Lebron is bigger, stronger, a better rebounder, a and better passer than Mike. But lets make this clear, Lebron can not shoot as well as Mike and while he is a good defender, he is not a better defender than Mike was. Also, he does not have the killer instinct had, very few in the history game did. Lasty Mike would have cut his own throat before willing to leave the bulls to join magic on the lakers or Bird on the Celtics. Mike would rather lose to them than to join them, his competitiveness to be the best would not allowed him to join forces with people that thought they were on his level.

Rings – Michael Jordan – 6. LeBron – 0. I know LeBron will end up with some titles but nothing else to say really.

LeBron wins his 2nd conference finals and everybody starts losing their ish…tyrober said it best, 6 to zero, ‘nough said….MJ would abuse LeBron if he was in his prime right now with the pump fakes, post up, overall hustle and determination…Looking at those stats, Jordan is barely behind in AST and REB while averaging 5 more PTS, which in a close playoff game makes a big difference and shoots a better % from the field and you know MJ takes more shots…plus where are you getting these stats and is it based on the the same amount of seasons played up to LeBrons career right now? MJ is the God of basketball and no one, I repeat, NO ONE can ever touch his brilliance and greatfulness on the court…watch this video and tell me you still favor Lebron….

almost makes me tear up showing the reason I love the game and always will…

Thank you for the double post… It’s in the general forum.

For now, easily Jordan > LBJ

But Lebron has potential to reach Jordan domination. Let’s wait for another decade.

Also, the biggest factor to me, Doug Collins said in an interview played during MJ’s HOF acceptance speech that MJ every year came back better and added more aspects to his game. Quicker, stronger, better shooter, better post up game. Since LeBron’s 1st year in the league what has he really gotten better at?? His jumper is more solid but it’s still not that good and he’s added nothing else…I feel that LeBron is a better passer but that is literally it.

    I’m Jus So Offended,

Jordan is obviously better than James, but Lebron’s defense and overall offensive game has improve greatly since his rookie year. His defensive awareness is amazing. Offensively, yes his jumpshot is better but so are his general decisions and dribbling. He was also a great assist guy but his playmaking now is amazing.

Being the best player isn’t just about improving every year. I think Lebron had more talent than Jordan his rookie year. It’s about longevity too. I don’t think Lebron and his big body will last as many seaaons as Jordan or Kobe though.

One last point, sorry I’m jus sooooo offended by this, LeBron is a career 75% FT shooter while MJ is 83% and in today’s game, where officials call some of the weakest ish, I don’t think its outrageous to say MJ would get to the line 15-20 times per game…better all around my a$$

good point 666, his D has gotten a lot better but has he gotten on an All NBA defensive team??? I don’t think so and I’m not even going to research how many MJ has but it was about year in and year out.

    So offended bro,

MJ is still the real king but LBJ is making progress. I don’t even like Lebron, at least his personality. Regarding individual accolades, it’s a different league. Jordan defended players less talented than Lebron does today.

In terms of dominance, LBJ on the Cavs equals Jordans on the Bulls imo. Put a Pippen type of player (top 5- overall in the NBA) on the Cavs and they get a ring.

Pippen wouldn’t have helped them defend Tim Duncan or Parker in 2007, Dwight Howard in 2009, or beat the Celtics in 2010.

Be realistic Pippen was a great HOF player mostly because of his defense.

He wasn’t that great of an offensive player.

LeBron has made the first team for all-defensive team three years in a row.  The team  is a joke anyways so it’s not really a fair comparison.

I’m not saying who’s better than who here but..

Especially coming from Scottie Pippen, the player who won 6 championships with Jordan and played together for most of their careers..

I’m just saying, if anyone were to know if a player was better than Jordan, he’d be one of them.

MJ was the best defensive player for many years, so much that he won the scoring title and defensive player of the year in the same season!!! Its an unfair comparison, Lebron has to do so much to just be mentioned in the same breath. Let’s have this convo in 5-6 years from now.

Don’t forget MJ played in a time where defense ruled for the most part.

Also the triangle offense and obviously Jordan was more clutch.

Pippen must really want to get some followers on twitter or his name in the media more.

I do think Lebron is getting close to MJ when it comes to defense.

Also you can’t compare the too when it comes to size and obviously Lebron can play the PF.

Beating the Bulls that have only 1 consistent scorer shouldn’t put him in this discussion.

Remember he still got swept by the Spurs in 2007 and lost to the Magic in 2009.

Getting passed the Celtics withouth Perkins, Shaq and an injured Rondo isn’t the same as beating them in 2008 or 2010.

Beating the Mavs would help but I don’t think Miami will beat Dallas, though I don’t think they’ll lose because of Lebron.

“Jordan defended players less talented than Lebron does today.” – Really!?!?! Let’s see, Drexler, Reggie Miller, Sprewell, Mitch Richmond, Nique, Magic, Allan Houston, iverson, penny Hardaway, Joe Dumars, Zeke, Payton, just to name a few, not to mention playing against bigs like Ewing, Mt Mutumbo, David Robinson, Barkely, Malone, Kemp….. I could go on forever…

What I have to say is not a claim to who is better, but I just get tired of people comparing individual players in a team sport.  Its too many variables.  Its much easier to say Tiger is better than Nicklaus or Sugar Ray is better than Mayweather, although accomplishments and competition will always be a part of any argument when discussing greatness.   Titles in a team sport does not make an individual better than another…its collective works.

With that being said, I dont really like to compare players from different eras.  If titles is the end all be all to your arguments, then Bill Russell is the greatest b-ball player ever, Rob Horry is the greatest role player ever, Oscar Robertson is grossly overrated, Ewing and Malone are pure garbage.  You get the picture.  Had Jordan not won those titles, he still wouldve been the best, winning them substantuates any arguments thereof.  If Kobe wins 2 more is he better than MJ?

Lets not all fall in love with stats when they don’t give the whole picture. We don’t have stats or really anything to measure Jordans intangibles/leadership or even his defensive presence aside from blocks/steals. Lebron has a chance and some people will argue he’ll be better, but the guy is so far away from Jordans body of work it’s still premature to even start making comparisons.

Kobe has 5 rings and an impressive career, and even with that, you can’t compare him to Jordan. Jordan WAS the NBA – and years removed from the game, his legacy still defines the modern NBA and is the measuring stick for fan popularity and champions. Lebron is the most hyped player of all time, a better question is whether he’ll be able to meet the expections created by the media/fans.

Let me know when Lebron gets the sixth as the primary star. Lebron might be the most talented to ever play the game, but that doesn’t necessarily, and hasn’t yet translated to best ever.

Skills wise Jordan was far superior to LeBron, but LBJ’s freakish athleticism and strength is out of this world. I think by the time his career is over many with put him beside Jordan, I can;t stand LeBron but i can’t deny the fact that he is without a doubt the best player on the planet as of right now.
