The Splash DocParticipantThey can keep everyone they have and just the use the MLE wisely
This year- A shooting guard- Afflalo and W. Chandler are both RFA throw a 5yr/29mil deal at them Denver wont match both they’ll likely keep Chandler so Chicago gets Afflalo.
They can then trade Ronnie Brewer and CJ Watson for an upgrade at back up PG and SG maybe a deal like Brewer/Watson/2011 1st/2011 2nd/2012 2nd to Cleveland for Daniel Gibson and Manny Harris
Draft Justin Harper as a stretch 4 with the only 1st rounder
Then in 2012- Sign Rose to a MAX extension look to upgrade at SF (They can take the 2012 1st and add in a future 1st, 2nd and cash to move up and take Michael Gilchrist would will fit perfectly next to Afflalo on the wing.
With the MLE split it amongst a 3rd big, 3rd PG and shooter(Armon Johnson, Earl Barron and Andre Nocioni)
2012-2013 Line Up
SF- Deng/Gilchrist/Nocioni
PF- Boozer/Gibson/Harper
C- Noah/Asik/Barron
SG- Afflalo/Harris/Korver
PG- Rose/Gibson/Johnson

OhCanada-ParticipantGibson and Harris are not as good as Watson and Brewer. It would be hard to find an upgrade for Deng with limited trade value, and Deng is a Top 30 player in this league to most in the NBA’s circle, he is playing great. You cant trade consecutive 1st round picks, and what makes you think Gilchrist is even declaring or would be there for Chicago? The team is contending now, be happy.

The Splash DocParticipant1. WILSON CHANDLER plays for Denver you a$$
2. Its not that you cant trade consecutive 1st round picks its that you cant go with a 1st round pick for consecutive drafts the bulls have 2 this year so they can trade 1 this year and still be able to trade the 2012 one
3. Brewer cant shoot, Harris can score and can become a better defender with Thibs on his a$$, Afflalo will play 32 minutes because he can both shoot and score plus defend.
4. Boobie is way better than CJ Watson point blank period
5. Deng is good for now…..Gilchrist will be better in the future

avikeshParticipantAfflalo would be a perfect fit for the bulls. The bulls are probably going to go into the luxury tax if they sign him, plus rose is due for a max entension soon like you said, but I guess most championship caliber teams pay the luxury tax.
Gilchrist is a stretch tho. And Gibson wouldn’t be a solid back-up pg, he just likes to shoot. I say keep both 1sts, draft Harper with one like you said, and with the other take Marshon Brooks. Dude would kill it spotting up off of Rose slashing.

Memphis MadnessParticipantBogans and Brewer are redundant. Bogans is the better shooter, so they should move Brewer. I like CJ Watson as a backup though. If they can move Brewer and some picks for Daniel Gibson then that would be great. Not sure they have to move Watson too. Then they could go small off the bench with Boobie and CJ.
I really like them getting Aflalo. They need a steady scorer at the two. It might be a stretch but I think the Bulls need to roll the dice on getting Chris Douglas-Roberts. He isn’t a great defender but he can score, and he and Rose worked very well at the University of Memphis. … best college backcourt I have ever seen. They could go offense/defense at the 2 with CDR/Bogans.
The Bulls lack a superstar second option so they might just have to work with what they have. An upgrade at the two would help (Aflalo, or CDR for offense off the bench), as would another good player up front. I like Taj Gibson and Asik up front a lot. They could use another guy though since they don’t really have a backup small forward (Korver is more of a shooting guard). I love the idea of them adding a stretch 4. Harper would be a good pickup. He could really give them a nice, long, front line off the bench with Taj and Asik.
Boobie, Korver would be a couple of good shooters off the bench. An upgrade at the 2 would allow Bogans to also come off the bench and be a defensive specialist and spot-up shooter. Taj and Asik are good post players with Justin Harper being another Taj Gibson type (young, athletic, not a true power player but can do a lot of things). CJ Watson gives them more depth at guard and a guy that can attack the basket.
I really like the idea of adding Boobie Gibson, another shooting guard, and a stretch four. That would really help the lineup and they wouldn’t have to give up much to do it.

