Let’s not get carried away with Kemba Walker just yet (remember Jeff Teague)

Thats not a bad comparison but i believe Jeff teague went mid first round and is a key part of the hawks future so thats nothing to complain about. Kemba is gonna be a lotto to mid first round pick after its all said done.

Although I never really expected Walker to average 30 ppg the whole year.

yea i dont either and a couple of people dont but there are some that think he will and are ready to crown him first team allamerican or player of the year now. If the season ended now then yeah they have a great case, but conference season hasnt started yet and thats where we findd out what a player is really made of.

imo hell still score around 22 to 25 a game but hes not putting up 30 a night in the big east imo

kemba def. wont avg. 30 ppg the rest of the yr… maybe around 21-25 ppg… which is great for a guard of his size and playin in the big east

Yea I highly doubt his #s stay at this level, but its early in the season, and hopefully those younger guys start gaining more confidence so he won’t have to score 30 per. Yea the Big East is just too tuff. But with that said, he’ll have a great season nonetheless. I see him as sort of a will bynum at the next level. I think there extremely similar in terms of their frames and game and athleticism. I don’t see Kemba projecting as a starting point guard, as he’s naturally a guy looking for his. He’ll be a nice spark plug of a bench, and may start in the league a couple years but will be better served as a reserve. His game has definitely improved and he looks so comfortable and under control out there. It’s really amazing to see after watching him at Rice HS and in his 1st two years at Uconn. I’m so happy for this kid, has really worked hard to get to this point. But hey, lets not jump the gun with the Big East schedule still awaiting. This league is tough and can  humble you real quick .

Thinking about it, his season is looking EERILY similar to that of Jeff Teague’s when Teague was a Soph. He’s a very comparable player to Teague as well. I think this about as perfect a comparable situation as there has been in a while. I think Walker will average around 18 or 19 ppg and 4 apg at the end of the year. It’s certainly unreasonable to expect him to light it up for the whole season this way. Especially with the advanced scouting that will come in Big East play, and the fact that teams will start trapping him on ball screens sooner rather than later (Michigan State (very suprisingly), Kentucky, and Wichita State all have done a poor job of this…..Even I know you trap screens when you have someone dynamic guard off the bounce like Walker and mediocre at best guys setting the screens to free him up). Look for minor adjustments like this to be made by the time the conference swing starts, and look for Walker’s production and easiness to operate to decrease because of it.

I am from the New England area and I love UCONN,but He is more of a scoring point who wil be good off the bench in the NBA. I like the way he plays though,great leader.

Kemba should dominate Kalin Lucas cuz Lucas is not a pro IMO. He is a good college player and there is nothing wrong with that,but he is not a pro.

I remember one of the things really questioned about Teague was his ability to run a team and be a playmaker, i think everybody knew he could score the ball, where as i think Kemba has shown he can run the team last year and his biggest knock wus his jumpshot along with his strength from a draft prospect standpoint. I can see the dj Augustine thing but i dont think hes a better Augustine. Don’t forget he has a year on Augustine and i could see D.J putting up similar numbers if he would have came back to college for his Jr year

 Good comparison, although I think Kemba is quicker than Teague, but cant rise and finish above the rim like Teague can……

Kemba does have more natural PG skills than Teague. Last year his game was penetrate and dish or go to the line. He has more PG potential than Teague IMO.

I dont think Kemba Walker is going to get 30 ppg ll year but the talent will be evident and I doubt his stock will drop off that much. I believe he makes a statement and competes for National Player of the Year.
