Although it’s always a hit or miss with some of these ESPN reports, I can’t help but think about this new possibility for a trade between the Clippers and 76ers. Kaman for Iggy looks great for the Clippers and just downright exciting for basketball fans in general. These guys already led the league in dunks, but now they want to add Iggy. Omg that would be great to watch.

    Potential Starting 5

    PG- Mo Williams

    SG- Eric Gordon

    SF- Andre Iguodala

    PF- Blake Griffin

    C- DeAndre Jordan

Now this is looking like a possible playoff caliber team. This is all pending on whether or not they keep Jordan or not. And I’m liking the odds that they do since it seemed like he really enjoyed his teammates and being alongside Blake. He stays in LA or goes to NY possibly. But with him staying, Iggy coming over, and a few other key free agents, the Clippers should be good for next year. Unless of course, they’re still haunted by some curse that is said to be following them.

    Thoughts?

I just posted this aswell… i think its a great deal for both parties involved .. kaman can reconnect with brand and philly finally finds a legit big and the clips get one of the best all around players in the game.. different with iguodala in  a clips uniform he doesnt have to be the guy.. great deal for both sides!

wow i actually like that team, just have to replace mo williams with a true pg and it would be perfect, maybe bledsoe can develop and take the starting job eventually

I’m a little jealous. I was hoping my Kings would be the ones to eventually turn heads. But if that trade goes down, the clippers that we’re once the laughing stock of the league, would be in the play offs for sure. After that, all they would need would be a solid coach. Other wise they will be out of luck when teams start making adjustments for those high flyers. Still, that is one dangerous team to look at.

     on a side note

i am very surprised that Utah isnt going after iguodala, with all there PF’s it would only make sence. they havent had a wing threat like iguodala in years!.. however if he goes to the clips and jordan resigns they can have a impact like memphis had this year( best case of course)

Between Iggy, Griffin, and DeAndre Jordan, theres gonna be a lot of dunking going on. And I can’t think of a more athletic front court. I like what Jordan did when he got the chance last year. Guys going to be top 3 in bpg next.season if this trade goes down.

This seems to good to be true for LAC and they should do whatever necessary to make it happen even if it means handing over Bledsoe or Aminu and one more piece, drafts picks…A lineup of Mo Williams/Eric Gordon/Andre Iguodala/Blake Griffin/DeAndre Jordan would have the perfect combination of size, shooting, athleticism, versatile scoring and now defense, between Iggy and Jordan at least. Plus Foye and Gomes off the bench is definitely solid even if they give up one of their prospects. That team would have a great future and if Iggy has an impact on Gordon and Griffin in terms of defensive mentality that could be a 42-50 win team next year.

This would be a great trade for the Clippers because their biggest hole is at the SF spot, but I don’t see the 76ers doing this deal knowing Kamans injury history.

Good deal but the clippers definatly have to throw in something to sweeten the deal for philly.

either picks or one of the young guys ie bledsoe or aminu.

Yeah we need a center on the sixers but kaman ??? we have a shooting center in hawes (even tho kaman is  more effient) and a low post scorer in brand so this trade doesn’t do much for the sixers but a unprotected lottery pick would be a great asset.

As said above me, I love this trade for my Sixdogs but I really want to see them add another draft pick.  I would even trade our pick this year for the T-Wolves 2012 pick and maybe a future 2nd.

This would be a good trade for the Sixers if they are only looking to clear salary as Kaman comes off the books after this upcoming season

If the Sixers are really keen on Ellis and the Clippers on Iguodala, why not do a three-team deal where Ellis goes to Philly, Kaman to the Warriors (they need a C), and Iggy to the Clippers. Sounds like it would be the best fit for all the teams, depending on whether the Sixers actually want Ellis over Kaman.

If the Clippers do this trade than it should be a 3 team trade with golden state..

But if it was just Philly and the Clippers, Id do an Iggy, Hawes for Kaman, Aminu and future 2nd round picks.

Philly gets an allstar center and a young talented sf who comes cheap.

Clippers get a really good Sf and a backup center to Deandre jordan.

But im pretty sure Philly will try to get more from the Clippers withouth giving up hawes.

