One a couple of sites is says that the tweet said Tristan Thompson from Brewster H.S hired a agent. I know Tristan went to Findley so i decided to do some digging and found out that North Texas has a Tristan Thompson. Now i doubt that a high standing site like this and a couple other sites made this dumb mistake so I’m guessing both players hired a agent

Tristan Thompson(Texas) never went to Brewster. He went to high school in Canada for his freshmen year, then St. Benedicts in N.J. for sophmore and junior, then Finley for his senior.

Tristan Thompson from North Texas was born in Texas and there is a Brewster County in Texas so maybe your on to something, but I doubt a legit site like this would make a stupid mistake like that.

Lol this has the makings of a hilarious screw up, especially since it was documented that Aran Smith said Tristan Thompson would be staying.

Yeah. I was looking up a resturant in Texas and the North texas player tweet popped up so i was like " this could be trouble"

That’s interesting, but I’m sure Aran and Co did the research to prove Thompson is entering the draft.

the link says sources close to the situation, I doubt a "tweet" or facebook page would be considered a source close to the situation, so I doubt Aran got this wrong.

The guy for Hoopsworld has just been bashing nbadraft.net with all of his recent tweets. Kind of coming off like a d-bag.

Quentin Haynes I saw your tweet to Ed Isaacson, you are big time now.  LOL.

I too agree that some thickness has been added to the plot.

The Hoops Report on NBADraft.net – "The NBADraft.net story has no sources or quotes and they’ve never had any actual accurate reports ever, not once that I can remember."

"If you read their archives, you’ll very rarely find one accurate prediction. They claim they know, but it’s always a lie."

"LOL, not true for all of us. Some of us are honest and actually work hard. @DraftExpress does a great job."

"It looks like they deleted most of their inaccurate articles with guarantees and promises. There used to be a bunch."

"They always make stuff up. I’ve seen someone from there once ever covering something. That site is such a sham."

"Only reason people go to that site is cuz they got lucky with a great URL and were the first mock draft site like 12 yrs ago."

"It’s such a joke to the rest of us who try to work hard and do honest reporting. They make stuff up to get attention every yr."

"No offense but … NBADraft.net has never had any actual accurate reports ever."

As a loyal (and the largest) fan base, we should organize a mass riot against anybody who doubts us.

We should all make btownkid accounts and spam his site with John Bryant hype.

I’d organize one only if those comments are wrong. I wouldn’t back anyone if those things were said about a person, site and it turned out to be true. I dont care much cuz i don’t look to this site for my information on basketball. I only come here for the chat. i have noticed through time alot of prediction or info from sources have been deleted through the years

Yeah, but NBAdraft.net made up for all those inaccurate reports by pegging Deshawn Stevenson as the next Michael Jordan before anyone else. Talk about prophetic.

    Just sayin.

I wouldnt hold them saying Stevenson is the next M.J against them because thats there personal opinion. Everyone has thought someone was gonna become some star and they ended up not panning out

"Thompson mentioned during the NCAA Tournament that he is definitely staying at least another year and that he’s already signed up for summer classes (one thing worth noting about that is that the UT summer course schedule has not come out yet…"

    HAHA!

    The way I see it…

    1. Thompson’s mother does not want people to know her son is already planning on entering the draft, so soon after promising to come back.
    2. Aran’s source was wrong or lying.
    3. There was no legit source to begin with.

If it was Situation #3, Aran would have likely pulled the article or posted a retraction by now (or he will soon).

    I guess time will tell.

plus Ryan Feldman of the hoopsreport pointed out this article here as a time Aran and the site got it wrong:

His Twitter is where I got those quotes from.

Still, sources can be misleading for the benefit of their prospect. Rumors of promises are common on every site in June, and very few of them turn out to be true. I think that New Jersey planted that rumor because they knew the Timberwolves wanted Johnson and were trying to get some value to swap the 3rd and 4th picks.

Also, here’s some quotes from Ed Issacson from NBADRAFTBLOG

@ Well its a 50/50 thing – I have talked to NBA guys who feed them bad info on purpose.

@ No, I get that and has anyone checked to see if it was actually that other Tristan Thompson who was a Sr
@ I no, I read it too – My guess was it was the senior, no one did their homework and just posted it

Man. I’m starting to believe this is a mix up.

This article was posted the day of the draft and was pretty much on the money http://www.nbadraft.net/draft-day-draft-buzz-0. All mock draft websites will be fed lies to cast some smoke to make some player seem like they won’t be available.  Saw a tweet by Ed Isaacson saying he saw a team feed some bs to Jonny G at DX and he posted it within a couple of minutes, and then Ed said these execs were laughing upon seeing it.

NBADRAFT.net was asked if they made a mistake and they said that they stand by what they reported and that they are 99% sure that they are right
