hill is surely going to be a good post player for the league. And eventhough he is still one of the worst picls in NBA history, Darko is probably the 10th best center in the league right now.
Im not sold on Hedo Turkoglu anymore. He isnt that good. But I think Van Gundy had got to let Gilbert get loose this year because he can easily average 20 a game alongside Dwight dominating and J Rich and Reddick knocking down tons of shots
0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/19/2011 - 11:19pm #547467
BigChamp12ParticipantOne opinion I have that I know will get a negative is that Kevin Durant is not a top 5 player in the NBA and he actually didn’t hold his own in the playoffs this year.

providencefriars1ParticipantMy Bold Prediction, top 5 players of this draft when it is all said and done
Jordan Hamilton
Tristan Thompson
Klay Thompson
Derrick Williams
Jan Vesely
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/20/2011 - 12:49am #547479
B-ball fanParticipantDerrick Williams will be an all star 4, but will be exposed at the three, where he lacks quickness, certain perimeter skills, and advanced ball handling ability.
Jimmer Fredette will be a better playmaker in the NBA than Walker or Knght.
Darius Morris will be unable to find significant playing time at any point in the near future in the NBA.
DeMarcus Cousins will get big stats throughout his career, but will almost never play for a winning team. He has a bad attitude on the court and is overrated on offense because he takes a lot of bad shots.
Ditto for Andray Blatche.
The Kings will never make the playoffs built around Tyreke and Cousins.
Dwight Howard is the most important player to his team in the NBA. Without him, the Magic would be the worst team in the league.
The Miami Heat will win a championship next year, and will make only minor personnel changes in the off-season.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/20/2011 - 1:00am #547481
BoomshakalakaParticipantThis would usually get negative points
I think that Kobe should be come a full time PG because his ability to score on people at will is going but his ball handling and creativity is still there. At PG he would cause alot of mis-matches with his size and he has the skill to average 9 or maybe 10+ assists.
Shannon Brown should start too he has the athletism and the shooting ability to be a star
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/20/2011 - 1:29am #547495

rileymcshea3ParticipantB-Ball for life i totally agree with every thing you said those were some great statements (except for the Kings i do think they will make the playoffs 3 years from now )
Just greatness from B-Ball for life i wish i could give you 100 thumbs up for that
And Booomshakalaka thats is greatness also they should start Kobe at the one because you know he always wants the ball and that way he can show off his passing skills .They should also start Shannon Brown he is a unbelievable athlete that can shoot and he could guard the pg’s while Kobe guards the sg’s.This alows Shannon to play on the wing while not being undersized on the defensive end.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/20/2011 - 2:11am #547508
PulseGlazerParticipantDerrick Williams will be a superstar down the road, combining near-freak athleticism, motor, and outside game, but only if he plays 4.
Rubio, Kemba, Jimmer, Kyrie, Knight will be the order of the 1’s next year. Down the road, Knight’s better than all but Rubio, but either he or Kyrie end up a bust. I’m leaning Kyrie for that.
SVG, one of the best coaches in the NBA, should get his walking papers. Sometimes, it’s just time and they need a new voice int hat lockerroom.
Any team that isn’t close that can trade out of this year’s draft and into next, should… I’m talking to you Toronto/Sacramento/Detroit.
Clippers and Rockets are both extremely close to making noise in the Western Conference, along with Memphis and OKC whose gains were both real. Lakers dominate the regular season and choke in the playoffs. Celtics and Mavericks dissapoint – Celts due to lack of a big man, Mavs due to complacency.
Portland, if they get the right GM, can be conference finalists two years from now. Uber-6th man Roy, a young PG behind Miller, Batum and Alridge and they always seem to find a servicable 5.
Along with the era of the amazing 1, we get the era of the top flight 4. As Duncan, KG, Pau and Dirk stay relevant while they fade, Randolph and Amare are in their prime, and Blake, Derrick Williams, LaMarcus, Love, Bosh, Josh, and Ibaka keep this an amazingly strong position for years… Monroe and Ed Davis add to the fun. That’s 15 guys – or half-a-league of All Star talent.
Minnesota, with an A-plus coach (SVG) can be a playoff team.

MJBrownParticipantWilliams will make the all star game more times and before Irving
Darko Milicic’s career ends up being better at the end of the day than all of the Euro’s in this years draft
Marcus is out of the league before Markieff.
Gm’s regret taking Alec Burks too early if he ends up being a top 15 pick.
At least 3/5 of the all roookie team comes from outside of the lottery.

surveParticipantDespite what Barkley says:
- Magic Johnson was a "KILLER", he didnt dominate by scoring alone like Jordan, he dominated in a different way.
- Lebron has every bit the talent to be as good as MJ but the comparisons are unfair because they are two totally different players
- scoring is overated. a scorer like MJ or Dirk will always get more credit for being "KILLERS" while Magic, Lebron, and Pippen wont get as much credit but they were/are able to impact a game using many more facets, such as passing and defense.
- Dennis Rodman was a KILLER. If rebounding was held in as high regard as scoring, he wouldve won multiple MVPs, regular and finals. You are telling me a guy pulling down dam near 20 rebounds a game in this era is NOT dominant?
- Barkley’s breath smells like MJ’s knut-sak
- MJ is not on another tier than Magic….the divide is very small
- There have been other players close to MJ in physical talent, playing style, but never anyone remotely close to Magic
- I am a huge MJ fan and not a hater, he was the best player I ever seen play the game. Although MJ’s greatness cannot be overstated, its deemed as sacriligious to even imply someone could actually be as great if not greater than him in the future.
- points on this site are overated, please feel free to take mine…I love this thread!!!

