Mr. 19134ParticipantOne the Sites updates Mock for the first time in a long time finally Harrison Barnes has lost his number one spot. But he didn’t fall far from grace as he is locked in at number 2 still. Perry Jones, who I have been championing for awhile to go one, is now the first pick on this site. This is the first site I have saw in awhile that has Perry Jones over Barnes and good for them. However when will Terrence Jones get the love? So far Terrence looks like the best Jones in the country and the best prospect being 18 still while Perry is 19.
Another interesting note is Irving dropping to 4 despite doing nothing but winning with Duke. Sullinger finally gets a top 3 spot and Derrick Williams has moved to number 6. I like Derrick Williams. He is playing out of his mind right now it is going to be interesting to see how well he continues to play.
And on another note can somebody tell me what is going on with Enes Kanter….Is he really ineligible and if he is where does he go from here? I imagine he has to play some competitive ball from now til the draft. Could you see Kanter playing in the NBDL for this season? I could.
I was really excited to see Kanter play this year and it is wrong what the NCAA is doing to him. You got a kid that is sacrificing millions of dollars, and already has missed out on mega bucks to come to college in America, if you’re the NCAA don’t you have to give the kid a break? You got Brandon Jennings, and Jeremy Tyler skipping college completely would they rather have that. By not allowing Kanter to play you are closing the door on European bigs who wanna come to the states for school because nobody wants to go thru want Kanter is going thru. Shame on the NCAA.

Mr. 19134ParticipantSo Kanter has been ruled ineligible and Kentucky is about to appeal the case. I think the whole story is ridiculous just let the kid play. He didn’t go out his way to collect money and in fact turned a lot of money down to come to America and play. I wanna see more European come to America to play prep and college ball here. If anything it makes scouting everybody easier because you get to see everybody play the same competition.
Anyways it’s going to be interesting to see what happens if he remains ineligible. If he Kanter were allowed to play I think he’s a surefire top 5 pick with the potential to be the first pick in the draft. If he’s not allowed to play I have no idea what his draft status would be. Would he stay at Kentucky and resume classes? Or would he leave school and try to sign in another league? I would def leave school if I were him it I wanted to get my draft status back.
Josh Selby will be allowed to play on December 18th. I don’t know why Josh Selby is not on the updates Mock but he is about to explode on the college scene I promise it. Steve Francis 2.0

mj23mj23besteverParticipantwould he even be allowed to play in nbdl or would the rule about having one year in college not be the same with the dev league

lalailaParticipantlike that Williams and Hamilton got some love(actually even i don’t have Derrick so high)
Perry over Barnes?hmmm..another under 10pts for Harrison and 16/13/2 from Perry looks like they keep playing at the same level(Perry’s start actually is better) so when we add his crazy potential i would say YES i agree..but like someone mentioned i like other Jones even more..but people are still afraid to put predicted late lottery talent to the top so i’m still happy he is up to top5 now..
after that i like it..

B FreeParticipantYou are allowed to go from high school right to the NBDL there is no rule against it and Lataviuos Williams did it last year and was drafted in the second round after not going to school , he was a top ten recruit.

SwatLakeCityParticipantyes Terrance Jones has been playing outstanding ball, but the first pick is for those players who are once in a lifetime talents. Terrance is not that type of player, nor will he ever be. So Perry is the right pick. He will probably be the lock #1 pick by the time the draft rolls around in late June. I expect Terrance to be in the top 5 though.

JoeWolf1I think Williams is a lottery pick, but #6 a little high, he isn’t an NBA first option type guy and an average rebounder even at the college level. He is a ball player and I really like his skill set, but IMO I like it in the 9-13 range.

sammybuckeye13ParticipantI agree that Terrence Jones is not a once-in-a-lifetime talent, but I disagree on the logic that first picks are once-in-a-lifetime-talents; they are not, because there’s one every year. We’ve just been spoiled over the last 8 or so years.
That said, Terrence Jones is my guy right now, especially if we’re going on play thus far, as this site appears to be. The numbers don’t lie (21.2/10.2/2.8 blocks/1.6 steals) and he plays a lot like an NBA player in college, and he just figured out last game that he can practically hit threes at will. To me his only limitation seems to be his foot speed, but he is very comfortable getting to his spots and is relentless taking the ball to the basket. When he learns to get shots off quicker he could be the country’s most complete wing.

Meditated StatesParticipantBarnes will do fine in the Pro’s, but I like what Perry Jones is doing. I really got good vibes on that kid. Like I said he averages 16pg,8-10reb,2,asst,1.5blks the kid is my 1st pick.

Mr. 19134ParticipantI disagree about Terrence Jones completely. First off the whole once in a lifetime type talent is a little weird and John Wall and Kevin Durant are the only two players that I can think of that even fit that bill in the past 5 years. Even Blake Griffin’s talent has been seen before with Shawn Kemp, Mcdyess, and Amare. Tho Blake is faster then all them players he is very similar.
But for somebody to say that Terrence Jones is not playing like "I Gotta Tank The Season And Win The Lottery To Get Him Type Talent" must not of watched him play. Carmelo Anthony comes to mind. Melo wasn’t considered the best player in his age group when he went to college. Melo was considered a pure scoring forward with good not great athletic ability and kinda selfish. Well he won the NCAA’s by dominating college as a freshman and never looked back. Terrence Jones was crazy good in high school. He was Mr. Oregon as a JR and Senior, his H.S. team only lost like 4 games in four years with him, and his numbers were outstanding. Nobody knew he was quite this good but this is why we play the games. Jones is a 6’9 forward who could start at either Small or Power Forward. At the Nike Hoop Summit his wingspan was measured at 7’2 which is very good. He got handles and passing ability like a guard, but the pure strength and tenacity of a power forward. He can score from virtually anywhere on the court. And unlike Melo he plays very good defense and will get you a lot of blocked shots and steals. And above all things the kid plays a relentless type of basketball and just keeps attacking. He attacks the boards and the paint. He is going to be very special. And let’s not forget he is still only 18. He is very young, even Perry Jones is already 19. So Terrence Jones body still has a lot of maturing to do and he could even grow an inch.
Jared Sullinger reminds me a lot of Kevin Love only with better scoring ability. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him go number one primarily because of the success Love is having as an undersized chubby lost post player. Love is proving that length and athleticism aren’t everything and is dominating the league rebounding wise in a way we haven’t saw since Rodman. Not even Howard has done the things Love is doing.

Mr. 19134ParticipantWhere do you guys think Kanter will end up?
And Latavious Williams was the first player to skip college and go straight to the D-league before entering the draft. You just can’t go to the NBA for reason’s of #Idunnoknowhy. Then you get somebody like Kanter who wants to go to college and they won’t let him. I hate the NCAA.
Anyways i think Kanter can still go top 5. It is going to be interesting because I can’t remember the last time a player entered the NBA draft without having played competively in like 2 years in any league.
