Zan TabakParticipantPersonally i think it is the Raptors, my team unfortunately…
I was scanning my brain to think of a squad with less present and potential talent than the Raps and I honesty cant think of one. We may (and may is a big stretch) win more games than the Kings or the Twolves in 2011, but even they have at least a couple blue chips prospects (Tyreke, Cousins KLove sorta Flynn n Wes Johnson).
Demarr has the athleticism to develop into an elite player but has a very long ways to go in terms of improving his ball skills other than that the cuboard is bare in terms of elite potential (and no bargs does not have "elite" potential
The cavs are the only other team i can think of, but even they have a boatload of pics
what yall think?

omphalosParticipantYeah being a Raptor fan right now must suck, especially given that the lockout might screw up their chance to draft someone like Harrison Barnes on their down year.
Its going to be hard being a Celtic fan like me in two years when most of the roster retires and we are left with bench players + Rondo, Perkins and an old Pierce.

PHILA9ParticipantI know what you mean, i’m a huge fan of the Toronto Raptors and I love Derozan as well as Ed Davis so there is potential there but their coaching staff doesn’t seem to know what they’re doing, and putting all this love and time into Bargnani doesn’t look like its working out for them, he’s inconsistent on offense and well his defense is whatever you guys think..
I honestly think if Bryan Colangelo used that #1 pick on a defensive big man like Brook Lopez type or even a wing player like Brandon Roy type, Chris Bosh scenario could’ve been a different situation. Instead they draft a Big man that likes it out on the perimeter like Chris Bosh and also plays the same position as your star player and try and mold him into a 5..
But I am also a huge fan of the Chicago Bulls lol

Toronto16ParticipantAs least the Raptors have young talent. What do the Cavs have to look forward to?

Zan TabakParticipantyoung talent? on the raptors? Demar is aiiiiiight but needs a ton of seasoning he is our only player with all star potential (no I didnt forget Bargs), Ed Davis couldnt stay healthy in college or on the playground this summer and even when he was healthy he was far from dominant despite being counted on to be the #1 option on last years young ‘heels team.
JJ Hickson will be every good this year, lo pro candidate for most improved, plus the Cavs will win more games than we will this year aaaaaand they do have a boatlad of pics, but your right Cavs furture looks very grim as well, prolly a toss up between the two

Im Your FatherParticipantYea I’d say the only team that has a worse outlook is the Cavs. They may be better this year, but their best players are old, and were never really the type to carry a team anyway. At least the Raptors have some semblance of young talent, albeit below average young talent.

GalamothParticipantDetroit is in a pretty dismal situation. They have very good players who are on the latter portions of the career, bad contracts, and no hope of winning a title while Rip and Prince can still play.
Is a core of Stuckey, Bynum, Daye and Monroe really something you can get excited about..

HitsterParticipantDenver’s future may not be great with Kroenke transfering ownership to his son, having brought the St Louis Rams for nearly a billion dollars and probably eventually gaining majority ownership of Arsenal F.C which is valued at $1.2 billion, he may look to cut costs or make Denver a lower priority especially if Melo leavies next summer.
Indiana had very low crowds last season and were losing a load of money and even in the JO/Reggie Miller era apparently lost money, hopefully the new deal that the owners did as regards the use of Conseco Fieldhouse has stabilised finances a bit and as the younger roster develops maybe the crowds will come back.

Anton123ParticipantI really think it’s the Cavs, I have supported them for quite a while now, I mean the Raptors might at least be exiting to watch with Weems, Derozan, Johnson delivering constant highlights, but the Cavs just look plain dull, old and bad.
The Bobcats seem like quite a bad team to be a fan of, I mean they don’t really have much young talent (Henderson, Augustin and Livingston?) and they seem to be one of those teams that will be medicore for quite a while but will not have a chance to be really good anytime near in the future, it’s like they mock you with getting in the playoffs and lose in the first round all the time.
As I am foreign I don’t really feel obliged to be a fan of one team in particular, I will always follow the Cavs and Raptors, but next year I think I’ll spend most of the time watching OKC, Washington, Milluakee and Houston (don’t know why, I somehow love the roster).

Zan TabakParticipantill take Stuckey, Bynum, Daye and Monroe over Jack, Derozan, Bargnani and Ed Davis any day, but yeah detroit lookes rough
Colangelo and Dumars are two GMs everyone was calling genius 2-3 years ago, now could be jockeying for wost GM in the NBA title soon, although Kahn does seem to have a perennial stranglehold on that one…..KAAHHHHHNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!! – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRnSnfiUI54
Denver and Indiana are lightyears better than the raps or cavs Hitser not even close

WizardofOzParticipantIt really sucks to be a Cleveland fan right now. They have a few solid players that might help them win a few more games right now, but their future is not at all bright. Jamison is good, but he is aging and has an enormous contract. I think they should try to trade Jamison and Williams to a team that is trying to win now for some young talent and picks, but I doubt that they would make a trade like this because they have an owner with a huge ego that is only going to make them worse. Dan Gilbert said that his team will win a championship before LeBron does, which will never happen. Since he still wants to win now, I can see him making a trade before the trade deadline for someone that he thinks can push the Cavs over the hump, someone like Gilbert Arenas, and they might be willing to give up draft picks in order to acquire someone like that, which IMO would be a bad move because they might have a top pick this year. The Cavs don’t have a lot of young talent with the exception of Hickson, but I think this team needs to start rebuilding. They need to start fresh and acquire young talent via trades and through the draft and build for the future instead of trying to win now when they don’t have the roster to do it.

Raef LaFrentzParticipantNo one say Minnesota. If you do, I’ll get angry.
But for real, I’m definitely excited about the Wolves this season.
Please don’t think this post is sarcastic. It isn’t.

Mr. 19134ParticipantIm super excited for Mike Beasley and got a bet with my roommate that he’ll average over 17 points this year personally I think he could go for 20 and Kevin Love is a stud. I just hate the Wes Johnson pick.
The Cavs are def the worse team.
And the Sixers are hard to root for because we are stuck in basketball limbo.
Too good to get a top pick and not good enough to go anywhere in the playoffs if we even get there.
And the once chance they had to get a franchise talent "Demarcus Cousins" we screwed that up…UGH