Jan Vesely might be the only "cant miss" prospect in this whole draft

Rudeboy is a jerk
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/20/2011 - 5:01am #547580

omphalosParticipantScoring is underrated; a lot of defensive teams are able to grind out regular season wins to rise to the top in seedings but collapse in the playoffs. I want more emphasis on players who can score being valuable.
SVG is a terrible coach; Orlando play bad basketball because Van Gundy is stuck in the mindset that a 4-out 1-in set works best for Dwight, and doesn’t give enough freedom to his perimeter players; i.e. Arenas who was chained up all season.
If Kahn keeps Michael Beasley in Minnesota as the 1st option, he will eclipse Love as the best player on that team by far.
Tyreke Evans isn’t a combo-breaker for superstars who averaged 20-5-5, and won’t look out of place in that company by the time his career is over.
Lance Stephenson will find success in this League, and Danny Granger should be traded from the Pacers.
If Bargnani finds a defensive C to play alongside, he’ll show his worthiness as a 1st overall pick.
If Jerryd Bayless is given the starting nod this season and the Raptors don’t draft a PG, he’ll be a borderline All-Star in Toronto.
So many negatives coming…

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantMichael Gilchrist will end up being an absolute stud and will not fall to #12 next year like this site predicts.
People keep saying this draft will produce no superstars, I disagree. I think Irving will be a superstar and Kanter has a shot as well.
I hate it when people say Kanter won’t be able to play center and compare him to Horford. Horford struggles against other centers in the league because of his size, Kanter is an inch taller, has a standing reach 2.5 inches more and weighs 13 lbs more than Horford while having a body fat 3% lower than Horford (more muscle mass).
Dirk Nowitzki is not a top 5 player in the league, top 10 yes, he was the best player in the playoffs and a future surefire hall of famer but he is not better than Dwight, Lebron, Kobe, Rose, or Wade.
Eric Gordon is the third best shooting guard in the league.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/20/2011 - 7:19am #547668
cward23ParticipantGotta have Dirk ahead of Rose Even though he doesn’t pass as well he makes his teammates better while scoring more, same defense, more efficant and a better leader

WizardofOzParticipantGilbert Arenas will post borderline All-Star numbers next season. He’s reportedly lost a lot of weight since the season ended, and I think he will be put in the starting lineup nest season. He will also come back healthier. This is is SVG utilizes him properly, because he didn’t last season.
Quincy Miller will come back strong from injury and will be the #1 overall pick in next year’s draft.
John Wall will be the top PG in the NBA in 3 years.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/20/2011 - 7:34am #547682

JoeWolf1Jan Vesley has the most upside of anyone in the draft
Nolan Smith will play 10 years in the NBA and will have a better career than at least one of the pg’s or combo guards taken in the lotto
Dexter Pittman will start at least 20 games for Miami next season
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/20/2011 - 7:46am #547694

JustForThoughtParticipantMichael Beasley will be an All Star next season, Wolves make 8th seed
Griffen and Gordon both all stars, 6th seed
If marvin Williams was on a different team, he’d be averaging 17 and 6
LeBron will win his first championship next year
Brandon Knight and Jeremy Tyler two high school studs will be two of the best players from this draft
Kanter isnt as good as advertised
Vesely and Motie are the best european prospects in this draft
Carmelo leads league in scoring this year

Tobe BryantParticipantThese are my point drainers:
- The Lakers WILL return to the NBA Finals next season. Kobe will be MVP, if not, then close in the final voting. None of the core players from the Lakers won’t be traded, if so then for another BIG name.
- Lance Stephenson, despite his troubles, will help out the Pacers or whatever franchise he ends up with.
- Kyrie Irving will be a SOLID player, not the ONE that everbody is hoping for.
- Devin Harris will resurge his career and gain his ALL-STAR form back. This guy is a top-15 PG in the NBA.
- The Heat will not mesh, not until they run their offense through Bosh and get Wade and James to move without the ball more.
- Javaris Crittenton will be an ALL-STAR one day.
- This draft irks me so much, I will NEVER be able to tell who will break out or bust, because no one besides Jimmer and Kemba showed me that they stood out on the college level. I can see potential in lots of players, but I can’t take intangibles and see who is gonna be the next Jordan. Lol.
- Gilbert Arenas will be BACK!

The Lakers aren’t getting Dwight Howard

0 - Posted on: Sat, 12/10/2011 - 6:39pm #613891

OhCanada-ParticipantWill Barton is a lotto pick.
Harrison Barnes is overrated, his lack of speed and dribbling abillity will keep him from being an elite scorer (23ppg and up) in the NBA. I know he is playing under control, although that doesnt necassarily mean he has elite athletisism and is just not showing it.
Everyone hating on Andre Drummond is going to look stupid very soon. The Big East is where great Center fàFreshman go to learn and usually take a beating. The fact that he is getting any minutes on arguably the best team in the Big East should be held with high regards. He also shows great integrity by choosing UConn instead of a team like Kentucky where everything would be handed to him. He could have also coasted through High School and definitely would still be a Top 3 Pick but instead he went to college to prove he is the real deal, and I have no doubt he will dominate.
Jeremy Lamb is the best SG prospect Ive seen on his way to the NBA. He is so silky smooth, amazing off the ball and learning how to create at an elite level. All he needs is strength and a much better handle to be a sure elite scorer in the NBA. He also defends, plays fundimental ball, and is coachable.

Terrence Jones will be Marvin Williams 2.0

akhan786ParticipantHarrison Barnes is a bust. I don’t see him being better than Luol Deng because he not only cannot create his own shot, but he also doesn’t do the little things.
Jimmer Fredette will be nothing more than Eddie House in the NBA.
If Austin Rivers stays another year he will win NPOY but will disappoint in the NBA. I don’t see his game translating well to bigger, more athletic on ball defenders and weak side shot blockers.
Baylor will win the NCAA championship this year.
