     1.  Jason Smith will be a different player with CP3.

    2.  With all of the training camp invites, even Chris Quinn gets invited, where are guys like McCants, G. Green, or even Mike Gansey??

    3.  The trade that happened between the 76ers and the Hornets was a trade to set up another trade.

    4.  Little known fact:  In the past 20 years, only 2 number 1 picks have won championships…

    5.  I have a new respect for Kobe since they won this last championship.

    6.  People are saying "These recent trades are showing CP3 that he Hornets are committed to winning."  I dont think they have proved anything yet.. The holes that they had before, are still there.. Except now, there is no backup PG and there is still no player that can create for himself.. Please dont say Ariza can because of what he did with Houston.. Give me the ball every other trip up the floor with the green light, and I can score in the NBA…

    7.  Its still too early to start fantasy guys.. Lets see at least one 1 preseason game and see who even makes the cut for teams..

    8.  Dampier needs to sign with the Heat if they are going to compete with the Lakers. Joel Anthony cant be the starting C on a championship team.. Please dont ever compare him to Kendrick Perkins..  Joel doesnt intimidate anyone.. I like the guy but he cant get it done…  I just hope they dont cut Da’Sean Butler for him..

Ya, I definately dont know how this tell CP3 they are committed to winning. Solid acquisitions, yes, but are they going to make a difference on wheter CP3 stays or not? I doubt it because I dont think these moves make NO a playoff team.

    1. Jason Smith will be a different player with CP3.————maybe, not holding my breath though. Songaila was actually very sold for them and not sure this is much of a step up.

    2. With all of the training camp invites, even Chris Quinn gets invited, where are guys like McCants, G. Green, or even Mike Gansey??—————–no idea though i dont spend much time thinking about who is gonna be the 14th man on a roster.

    3. The trade that happened between the 76ers and the Hornets was a trade to set up another trade.———–not sure this trade opens up a bunch of doors for future movements.

    4. Little known fact: In the past 20 years, only 2 number 1 picks have won championships…————– interesting point

    5. I have a new respect for Kobe since they won this last championship.———-i dont have new respect, i have a sigh of relief since even worst case scenario he will be remebered as a 5x champion who beat the celtics and did it multiple times without shaq

    6. People are saying “These recent trades are showing CP3 that he Hornets are committed to winning.” I dont think they have proved anything yet.. The holes that they had before, are still there.. Except now, there is no backup PG and there is still no player that can create for himself.. Please dont say Ariza can because of what he did with Houston.. Give me the ball every other trip up the floor with the green light, and I can score in the NBA… ——–disagree, there biggest weakness for year were guys who could produce on the wings. Heck when morris petersen is starting, jannero pargo is your number one backup and peja is the guy who decides how far you can go, thats not good. But now they have an improved thornton, a solid rookie in pondexter who i think will surprise, and a very solid ariza who should perform a little better playing off paul. Very good improvement from where i thought they have been weakest.

    7. Its still too early to start fantasy guys.. Lets see at least one 1 preseason game and see who even makes the cut for teams..———–absolutely agree. I have had my fantasy draft on hold until oct 16th and a few people have been asking me to move it up and i just dont see any good reason to hold a draft prior to some pre season games.

    8. Dampier needs to sign with the Heat if they are going to compete with the Lakers. Joel Anthony cant be the starting C on a championship team.. Please dont ever compare him to Kendrick Perkins.. Joel doesnt intimidate anyone.. I like the guy but he cant get it done… I just hope they dont cut Da’Sean Butler for him..—————-LOL, this is something i agree with, but i got into it on a different site with a heat fan who was saying how terribel the lakers summer was. He argued, and i am not making this up, that joel anthony would remind the whole league of a in his prime ben wallace next year. I laughed my ass off and he then had the audacity to tell me that i know nothing of basketball.

I get ya Perez.. I don think that the Hornets have convinced Paul anything, I do root fo guys to make teams, I think that the 76ers got Brackins to trade Brand, Thornton, Iggy, or Speights, which would be big trades..

So are you inviting me to that fantasy league??

Do you set the roster daily or weekly??

daily. 15 man rosters with 11 playable each day. The head 2 head last 1 week and you just accumalate points through the season until all 20 teams have played each other then the top 8 make the playoffs.

See what he meant now by the past 20 years, of the draft. But, during that time, high draft picks and number one picks have killed it. I mean, you have Jordan winning 6, being a number 3 pick, than Hakeem winning 2 and he was first in the same draft. Than you have 4 titles won by Shaq and 4 won by Duncan, 2 with Robinson being a number one pick. If you count the Pistons last title, they had Mark Aguirre and Isaiah Thomas, who were #1 and 2 in their draft. But, since they are not in the last 20 titles, we won’t count them. But, while it is an interesting point of the past 20 years of drafts, it goes to show that high draft picks are indeed important. 10 out of 20 teams that won titles over the last twenty years had a number one pick, and 9 other teams had a number 3 pick make significant contributions (Michael Jordan, Chauncey Billups for the Pistons and Pau Gasol for the Lakers, all former 3rd picks, not to mention Darko was a rookie on Detroit’s finals win and Adam Morrison was on the Lakers last two, as a former 3rd pick as well). That means that Boston is the only team to win a championship without having at least a top 4 pick, with Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen being picked 5th. So, even with only two first picks drafted in the past 20 years winning titles, do not discount the importance of top 5 picks. The past 4 years has seen a 28th pick, 10th pick and former 13th pick win finals MVP, but before than it was all first and thirds (one 5th as well in Dwyane Wade). So, do not discount how important it is to have great players on your team, as not everyone plays exceedingly past their pick as Bryant, Pierce and Parker have. The upper echelon of the NBA’s best is full of top picks, and they will continue to be important in deciding who wins the NBA title. So, even if the #1 pick does not necessarily lead you to an NBA title or mean that player will be the best in his class, 100% of the the teams that have won have needed significant contributions by one or more top 5 picks. Jordan and Pippen after all were a 3 and a 5. If this statement holds true, than maybe the Thunder will indeed blow up, as they have a 2 (Durant), 3 (Harden), 4 (Westbrook) and a 5 (Jeff Green). Seems that draft position definitely says something, even if only 10% of number picks have won titles in 20 years.
