sheltwon3ParticipantThey could possibly beat Chicago if they were to make the Melo trade. Things could get really interesting with them also possibly meeting Miami/Boston in the second round depending on who wins out in the East. Miami is 2 game behind. I can see it now, Knicks beat Bulls to have a Melo/Amare duel with the trio of Wade/Lebron/Bosh. That would be insane but very possible. This is not to boost up the Knicks as to look to some possible sick playoff matches. I know it is early but this popped in my mind after watching the standing and hearing about Melo trade rumors

NYCrealdealParticipantto be honest a HEALTHY bulls team would kill us down low noah and boozer would engulf every single rebound
the only way i see us winning any of those series is if we trade for a quality big man who can grab rebounds and play d or if mozgov can continue his play

OhCanada-ParticipantHa thats funny. Bulls would sweep you guys and have Amare averaging 35-ppg, and 6-rpg. The Melo trade isnt happening because you guys are going to sign him. Even with Melo all those teams are going to beast you in the paint.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI think they should sign Melo in the off season. Right now they should trade guys like Toney Douglas and Wilson Chandler for some size.

OhCanada-ParticipantEven if they could grab a guy like Kaman for Chandler and Curry that would be a great deal for them. But then how would they get the money to sign Melo? Hmmmm. Gasol is an restricted FA next year, I like the sound of a Felton, Fields, Anthony, Stoudemire, Gasol/ Galinari, Douglas, type team. Then they would compete with Chicago.

Ghost01ParticipantIf the Melo trade were to happen, either
A. The Knicks would play there way into the 4/5 seedor
B. They wouldnt be that great, and the Bulls would still cruch them.

sheltwon3ParticipantI looked at their schedule even with Melo, ATL or Orlando would have to choke to lose their positions. Also I know Bulls are looking good but New Yorks has beaten them with Noah. You guys dont think that a Melo/Amare led team could not beat the Bulls. We will see but remember if it goes down, i was on it first. Also why would Knicks try to get Chris Kaman. That would be a stupid move. The reason Clippers dont want him is the same reason he would be terrible for New York.

K.LOVE THE ALLSTARMakes more sense to wait till the offseason. they wont be getting close to a title this year with Melo so why not wait till the offseason when you don’t have to pay him max money since you don’t know how next seasons cap will be. They trade for him no then later find out what the cap will be and end up not having any money to sign anyone else for the next couple of years

HitsterParticipantIf Chicago get everyone fit then I would say they edge the Knicks at the moment assuming that the Knicks don’t get Melo before the end of the season. Just making the play-offs will be a good feat for the Knicks this year and at 26-24, they are in a good position to do so.
