Lotto StudParticipantThere are quite a few players who are ambidextrous, but will not claim their "off-hand" as their primary hand. John Wall for one’s, claim to fame is his ability to yam with his left hand as if it was his right hand, which he says is his primary hand. I am really confused when it comes to him because his left hand is his strength. IMO his left hand is better than majority of natural lefties. Another player who comes to mind also is David Lee, he is very physically gifted in the department, because he can shoot it with either hand.

B-ball fanParticipantHe is like that too. He shoots right handed, but prefers to drive left and finishes with his left hand often. Maybe it is because a lot of players are used to being funneled to their off hand and just got really good at using their off hand to drive/shoot.

Lotto StudParticipantI agree with you on that, but in Wall’s case it can’t be the reason, because he puts down windmills with the left like it is nothing.

WizardofOzParticipantYeah John Wall’s an odd case. He claims he”s right-handed, but usually dunks with his left and drives to the left side more than the right. Even in this video, he says he’s better dribbling with his left. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=grLvmEsV8sc (skip to 6:38).
But I heard somewhere that his AAU coach made him do everything with his left hand. So I guess all it takes is practice.
And LeBron is very good using both hands. When I was playing 2k11 once when I was using the Heat, the commentators said that he shoots with his right hand, but writes with his left hand.

MuggsyParticipantBeing ambidextrous is deffinitely an underrated skill. If you can pass and shoot effectively with both hands it just opens up your game to a whole new level.

PrecociousNeophyteParticipantYeah David Lee got like that because as a kid he broke his right arm and was forced to only practice with his left.
