Quincey HodgesI really think Deng needs to be mentioned in some of the catagories. There is a growing chant of him in the All NBA Defensive team by NBA players

ChrischiParticipantDefensive rebounding is also an aspect.
I think probably Lebron, Wade, Kobe could be first in many aspects. But they have to split their energy between offense and defense. Adding to this, they play 37mpg and more.
On the other hand Sefolosha’s main focus in on D and he plays only around 25-30mpg, so obv he puts a lot more energy on D and has to focus and D mainly. I think if you would give someone like Kobe or Wade the same circumstances they would be on his level.

IndianaBasketballParticipantPerimeter On Ball Defender: Artest is still the most physical defender, but he’s lost quickness. It’s between Aaron Afflalo, Thabo Sefolosha and Shane Battier. Gerald Wallace is in the conversation as well.
Transition Defender: LeBron James
Off-Ball Defender: LeBron James
Help/Weak Side Defender: LeBron James… or Josh Smith.
Help/Weak Side Shot Blocker: Dwight Howard
On Ball Shot Blocker: Andrew Bogut (Don’t sleep on Darko Milicic)
On Ball Low Post Defender: Kendrick Perkins
Defensive Rebounder: Kevin Love (Love and defense in the same sentence sounds crazy, but he’s the best defensive rebounder in the NBA right now)
Stealer: Chris Paul
Drawing Charges: Anderson Varejao
Pick and Roll Defender: Kevin Garnett
Most Versatile: Lamar Odom
Leader and Communicator: Kevin Garnett

IndianaBasketballParticipantGambling: Rajon Rondo (really good at playing high risk/high reward defense)
Impact/Defensive Anchor: Dwight Howard (his impact at the defensive end can’t really measured by blocks and defensive rebounds)
