Jerry Zgoda reports from Mankato that Kevin Love has been sent back to the Twin Cities for an MRI of his swollen right knee. No further details on Love’s condition are available at this time.

Newcomer Michael Beasley said all that mattered was Love’s availability for the coming season.

"We don’t need him for this," Beasley said of training camp. "We need him for all 82."

Love averaged 14 points and 11 rebounds last season, and was a reserve on Team USA’s gold-medal winners at the world championships recently.

Jerry will jump on here early this afternoon for more updates from camp.

Yes, he had knee problems during high school. That’s why I don’t understand why he doesn’t stay in the best possible shape. I’ve consistently said he’s an injury waiting to happen.

People just assume that he played less than 30 minutes per game last season because Rambis didn’t like him… No… It’s because his endurance wasn’t that great. It still isn’t.

With that being said, I hope this is nothing serious.
