JoeWolf1Derrick Caracter has seemed to put aside the questions about his charachter once again. A big pay day as incentive doesn’t hurt. Heres the insider
According to The Orange County Register, Caracter has maintained a weight of around 275 pounds and therefore his rookie salary was fully guaranteed on Sept. 10.
Caracter wants to stay in shape and has been working out at the Lakers practice facility.

Derrick Caracter signed a two-year contract with the Lakers last month.
But the first year only becomes fully guaranteed if Caracter weights 275 pounds or less at a weigh-in on Friday, according to Sham Sports.
“Caracter’s weight clause is not unique; only last year, Sean May and Marcus Williams had them as well,” tweeted the website. “But his is the only one this year.”
With Josh Powell and D.J. Mbenga no longer members of the Lakers’ frontcourt, Caracter will likely get time to develop as a reserve on the bench this season.

NJHooper95ParticipantCaracter has potential to be a great rebounder and decent lost post scorer. If he can keep his head on straight he makes the lakers that much stronger. Remember this guy was considered a lottery pick and top player in his class at one point.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantIt isn’t like the Lakers were angling for anything else. He is the cheapest option out there for them. It is smart of teams to have these caveats out there because anyone can transform their body for a showcase event like the draft, but maintaining that discipline over the long haul is much more difficult.
