Should both teams look a potential Point Guard Swap…CP3 and KD In OKC, Russell Westbrook the man in NOLA…could this trade get The Thunder closer to a title, does Westbrook jump start a rebuilding project in New Orleans???…Have the fans of either team heard this rumor floating around or have we all really gone fishin until the draft and free agency…Do Thunder take want Cp3 and Vice versa…I personally think it would be huge for both teams, Russell would likely love the chance to be the lone star of his own team, and Paul could be the missing piece now that Ibaka and Perkins are in place down low and Harden keeps producing like he has…

the only reason OKC would reject is if they fear chris is injury prone… and if NO would trade chris theres no way they would get a player better then Westbrook…

I’ve been talking about this potential trade with a few friends since the Memphis series. I love it for both teams but it’s a function to get the money to work out. I originally thought Westbrook and Nick Collison for Paul and David Anderson would work, but that was before I saw how Collisons contract was structured to he made 13 mil last year and around 3 mil for the next few years. Also I think Collison is very valuable but it’d be worth it if CP3 agrees to an extension.

I know Westbrook is a very athletic player, but Chris Paul would dynamically change this team for the better I think b/c he is a more effective scorer and he really knows how to dish tha rock better. Chris also seems to understand the game better than Westbrook and is a smarter player…….for me, Westbrook thinks his athleticism will conquer all in his path, but he doen’t realize it works only when you’re hitting your shots! Because when Westbrook is not making shots he’s not even half the player he should be but CP3 can still get others off it not himself and still make an impact on the game

Not hattin on Westbrook, just going by what I see…..I really think Durant is overrated too, no defence playing, can’t really get his own shot, don’t really move great w/o the ball and because of that he can’t really take over a game like the elite stars, and when he’s having an off night – he’s having an off night!

Yup! I said it! Durant can’t really get his on shot, its kind of funny how anyone can really argue that, b/c thats the main reason why everyone is on Westbrooks case; saying he’s not a "true" PG and he needs to pass the ball more/ he’s taking bad/missing shots. Look at Durant in the playoffs (where the big boys come to play), this dude could do anything and on top of that he was bricking shots like crazy, he had trouble putting the ball on the floor to try and get a shot – it didn’t work, thats why u hear Charles and Kenny saying they need to find a way to get Durant the ball lol, because Durant can’t handle the rock, he can’t get his own shot off like Dirk, like Lebron, like Westbrook, like Kobe….and so on.  FOR EXAMPLE, WHEN DID DURANT TAKE SOMEONE OFF THE DRIBBLE AND DUNK ON EM? no where in the playoffs really, he wan’t dominate, yeah he’s pretty good like most during the season, but when he’s being guarded by top compitition he tends to fold, unless ur the Lakers lol,

Don’t get me wrong, Durant is good, but not nearly as good as many people are making him out to be. "everyone says blame Westbrook", but take a 2nd look and blame Durant", if he can’t get himself an open shot and he’s missing spotup shots all over the place, then he’s no better than having a decoy on the court, and he don’t play any Defense!

Then maybe Westbrook would have the ball all the time, late in the games, the players look for Durant or Westbrook to make a play, if noone is moving and if Durant ain’t hittin, then Westbrook has to do something, right?

Westbrook needs to learn how to change gears.  He goes a million miles an hour at all times.  It’s like a pitcher who only throws fastballs, eventually you figure them out and learn to time it.

What are the chances that Chris Paul re-signs with N.O. after this year? It would be a good move for N.O. because they can get something back to Paul. Now I dont think Westbrook is as good as Paul, no way, but I think he’s a good PG. His obvious rift with Kevin Durrant will force you to think that this is a good move for OKC whos superstar player is not happy with Westbrook.

So i can see it possible happening. I have said since the Thunder lost in the playoffs that i thought Westbrook would be traded. He just thinks he’s the superstar of that team and he took it upon himself to make the plans but couldnt.

What are the chances that the Hornets are going to stay in New Orleans?  The NBA owns them now and the city is struggling.  It’ll be interesting how it works out.

@Scarecrow, what i mean is that the Thunder are only going to get better, and shaking everything up may not be the best idea. However your examples are valid.

I love Westbrocks athleticism and potential but this would be a good move for OKC, Paul would give them the pass first point they need.

It is just not apart of Durrant’s game to take people off the dribble, hes a pure jump shooter. It really is a double edged sword in the regard that Westbrook’s ability to get to the rim really puts this team on a different level, but then his ability to horde the ball takes away from their chances to win. And then there is his attitude. At some points in the playoffs the dude reminded me of J.R. Smith, and I hope you get that comparison. Just did what ever he wanted in spite of what the coaches said or the team needed. Hence he sat in the 4th quarter of some games.

But that being said, he is very young and can correct alot of his "issues" along the way.

WTF is wrong with Scarecrow with that analogy.

This would be a smart trade for both teams.

The Hornets get a stud young player who’s signed up for a couple years and has playoff experience too.

Chris Paul is a pure PG and he’s not old just turned 26 and obviously a better passer than Westbrook.

Paul would have to agree to an extension though i’m thinking since OKC wouldn’t want to lose him in free agency.

Bringing in Paul would help Harden and the bigs improve there game a lot.

I remember when I thought Durant was overrated too but after this years playoffs no way is he overrated.

Maybe he’s not aggressive enough during crunch time thats about it.

It’s funny that this trade has been brought up as at the end of the season, I was telling my brother and a few friends how the Celtics should look to trade Rondo, Big Baby, and Bradley for CP3 as that would make them nearly unstoppable, and then this CP3 for Westbrook shit comes out. Looks like the  Thunder have figured out there issue earlier than the C’s. Question is, if you were NOLA, and you were offered Rondo,Davis,Bradley, and maybe ven the 35 this year  or Westbrook Collison. Who would you go for. Either way, it’s lookin like CP3’s days in NOLA are soon to be over.