ghettosermonParticipantYou would give Ronnie Brewer, CJ Watson, a first rounder and 2 2nd rounders for Daniel Gibson and Manny Harris? And you are a Bulls fan? I’m speechless.
Your scenario to grab Michael Gilchrist with a top 5 pick is even more ridiculous. Your 2012 first rounder will be a late first and any future picks you trade will also likely be late firsts, this isn’t the NFL draft. The value of draft picks decline furiously after the top 10 picks. To think a team in the top 5 would trade their pick for a late first, and a future late first is ridiculous.

Memphis MadnessParticipantI like the idea of the Bulls upgrading their bench and their shooting guard position but I am interested to see how the Bulls/Heat series goes. Should be a great series. The Heat and Bulls are the top teams in the East going forward so I wanna see how Chicago matches up. Then they can address any weaknesses in the offseason. But I agree that getting Aflalo or a player like that through free agency and a hybrid forward in the draft is the way to go. The hybrid forwards are giving a lot of team’s trouble. The hybrid forwards are players with really good size and mobility who can also score away from the basket or drive it to the hole. I would put LeBron, Dirk, Josh Smith, and Lamar Odom in this category. Although Durant is really skinny and built like a traditional small forward, he is very tall and extremely long making him a matchup problem like Dirk, LeBron and those other guys. These guys create headaches for the defense.
The championship Bulls teams had Toni Kukoc who was one of these hybrid forwards who came off the bench and gave them some of everything (passing, ball handling, outside shooting) who could play the 3 and also some 4. Kukoc was somewhat underrated and gave the Bulls an ideal Big Four (along with Jordan, Pippen, and Rodman).

CalipariParticipantThis plan seems rather crazy, so to keep with the mood I’ll create my own scheme:
Please, I don’t need to be told about the ridiculousness of what you are about to read:
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=3g4vhxv
The Hawks refine the forward situation while adding a true center. And no, the Hawks don’t necessarily have to do anything, but this trade could at least be considered. The Pacers pay a price, but they get two solid, established forwards and a young big. The Bulls get put over the top with this deal, and the upgrades (or Horford instead of Smith) at the forward spots allow for Brewer to be a more succesful, defense oriented memeber of the starting five. Also, I am not advocating that all parties should necessarily do this, but rather dreaming.

esperanzafleet69Participantguarenteed that denver matches wilson chandlers qualifying offer, the only way he leaves is in a S&T… hes gonna be offered more than the MLE… i dont think you understand how good he is…
earl watson and ronnie brewer are FAR better than harris and gibson… ESPECIALLY brewer defensively… theres a reason they have kyle korver, and its for offense and 3’s, they have bogans and brewer for great defense..
that was just one bad idea after another…
that team you put down just has so many holes defensively…

chibulls88ParticipantAfflalo will cost much more than the MLE, (if that even exists in the next CBA), because he is a stellar defender and 3pt. shooter. He would be perfect otherwise
Manny Harris is NOT an upgrade. If he couldn’t get serious playing time with the CAVS then he won’t play for the Bulls.
Brewer is an underrated defender and slasher who provides a different look for this team. Look for his defense vs. Wade against Miami. He IS upgradeable but I want someone better to replace him than Manny Harris.
I don’t want CDR near this team. There are reports he was a headcase in NJ and he isn’t good enough offensively to risk it with this team. He didn’t do much for Milwaukee anyway.
The best plan is to use our 4 first rounders in the next two drafts to find young, cheap depth and or trade for an upgrade over Bogans at SG (i.e. Courtney Lee or OJ Mayo).

aamir543ParticipantMichael Gilchrist is said to be the "Ray Allen of High school" No way are you going to get that deal to move up to draft him. Otherwise, It seems to be realistic, except put Korver ahead of Manny Harris.
