valentineBrandon Knight vs Kyrie Irving
The premier guard matchup at camp tilted in favor of the Floridian as Knight scored 15 points (1 assist, 1 rebound) in a head to head with Irving (5 points, 1 assist). Knight’s length on defense hindered Irving and kept him out of the lane. In the second half, Knight was dialed in offensively. Kendall Marshall vs. Joe Jackson: This was savvy versus speed and speed came out on top though both played well. Marshall’s vision is his best asset and he’s an unselfish guy at the point. In the first half, his passing was on point. In the second, Jackson shook loose, defended and finished. A one-handed, lefty dunk proved his point as one of the most athletic backcourt players here. Josh Selby vs Kyrie Irving, PG: In terms of street cred, he’s the guy the other kids look to for reassurance. He’s punched his player’s card here. He and Kyrie Irving laced them up and traded buckets. Selby forces guys to play so hard against them because he’s in constant attack mode. He threw some passes in the all-star game that were high level. Irving, who struggled on the first day, found his confidence and got his game back on track. How’d he do it?
