The Commercial Appeal is reporting Cleveland offered its 4th pick and its 14 million dollar trade exception for Rudy Gay last week, but Memphis rejected the deal…It appears that Cleveland is looking for an established young star and might be willing to trade its Overall pick to aquire 1…

Cleveland should send the 4th pick for OJ Mayo..There’s nobody available in the draft that has Mayo’s talent…I think during the playoffs this year, Mayo might’ve increased his value…

OJ Mayo is definitely not worth the 4th overall pick. You must be crazy

If Memphis had accepted that trade in this class I would be speechless.

avikesh..have you seen this year’s crop of prospects?

Even though Mayo’s trade value has decreased to the point of Memphis offering him for a 2nd rounder and a backup..Mayo is a star and still capable of being a 20 point scorer next season..Can any of this year’s players give you that next season?

Besides Irving,Derrick Williams or Kanter i’ll offer Mayo for anyone else in this draft…

I agree with RudeBoy that Mayo is worth the 4th pick, look at the draft he was taken in and his first two years in the NBA and say he’d not be worth the 4th pick?

Rudy Gay for the number 1 pick would be interesting to see what Memphis would do?

I wouldn’t call mayo a star. He can score 20 a nite but he still has bad shot selection (shot only 40% from the field) and his per ratig was terrible. Sessions and pick 32 and maybe a 2nd rd pick next year for mayo would be a fair trade IMO. Sessions will become expendable for the cavs once they draft Irving and would be a huge upgrade over vasques as a backup pg. Session actually had better numbers than Mayo. Sessions averaged 13 ppg and 5 assit per game and although he was a starter they both played almost the exact same amout of minutes (both averaged 26.3 minutes per game).

Honestly I think it would be a better trade for Memphis than most people on here seem to think. Gay’s contract is massive and with Marc Gasol an upcoming RFA, Battier a UFA, Randolph and Conley with huge contracts and an unknown labour situation it might have been a good move for Memphis to keep some financial flexibility moving forward.

The Grizz would probably be able to grab either Brandon Knight or Enes Kanter with that 4th selection as well as possibly resigning both Gasol and Battier who were both big reasons for their post season success.
