SwatLakeCityParticipantOk I am puzzled. What the freak has happened to OJ Mayo fantasy wise? Last year and the year before, this kid was a flat out stud in the fantasy game, so I got him on my team this year, and so far he is totally stinking up the court. What happened? Why has his numbers gone down big time all of a sudden?
Last year he averaged: 17.5 ppg, 3.8rpg, 3apg, a steal per game and shot about 38% from 3 point range.
This last week he has averaged: 11.3ppg, 3 rpg, 2.7apg, 0.3spg, and a 3 per game. What the freak happened to all those points, and steals?
I read in the notes about him that Coach Hollins benched him for a game, but ESPN said that he was probably just taking a look at new rookie Xavier Henry. So I thought, no big deal; next game, Mayo will probably start. Shouldn’t affect his averages. Nope big mistake, now I have an underperforming player who I thought was a stud. You would think that Mayo would benefit from the great season that teammate, Mike Conley, is having so far; but I guess not. Somebody please explain why his numbers have gone down. (I have already put him up for grabs, and I have a trade offer that I hope will be accepted, I am really getting tired of these subpar performances.)
Note: I usually keep stats on "latest 7 days" because since Fantasy games run weekly, I find that more accurate as to telling me how a player is doing.

Meditated StatesParticipantMust become a better outside shooter. He is a tweener who needs to just be a shooting guard who can also help at the point at times. Was a non factor vs the C’s last night. Vasquez is a more deadly shooter and the team played better with him on the court than with Conley or Mayo. Really.

fastdanParticipantI owned him in his rookie year in a fantasy league, and I remember him being very incosistant. But he’s always going to be overrated in fantasy since he can’t get to the line, and doesn’t have a good assist:turnover ratio. People fall in love with his shooting and youth, but he probably hit his fantasy peak after his first month his rookie year.

SwatLakeCityParticipantSure, just when I put him on the trade block he gets 17pts, 3 threes, 3 boards, and actually has a decent game. Now if can just average that for 2 straight weeks, and I might take him off. Doubt it though.
