Tonight Toronto plays another home game against a tough OKC sqaud. The Raptors have won 5 of their laast 7 and have quite the under the radar streak going for them right now. The one year fans have seemed to accept lack of effort, and ultimate failure with the return of a high draft pick, the Dino’s are outworking weaker teams and playing with a good chemistry and balance in the last 7 games. Teams are also not giving them much respect, chalking them off as an easy win. When Evans got injured in Boston it looked like this streak was fiinally going to end, although with Ed Davis’s emergence, the team seemed to have another spark, and more focus. Also their seems to be alot more energy and communication on the court.

Tonight the Raps are going to be challenged against a legit threat (even if Durant does not suit up). Ed Davis will get a chance to prove himself much better against OKC and Russell Westbrook who will try to get many layups splitting through the Raptors D. We will see how good a help defender Ed really is. If the team is really committed to winning, they should put forth a great effoprt and try to defeat a team playing once again without their overwhelming leader. On Toronto’s little streak they have defeated 4 teams well below average and a Boston Celtics team who was without Rondo, and not really into the game.

The Raps were 7-11 at the beggining of last Season as well, heres hoping we lose some games and actaully start giving are young players big minutes. We dont need another 40-41 season. Love to see the effort and progress of the young guys result in wins, but Id rather see the Raps get a 1st overall draft pick then a 13th…

Not a Raptors fan, but the Raptors are really overachiving. They look like one of the worst teams in the NBA on paper, but they come out with great intensity & effort which has helped them beat a few good teams like Boston & Orlando. But I agree with you that the Raptors need at least a top 5 pick. They do have some promising young talent, but IMO, none of those playersave the potential to be franchise players and they don’t have anybody that can just truly dominate. The Raptors have gotten a few nice wins lately, but I just don’t think that they are good enough to keep it, and soon, most Raptors fans will get their wish and will have one of the worst records in the NBA.

Your just mad because we broke your horrible wizards d lol. Im kidding I totally agree with you, but they are overachieving due to hard work. Also Raps have a great homecrowd and win alot of games at home 5 of 7. They are still just 2-7 on the road.

Ed Davis is going to probally start at C before the season ends. He is a physical presence, and does it without fouling. Alters all kinds of shots, and is a much better person to play at C then Evans, Johnson or Bargnani. He really needs to hit the gym thou and muscle up for it to work or we could see an injury plagued career.

Good read. This raptors squad really is one of best teams to watch in past years as a Raptors fan. With what they lack in talent and experience they make up for with a solid effort night in and night out, refreshing to see after Turkoglu’s era. I agree too, another mid first round pick won’t change our future too much, I would love to see Kyrie Irving in raptor red.

Haha please do. Ya as frustrating it has been the past year or so watching Jose attempt to play D, he really looks good out there. More than likely he’s finally 100% healthy, but as a playmaker he looks like how he did a few years ago, his D is still not the greatest but he’s talking more and atleast looks like he’s trying. I would like to see him shoot the ball more but ya pretty impressed with him this year. Only helping his trade value rise.

Andrea Bargnani played like a man in this game, one of his best performances from a rebounding perspective. I dont wanna say it is because of Ed Davis, but it is definitely clear that his effect on this team has been huge. Everyone is playing hardnose defense and more importantly PROTECTING THE RIM. Excuses are excuses, wins are wins, and losses are losses, but I have to say OKC particularly Westbrook looked to tireed to match Toronto’s intensity. Although that isnt an excuse if they took care of buisness against the Nets like the Raps took care of buisness against the Wizards they would have energy but they didnt.

Hardest working Toronto team ever BAR NONE.

111-99 for Toronto, even know they let Maynor stick a wide open jumper last possesion. Best game they played all year, even better then the Washington team. Everyones clicking, we have physical presences coming from all bigs in the post. I cant wait until this new look team plays a legit post team to see how the bigs can respond. Im pretty impressed. They outrebounded OKC 42 to 34, great job.. Held them to 43 percent from the field and shot 54 percent themselves. It doesnt look like they are gonna stop with the intensity and even if any player has a major injury it seems the team has enough depth to replace any player but Bargnani. overall if they play like this they could grab a 7th or 8th seed, but still is it worth it.

Good thing is that Toronto has Peja’s expiring and the trade exception from the Bosh trade so hopefully we can make a splash in free agency, either that or we get a high draft pick. I don’t want to finish and get another low lottery pick like we did last year.

I like how the Raptors have bounced back but  I am not surprise because they had a lot of young talent and Bosh loss is not like Lebron to Cleveland.  Cleveland really only had Lebron.  Raptors had more but for whatever reason could not win with or without Bosh and now they seem to have found so chemistry and with Weems, Derozan growth plus great play by Barbosa, Kleiza, and others.  They are not a bad team and if Bucks don’t wake up they will be the one to take that final spot.  It is looking like Indiana, New York, and Toronto will be the final 3 teams in whatever order.

It was a nice win for sure, but seriously whats the big deal, obviously they wont contend this season, and they really dont have much firepower to brag about, so im not too sure why this game is significant for a team that wont do anything, except maybe sneak in as a 7 or 8 and get swept by orlando or boston.
