ilike.panochasParticipantSo my college English class asked us to compose a poem, in our own words. So my fellow nbadraft, I need your honest opinion, positive and negative feedbacks are welcome, so I know what to work on to get better. Without further a due, here is what I have written so far (and it’s a short poem)
—————-Title: I will love, Pursue happiness, Achieve Peace
Each day of awakening, is another date of reckoning of how life has inverted.
Each night of dream, is a method of grasping of what I have lust for lifetime.
Presuming the existence of it has invariably doubted. Though I continue the quest, without ever questioning if it is what I linger.
It is not held, it is felt. Not seen, it is imagined. It cannot be heard, due to silence is evident that peace has taken place.
I will love. Fulfill happiness. Contribute to a better world to achieve tranquility. Without taking a single day for granted. This will be my legacy.

ilike.panochasParticipantThanks alot bro. I consider English my worst subject because it’s my 2nd language, being Filipino and all.

i’m jus so offendedParticipantotherwise that’s very nice mess.ee, you’ve seem to have gotten quite a grip on the english language, if that’s your worst subject, i’m thinkin ur a pretty pretty good student. i’m not a big fan of poems that don’t rhyme but that’s just the hip hop in me. if your teacher doesn’t give u an A, for tha next one got with m-dymes ish

butidonthavemoneyNon basketball topic? Here?
What’s your problem?
Anyway, it’s a good poem. Seems a little forced though. Poetry shouldn’t be about saying… poetic words… I guess. Maybe your teacher eats that up (some do) but I prefer an effortless kind of poetry. Just open up and let it flow. But maybe you did, I don’t know you personally or anything. It’s also very descriptive and I liked your message. Hope you write more.

M-DYMESParticipantI am a pretty chill person, it just there is alot of things in this world that can aggravate me. Especially corruption amongst governments and politics. If there’s one thing I got from college, its been a raised level of awareness and a willingness to develop my own opinion and take everything with a grain of salt.

ilike.panochasParticipantThanks alot y’all. Great feedbacks. I’m a hiphop lover aswell (Talib Kweli, Mos Def, Lupe Fiasco, Black Thought) and that’s my root of inspiration.
I think everyone here should write a poem and post it here. Make this a poetry thread or something. Lol

M-DYMESParticipantBig props for following Mos Def, Talib, Black Thought, n Lupe (although the industry really fucked up what LASERS was suppose to be). Def. check out immortal technique too. He’s the only one in todays game who could hold his own with Pac IMO.

DemarDerozanParticipantHERES MY POEM!!
Worked very very hard on this.
Titled: Chris Bosh
Hello, My name is Chris Bosh
I got schooled by a white boy named josh.
Was i really worth the 4th overall pick?
All i really do is suck some big fat Dwade dick.
I learned how to shoot, by a girl name tammy
She told me i’d never win a ship in miami
Because soon enough i’d get traded next season
For no apparent reason..
They told me they were going in a different direction
But maybe it was because everytime i saw Dwade and Lebron I’d get an erection.0 - AuthorPosts
