From Ric Bucher’s ESPN chat…
goyo. keizer, oregon [via mobile]: Can the Blazers trade for Andre igaduala "Iggy" trade away miller and pryzbilla & a first rounder? Or who can Portland get to improve?
Ric Bucher (1:48 PM): Heard they offered Batum and Przybilla for Iguodala and Philly didn’t bite. My sense is they’ll move Roy before they move Miller.
Troy (Portland): Blazers have to move Roy, but how? What could they get in return?
Ric Bucher (1:49 PM): Don’t know what they could get. But I can tell you 7 or 8 teams already have called to find out.
Wow. Thoughts?

delfamParticipantI would’ve done that If I’m Philly, we need another center, that first rounder could be a lottery pick, and a backcourt of Holiday,Turner,Batum in the future would be pretty good.
The only thing is Philly is on a pretty good winning streak right now so I think there content to see where this roster takes them.

BKKnicksfanParticipantA 1st round pick wasn’t in the deal. The deal was Batum/Pryz for Iggy.

delfamParticipant^ ok, I probably would’ve declined that to then. Should be interesting to see what Portland does, it looks like there whole roster is up for trade this year.

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantnot only that there are deals like Andre Miller for Marcin Gortat.
http://ken-berger.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/11838893/26495904
Blazers were intending on calling up Antonio Daniels from the D-League but he got hurt.
http://sports.espn.go.com/dallas/nba/news/story?id=5928443
Also there were talks of Pryzbilla going to the Knicks.
Ever since the Oden news came out this team has gone downhill.

Mr. 19134ParticipantNo the one guy said could Portland trade away Miller, Joel, and a 1st round pick for Iggy which as a Sixers fan you would have to be crazy to do. We have already seen where the ball beating Miller will take us. With Holiday breaking up as the youngest starting PG in the league right now that move would make no sense for the Sixers unless a 3rd team got involved who wanted Miller and there are alot of suitors for him.
The Blazers should just offer us Oden for Iggy. I would take that gamble if I’m the Sixers because the reward is too great to pass up. And the Blazers with Miller, Roy, Iggy, Aldridge and Camby become very dangerous.
Or why not a straight up trade of Roy for Iggy? Roy is always hurt and Iggy and Miller have a lot of chemistry together they played amazing in Philly when they were together.

delfamParticipantI applaud the Blazers for trying to blow up there team. I’m not sure why more teams don’t do it. They know they team they have right now is injury-riddled and isn’t good enough to win a championship, but they still have valuable pieces. More teams need to blow there team up and not settle for just making the playoffs each year.

kobyzParticipanti would love to see Roy and Turner play together, now that Roy is more of an outside player it could be good match!

Tongue-Out-Like-23Participant^
It would be a HORRIBLE match. Their games mirror each others aside from Roy’s perimeter shooting. They both need the ball in their hands to score. It would be Miller and Roy all over again.

butidonthavemoneyI agree with Tongue-Out.
Roy + Turner would cause more problems than Iguodala + Turner.

Mr. 19134ParticipantNo it wouldn’t be more problems then Iggy plus Turner trust me because Iggy is more of a ball beater then people realize and doesn’t have a great outside shots. Roy atleast has an outside shot that would space the floor to Turner to drive. Iggy doesn’t space the floor in fact he is the opposite as teams load the middle up so he can’t get there and that makes it even harder for Turner. Teams won’t do that for Roy because he got a great outside shot now. Plus the more I see Turner play and rebound I’m starting to think his natural position is Small Forward. He can rebound with the best of them and has a nice post game plus he looks ripped this year he has obviously added a lot of weight to his frame.
And Deljam did you go to Temple or something? And that is the problem with the Sixers they are too content with just making the playoffs that is why we did not draft Favors like we should have.

butidonthavemoneyBrandon Roy is a better shooter, but he is WAY worse off the ball than Iguodala is.

iguapops420Participant^^^ Brandon Roy refuses to play off the ball. And I’m not sure why Philly would do this knowing Roy has no knees and is on and abismal contract. Again if I’m the sixers, I’d try and get a good young big preferably a 5 such as McGee or Oden and picks. Too good and young iggy is to just take snacks for him. Go big and let jrue, evan, and thad develop together.

SwatLakeCityParticipantMr. 191234, you could just have Roy space the floor and Iggy drive. This would actually be better because it would allow both players to do what they are good at. Roy and Turner would never do this because they are the same player and don’t compliment each other at all. Turner needs to stay in Philly because this is his first year. Trading him now would be like the Sixers are saying "we have seen enough of Turner and want him gone." They can’t have lost all of that trust they put in him when they drafted him that quickly.
I just posted what I would do with the blazers team in a different thread. I believe its called "Blazers: Role Play. So go and check it out.
I would probably trade Miller to the Hawks for Marvin Williams or to the Wolves for Wesley Johnson or to the Hornets for Trevor Ariza (Although I don’t think that would work.) or to Sac-town for Omri Casspi and Sammy Dalembert or to Memphis for Mayo and Thabeet, (Although with that I would include both Miller and Pryz, and a draft pick but only if Memphis insists that the blazers include one) or to the Wizards for Al Thornton and McGee. (Once again I would include Pryzbilla with Miller and also ask for a pick from the Wizards) I think that Wizards deal would be really nice and should work, either that one, the Hawks or the Grizz one.

Sonny RedParticipantSixers can’t do this trade. I’m not an Iggy fan but he has been playing good of late, and Batum and Pryzbilla do nothing for me. I wouldn’t trade Iggy for Roy either, and only because of problems Roy has with his knees, if he didn’t have those issues I would do it for in a minute. Sixers don’t need to stack up on draft picks either, this team has been bad for a long time, and has had plenty of picks. I’m not interested in more "rebuilding," there is some talent on this team now, and they need to get better by ways other then the draft. I don’t think we can trade Iggy because Turner hasn’t shown me enough to replace Iggy. Turner lost his job to Jody Meeks for christsake, a guy who is one dimensional. Turner didn’t even get off the bench against the Lakers tonight! He has no confidence, and neither does Dougie Collins! Only guy I would want from the Blazers roster is LaMarcus Aldridge, and aint no way the Sixers are getting him.

HaleParticipantThe only reason why Philly would’ve accepted Pryz/Batum for Iggy is if they had said "screw it, were rebuilding and developing Turner and building around him now." At this point I don’t think that would be the best option, so good thing they declined.

Mr. 19134ParticipantNo first off Philly would never do this trade because Thad Young is way better then Batum and we got Turner. Batum is never going to be anything extremely special in this league.
The only way I trade Iggy too is for an young defensive big man but I want more then just McGee or an Ibaka because Iggy has way more value then that. I don’t wanna just give him up because he is too good to just throw away but at the same time Turner really needs to develop and he won’t do that with Iggy here quick as we need him too.
Spencer Hawes has been playing extremely well. He held his own against Pau Gasol tonight with 18 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assists, and 3 blocks. And also shot lights out from 20 feet and made some amazing post moves and passes. I like Hawes a lot as a prospect because he is still only 22 years old and got a lot of potential left starting to finally be tapped by Doug Collins.
