Congrats to St. Johns on another big win this season. After this win I think it needs to be talked about that Steve Lavin should be the Big East Coach of the Year. The guy has done an unbelievable job with players that are not even his. They are 9-5 in the Big East which is usually the best conference in America, or no worse than the 2nd or 3rd best conference. He has marquee wins over UConn, Georgetown, Notre Dame, Duke, and now Pitt. The team can’t do worse thatn 500 in conference, and has now likely punched there ticket to the Big Dance. I think Lavin deserves the honor.

    Thoughts??

Between Lavin, Pitino and Calhoun IMO. All overachived with thier teams this season. Right now? I’m going Lavin, but I wouldn’t be shocked if Pitino won it because he had a ton of his players hurt this season and still doing well.

It’s between Lavin and Pitino. Calhoun has struggled in Big East play, and a lot of the times it’s been all Kemba Walker more so than Calhoun. When Kemba plays well the team plays well. As for Pitino he’s doing a great job, but I think what Lavin is doing is just amazing b/c it is not even with his own players, that’s great coaching. The guy can be in the running for National Coach of the Year as well, not out of the question.
