TRC1991ParticipantThere are presumably 4 options for the final spot
Since it was announced Griffin will start in place of Yao, that leaves 1 spot on the western conference roster for the last player.
the candidates:
F-Lamar Odom, LA Lakers
Stats: 15.4 ppg, 9.6 rpg, 57% FG, 2.9 apg
F-LaMarcus Aldridge, Portland
Stats: 21.3 ppg, 9 rpg, 1.2 bpg, 49% FG
F-Kevin Love, Minnesota
Stats: 21.4 ppg, 15.5 rpg, 47% FG, 44% 3PT
F-Zach Randolph, Memphis
Stats: 20 ppg, 13.2 rpg, 49% FG, 1.5 apg
who do you guys think deserves it? my vote is for Kevin Love

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI’m hoping it’s K-Love but it can very well be LaMarcus Aldridge because his team is winning.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantStern most of the time picks a guy alot of fans overwhelmingly say deserves to be there..I think he’s picking Kevin Love

mikeyvthedonParticipantI have stated my case before, and if he did make it I would be happy with every single ASG sub, which would probably be a first. My vote would be LA, Kevin Love, Z-Bo and Lamar Odom in that order. In a different world, Lamar Odom would have been an All-Star multiple times by now, but I am pretty sure he is fine with having some jewelry instead, which the other 3 are far and away from getting.

RUDEBOY_Participanti know not many true fans care what race a player is as long as he’s good..But i bet behind closed doors..There are alot of white fans and whites media types love the fact that a white player is having a record breaking year…

joecheck88ParticipantA source has mentioned(I believe it was yahoo’s Adrian Wojanowski(SP?) via BTPH on another post) that Steve Nash is a favorite for the spot. So I guess that’s a possibility. In my opinion, it should be Lamarcus Aldridge. If J Smoove wasn’t good enough then Lamar Odom isn’t, Blake took the bad team but good numbers spot so sorry to K Love. Zach Randolph has had more help and their teams are similar so I guess ZBo would be second in line. And that is my logic. 🙂

mikeyvthedonParticipantWho watched Kevin Love play in Oregon, that statement you just made Rudeboy, is ridiculous. If people or the media do, it is truly sad. Plus, as well as he is rebounding, who’s record is he breaking? Everyone mentions the 30-30 Moses Malone thing, but his team is AWFUL. Yes, the All-Star game is based on individual achievement, but a good way to prove that is by winning games. I am completely impartial when it comes to Love and Aldridge, I like them both the same, and I completely think Aldridge deserves to make the team. However, I feel race has NOTHING to do with who is chosen. I do not understand why race is seemingly brought into these things still, it is just mind boggling to me. A race trying to claim a player for pride, white people being happy that a white player is rebounding the ball well. You guys seriously care about this stuff? If Love makes the All-Star game, I think it has nothing to do with his being white and everything to do with his averaging 2 more RPG than any other player in the league.

BOBBYBOBBALBOAParticipantAll-Star Game is about excitement. Put exciting athletic and talented players in and leave the boring old ones. They put up stats and are on good teams, but that doesn’t make them exciting! Give them what they deserve in the All-NBA Teams and give us a show! I mean, really!

BigDParticipantI heard Blake Griffin is starting due to him being the next highest votes getter or something
0 - Posted on: Thu, 02/03/2011 - 6:32pm #482815

IndianaBasketballParticipantYea… I was about to say… Gasol hasn’t been as great since his hot start, but I still think he should replace Yao at center in the starting lineup.

IndianaBasketballParticipantHe ended up with more votes than Pau Gasol?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 02/03/2011 - 6:34pm #482818

llperezpau finished ahead of blake

nateoak10Participantcause Timmy might pass it up
So Monta, Love, LA, and Nash will fight for those spots
0 - Posted on: Thu, 02/03/2011 - 9:58pm #482875

OhCanada-ParticipantSo many Allstar calibur players whose teams are losing. I really feel for Monta, he is one of a kind and really doesnt get the recognition he deserves.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 02/03/2011 - 10:00pm #482876

omphalosParticipantI think Rudy Gay should be in consideration for his first All-Star nod, he’s having a great year, especially in close games where he’s hit a number of game-winners. That said, if it’s really a replacement for Yao, it should be Aldridge.
