    lol Clippers could’ve had

    Jordan

    Griffin

    ——

    Gordon

    Irving

I don’t know who their small forward would be, maybe their lottery pick from last year Aminu but thats not the point. The Mo Williams/Baron Davis and Clippers 1st round pick deal wouldn’t be that bad if the pick was protected.

the deal was awful to begin with, even if the lottery pick was a late one they could have gotten a young player like Kemba or Knight to grow with the Clippers, will look really horrific if Eric Bledsoe doesnt pan out for them

It was a classic Clippers move. Through and through.

I actually like the move.  They have two solid point guard already Irving is not Chris Paul.  He may be better than Conley and Bledsoe could wind up being just as good.  Clippers have Mo Williams who is a pretty good point guard right now.  Irving is not going to carry a team.

Clippers are young enough and they gave up a bad contract along with that pick in an average to below average draft.

Clippers have youth and talent and athleticism at every position.

What planet are u on…nothing makes that trade acceptable at all, they traded away the number 1 pick for Mo Williams and Jamario Moon…Derrick Williams or Kyrie Irving would be a huge upgrade over Williams/Bledsoe or Aminu/Moon…nice move Clippers…u are doing a fabulous job surrounding Blake Griffin with talented players, Mo Williams and Eric Bledsoe can run the show until he leaves in free agency…

I think the Clips traded the pick with Davis to free cap space so they could retain Deandre Jordan who is a restricted free agent this summer. Jordan is more valuable to LAC because of his rare defensive presence in the paint. Not to mention Chris Paul, Deron Williams, Raymond Felton, Jameer Nelson, and Steve Nash are unrestricted free agents following next season. Russell Westbrook is also a restricted FA but I can’t see him not getting extended. Either way, the Clips have good options, all better than a hit or miss lottery pick in a “weak” draft.

^^^^^^ If they hadn’t made the trade, don’t you think they could have made a better trade now?
I mean I always thought they should have waited until the draft lottery to do the trade, all what they needed is to wait 3 months to make it

Has a team ever won back to back first picks in NBA history?

LAC thought they’d be picking towards the bottom half of the lottery and didn’t like the talent that’d be available. Why add another young player that they’re not even high on to a team that already has plenty of young players? Their thinking was to save $14 million and use that to re-sign players like Jordan and Gordon (We’ll see if Sterling actually does that with the money).

The deal looks bad now that the pick netted that top spot, but it is what it is. This is a below average draft in my opinion and I don’t see one perenial all-star or superstar type of talent. Just a bunch of solid players.

LAC will have great picks in next year’s draft, which is the draft you want to have great picks in.
