    Bismack Biyombo.

He has a 7’7 wingspan and 9’3 standing reach. Dwight Howard measured at 6’9 w/o shoes, 7’4.5 wingspan, 9’3.5 standing reach. Both were about 240. Now I am not comparing him to Howard, just simply trying to show that he has the measurements to play the center position, a position of need for the Warriors. Andris doesn’t cut it and although Udoh has impressed me with his defense, his rebounding isn’t adequate for a center at this point. An Udoh Biyombo frontcourt, would complement the Warriors small scoring guards.  Part of me is dreaming of something down the road resembling the Thunder’s duo of Ibaka and Perkins. Snapping back to reality, he may not turn out as a pick, but he did play in the ABA. This year’s draft also happens to be weak. Kanter will be off the board and I like Biyombo better then the other two Europeans bigs to be honest. Thoughts?

I didn’t forget about Lee. But, drafting two tough defensive players who contest shots, in back to back drafts, would help show the change in cultural and bball philosophy in the front office that Larry Rilley is going for and will help make up for some of his defensive shortcomings.

I was thinking the Knicks would be the team stupid enough to reach for Biyambo, but your right Golden State and stupid just goes togather well. Case in point- Udoh over Greg Monroe, and Ed Davis. If Monroe was a Warrior he would be considered the best big out of that draft stats wise.

It wouldn’t surprise me if a lot of teams reached higher than normal for international talent, due to the weak draft and top prospects going back to school, but #11 seems WAY too high for this guy.  From what I’ve read he’s still very raw and wouldn’t be ready to play in the league for a few years, when you are GS and on the cusp of being playoff relevant, drafting a guy who could help put you over that edge would make more sense to me.

And you mentioned his measurments being near Dwight Howard, but they are also not quite as good as Saer Sene’s, Olawakandi, Chris Marcus, and John Riek. Eye dropping measurements are intriguing, but not always a good indicator if the guy is still "raw"

wouldn’t be a bad pick.  Looks like the West now is all about a LONG, BIG front line with scorers at the 1-3 spots, plus some shooters off the bench.

Someone’s gonna reach for this guy. Draft is weak on centers and that’s what most lotto teams need desperately

This would be a terrible pick. A 3 man rotation of Udoh, Biedris and Bismack, you have 3 guys who struggle to score in double figures. It’s nice to have good defensive front court, but you have to give the opponent some sort of threat offensively down the post. I would much rather prefer Jonas Valanciunas who has some potential offensively.

Let’s look at the past seven Warriors drafts

    Andris Biedrins (11th)

    Ike Diogu (9th)

    Chris Taft (40th)

    Patrick O’Bryant (9th)

    Kosta Perovic (38th)

    Brandan Wright (8th)

    Jermareo Davidson (36th)

    Stephane Lasme (46th)

    Anthony Randolph (14th)

    Richard Hendrix (49th)

    Ekpe Udoh (6th)

They have taken three guards in that span (Belinelli, Curry, and Ellis). Does anyone sense a trend in the type of big man the Warriors have gone for?

And while bad is not an incorrect answer, it is not what I am going for here.

Bismark would be a reach for GSW at 11, and with David Lee as their long term PF then would another frontcourt prospect be required as they are developing Udoh.

I’d like them to look at someone like Jimmer as he could play around Curry and Ellis and when drafting guards, the Warriors seem to have had more recent success.

I personally think that they should select Terrence Jones if he is on the board. Golden State is a horrible defensive team and need some good defenders.

id get terrance jones if he falls, and put dorell at the 6th man for some depth. start jones, but then it still doesnt solve the problem to get rid of beans.

I’m hoping for Jonas or Jan, or, if a miracle happens, we move up and get Kanter. Not really a big fan of Bismack just because he’s so raw right now and has almost no post moves.

Definitely don’t want Jimmer; the man cannot guard a chair, and there’s already no limit to the number of defensively challenged guards on the Dubs. Don’t want another tweener either; does Jones count as one? He played PF a lot at Kentucky, right?

Oh, and shame on you ohcanada for taking shots at the Warriors for being a poorly run organization. How’re the Raptors doing as of late?

You want Terrence Jones….because Golden State is a bad defensive team? You think Jones allieviates that? Surely, you haven’t watched college basketball this year, because Terrence Jones is clearly a below average defender and was throughout the entire season.

Hilarious. Biyombo is going several spots higher than 11, maybe top 5. Man, I hope I’m wrong. Don’t think I am, though.

"Not really a big fan of Bismack just because he’s so raw right now and has almost no post moves."

Almost no post moves? Unless you count dunking off of two feet a post move, this guy has NO post moves.

    • Terrence Jones is not a good defender.
    • If Bismack goes top-5, somebody’s getting fired. That’s ridiculous.
    • Jimmer offers the Warriors nothing that Curry and Ellis don’t already.

Kanter or Vesely would be money, but I doubt either is available. Valanciunas seems like the best option, but the Warriors do not have a good history of developing bigs. Maybe Kawhi Leonard?

      No moves, eh?

Look at the spin move he puts on at 0:48…and then tell me he has no moves:

Wow, he turned 180 degrees to his left!

No post moves, and there’s not a shred of evidence that he’ll be even a mediocre offensive player at the next level.
