He said sign decline Chauncey Billups.

Sign Marc Gasol, trade TD for Ramon Sessions, draft Marcus Morris, sign Rudy Fernandez and re-sign Shawne Williams and Jared Jeffries

    Line Up

    Gasol/Stoudemire/Anthony/Fields/Sessions

    Turiaf/Jeffries/Morris/Williams/Fernandez/Rautins

I gotta admit he’s a lot more realistic than most New York fans on this site

    A for effort!

There’s no way the Knicks start the season with Rautins as their backup PG if they decline Billups and trade TD.

    Gasol will reup with Memphis

The best shot for the Knicks is to see if they can get their hands on Greg Oden.

Portland will have to pickup Andre Millers option because they won’t find anyone better and won’t want to lose an affordable asset for nothing.  Portland also needs to resign Patty Mills and pay their 1st round pick 1.5 mil for their current draft slot. When Portland traded for Gerald Wallace, they used their "disposable" expiring contracts. They can fill the rest of their roster with minimum guys or use their Midlevel to put themselves over the cap which wipes out the 3.7 million teams recieve for staying under the cap.   I know its a new CBA but does anyone really think the Cap will go up?  Therefore if the Knicks offer Oden a front loaded contract it likely won’t be matched because it will push Portland about 5 million into the Luxury tax…  A 4 year 40 million offer from the Knicks starting at 13 million and descending annually would actually be a 20 million 1st year cost to the Blazers once you factor in the lost 3.7 million and the tax payment.  The Blazers did this to the Jazz when signing Mathews.

DeAndre Jordan should be plan B.

Are you serious with your 40 MILLIONS offer, front loaded at 13 MILLIONS(without the cap space needed).

It’s dead for the future with 2 of the top 5 forwards in the game, 2 max contracts, no cap, no traid baits, no other all star player in his prime coming, a PO team, not much more…

    Good intentions, bad idea…that blockbuster.

    Do the maths.

I think it would be better if the knicks went and got someone like Nene at Center. Let Billups and use the rest of the contract money left over to sign Chris Paul or Deron Williams. Both will want to come and leave their respected places. Drafting Marcus Morris would be good, he’d be a solid backup to Amare. They can probably keep Azuibuike instead of signing Fernandez. (I wouldn’t mind seeing them get Fernandez but I don’t think they will have enough money), resign Shawne Williams. And Douglas is still a good backup and can have his good games here and there. (I don’t know why so many people are saying trade him.)

Their roster would look like this:

    • CP3/Toney Douglas/Rautins
    • Fields/Azuibuike or Fernandez
    • Melo/S. Williams
    • STAT/Morris
    • Nene/Turiaf/Jeffries

I don’t think Portland will give up Oden that easy and nor do I think the Mavs will give up Chandler that easy. Same with Grizzlies, They like Gasol and will defintely keep him. They may even let Randolph go a and sign another Center this season and use Gasol as a PF instead. The Nuggets want to Nene and he wants to stay as well but I don’t see why you would do that if you are trying to rebuild, I also think the Nuggets will have a hard time resigning him, because they still have other players to resign as well and also continue rebuilding there team. So that’s why I think Nene would be a better option then Chandler, Gasol, or Odom.

Gasol will get way more money from other teams then from the Knicks. The Knicks are locked up for a while with STAT and Melo.

It would be pretty funny if the Knicks could somehow sign away Nene, but manage to hang on to Billups aswell.  It might make that Denver trade appear alot more even.

Chandler, Jordan and Nene are all UFA’s.  None of them are max guys so if a better situation presents itself for comparable money I think they’d take a look.

    Oden is restricted.

I hate those darned Knicks.  Reggie Miller showed them and their Spike Lee who is the real "playa, yo."  My fourth grandson, Jerry taught me that term.

They cannot get rid of toney douglas. that kid fits dantonis system better than most of the players in it. and its a reason the coach loves him. Not only is the kid a good scorer and shooter but he actually plays DEFENSE on a mike dantoni team
