rileymcshea3Participantlike Detroit cares…….. all they want to do is get rid of Hamilton ,and they do need some post players and a good point and thats what they get so i think thats a great trade

ChameleonKidParticipantActually we DO care. In this deal, we’re basically giving Rip and our #8 away for two bench players. Not a good deal.

TRC1991Participantthat trade is beyond ludicrous for detroit…i was about to give you a -1 but realized you didnt make it up lol

ChameleonKidParticipantAm I the only one who’s getting sick of seeing Rip Hamilton viewed as just a contract(ala Eddy Curry)? The guy still has good value, and regardless of what anyone says he can STILL give some team 13-14 pts/game, preferably starting for a contending team somewhere. This is getting ridiculous.

J-BoParticipantLOL from the Grizzlies.

r377ParticipantIf Rip got 30-35 mins a night he would be putting up 18-4-4 like he used to….
He is also one of the fittest in the league – he still has plenty left to offer.
Caron Butler got similar money from Dallas (around $10 mill)

gopack10ParticipantI don’t like the trade simply based on the fact that Minny cleans up while the Grizz only get a backup center with a bloated contract. Cleveland gets good value and so does Detroit in my opinion but Minnesota basically gives up the 2nd pick and the 20th pick for O.J., the 4th and 8th picks. The T-Wolves would have to at least send Flynn to the Grizz for that to even be close to being a fair deal.
What idiot would actually talk about a trade like this on a radio station?

Malik-UniversalParticipantwhy would detroit do this trade
and if dumars does pull the trigger on this trade i will be….
idk ima be mad at his ass

HitsterParticipantT-wolves are the winners in that trade, Memphis would probably only want Varejao if Marc Gasol moved on as it would give them 5 players under large long term deals. Varejao is a good player but for his contract you need him to play big minutes even if he comes from the bench and with Memphis having Z-Bo and Gasol as their frontcourt then there is no need for him there.

mj23mj23besteverParticipanthe can still provide a solid 12 too 15 a night and provide veterean leadership on a team

Born ReadyParticipantwhat if the wolves throw in flynn to memphis or b-easy to pistons or even both..
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/15/2011 - 4:33am #545308

651TwolvesParticipantI dont like it for the wolves. the reason we are trying to trade away the 2nd pick is to get a starting vetran in their prime to help lead our young team. unless there is a plan to trade away atleast one of those two picks, I dont think Kahn would do it.
I also dont think memphis would be willing to part w/mayo after the strong playoffs he had to get back a low pick in 20 and take on Andersons hefty contract. why invest that much in a backup post when they have their starting frontcourt already?
I can see detriot doing it, but I think they could probably get a little more than arthur and sessions for the 8th pick and dumping rips contract.

WolvesFutureParticipantcame from an NBA source familiar with the negotiations, I’m sure it’s one of many rumors flying around.