The Warriors don’t want old, injured, slow, inefficient Kaman the caveman. Iggy is much better, and I’m sure the Warriors would rather have Iggy than Kaman. The only thing Kaman has going for him is that he’s an expiring contract, which may become valuable under the new CBA.

Warriors have been linked with Nene, and he’s the same age as Kaman. Kaman also showed he could be productive without relying on athleticism, which means he would age well. If the Warriors abandon their run and gun style under Mark Jackson I can’t see why Kaman wouldn’t be desirable.

Warriors have to go into win-now mode because they aren’t getting any more high lottery picks, so take a chance on a veteran player to pair with Lee to form a solid front-line and see where it’ll take them.

Just my opinion of course, but Kaman is only one season removed from an All-Star year after and is aged only 29, plus he isn’t a long-term commitment.

Chris Kaman is an inefficient scorer and a poor defensive player. Mark Jackson has also said that he will not be abandoning the run and gun style, so he’s an even worse fit. While the Warriors need a center, they need a mobile one, like Nene, who can pass and make plays. Kaman’s TS% was .527, and the league average was .545.

    http://www.basketball-reference.com/…kamanch01.html

Yes, Kaman made the All-star team. It was as an injury replacement, in a league with very few bigs. So did David Lee. Making the all-star team doesn’t make you a great player. And being bad defensively and bad offensively definitely doesn’t make you a great player.

PPG doesn’t translate to being a good player, otherwise I wouldn’t want to trade Ellis’s 24.1 PPG for Iggy’s 14.1 PPG.

I posted this trade LAST OFFSEASON as soon as the Sixers got Iggy.  Then again right before the deadline when kamen came bacc and looked healthy.  At the time I thought a starting lineup of Baron Davis, Eric Gordon, Iggy, Blake, and Deandre Jordan would be one of the most physically imposing in the league.

I still love this trade although I’m actually torn between this one or the Ellis deal because i love Ellis too.  Either way it’s a win win for both teams.

I’m a LAC supporter, so I’d be estatic if they traded Kaman for Iguodala. Igoudala’s playmaking ability would be on full display with Williams and Gordon on the wings, and Griffin and Jordan in the paint.

However, if I was a 76ers supporter, I’d be pissed. Kaman is very skilled. He has great hands and feet. He can shoot the ball or post up. He’s a good offensive player… He’s a decent rebounder. However, no other player on the Clippers (other than Baron Davis) has frustrated me more than Kaman the last few seasons. He’s always injured and trust me… He’ll always take the max amount of time it takes to return. He can’t defend and has slow lateral movement. He’s seven feet tall, but doesn’t block shots. And if you double him/force him towards the baseline, there’s a great chance he’ll turn the ball over.

Plus, I just think he plays lazy sometimes. Jordan isn’t the offensive player that Kaman is, but sometimes I prefered Jordan on the floor just because he played with more energy, effort, etc.

So I’m a 76ers fan.  All the talk about Iggy for Kaman brewing up again.  I’m curious Clippers fans what’s your take on the Kaman/Brand combo.  Obviously they were both hurt a ton during their tenure out in LA.  But when they were on the court was it working.  Did they gel, did they compliment one another?  How were they defensively?

This is a good deal for both teams but I agree the Clips need to throw in a draft pick. I think maybe the Clippers own first round pick next year and 2nd round pick this year would be sufficient in this deal.I can’t see them throwing in Minnesota’s 1st round pick next year though that seems a bit steep to me considering it will likely be a top 5 pick atleast. As a Clips fan I obviously love this trade Blake played better with Jordan starting and Iggy would fit them perfectly with his defense and athleticism. Brand and Kaman would form a solid post duo in Philly. The Eastern Conference doesn’t have a ton of good post combos and these too were great in LA together at times. Philly is deperate for a center and I don’t see them getting one in the draft that will have the impact Kaman will. Don’t see why both sides wouldn’t atleast try to make this trade work

Kaman although he has been an All Star and has the expiring deal next year does not match Iggy talentwise in most people’s eyes so the Clippers would have to add something to make the deal work. They gave up their draft pick this year so could not give up next year’s pick at least until after this year’s draft and they owe a future first rounder to the Celtics via the Thunder as well.

If Philly do want to move Iggy then there areteams with exceptions and high draft picks this year or even a team like Denver which has some talent the 76ers might like and has picks due from NY to play with.
