The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantWhen starting a Franchise in 2K…I use the same basic formula when picking a team…
I look for young teams/bad teams with good young players with big upside(potential)
Good Contract sitiuations Big Expires or Good Talent at a fair price( I don’t like players paid higher than 10 Million)
I like my core group of guys to be under 25…
I want a Young and talented PG( I prefer bigger Guards with great D and scoring ability)
I want a Versatile SG( One that can score and create for other team mates, has to D up too )
I want an All around SF( A good defender, slasher, passer and rebounder, doesnot have to be a big scorer as long as he can do a little bit of everything )
I want a Long PF with range and the ability to bang inside and rebound, can’t be ultra soft and must play some D or at least learn to play D…
I want a Young 7’0 Center that can Defend the paint, block shots and rebound…
I want every back up to compliment the guy in front of him…If My starting PG defends and passes than I want the back up to spread the floor and hit the 3…
I want my SG to lead the team in scoring 20 plus per game, I want my PG to average 15 and 10…another 15 and 10 from PF and 10/10 and 2 to 3 Blocks from the C…My SF has to be a 15/7/7 type of guy…
The bench as to be a balanced mix of scorers and defenders…
1 change of pace PG that can score yet pass in the right situations
1 scorer at the backup 2G spot…when the Starting SG has a bad night we have a guy that be an instant scorer or shot in the arm…
2 SF’s on the bench..1 that can score and the other to defend hybrid SF/PF types
2 Bigs on the bench with length…1 to defend and the other to spread the floor and scoreI know its a lot to ask for and you cant get it all with one team from the start but what are some the things you guys look for when starting a Franchise, how do you like your teams to be built and what systems to put in place to help them become successful…
A few teams I plan on starting out with this year even though they lack some of my key elements I listed is the Warriors…I’m all about trading Ellis for true 2 or All Around SF…
Curry is shorter than I like my PG’s but he’s a good passer and deadly 3 point threat…
Lee is a Double double machine and Beidrins can be a 10/10 and 3 guy…They have no bench and It’ll take a season or 2 before I really make them any good(records don’t count, I mean overall rating and skill)
With a good big on the bench in Udoh and hopefully a true scorer at the 2 or all around Sf in a Monte Ellis trade I’ll be one bad season and high draft pick from getting either the true 2 or All Around 3…Sixers and Thunder have alot of what I look for in a team to start…except Philly has Brands contract and the Thunder have no Bigs…

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantHe’s one of those instant Offense guys I was talking about to backup a True 2…I do have a Franchise with the Sixers every year too, but home teams are off limits in this topic…

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantThey have a Young Top flight PG prospect…
They have a true scorer at the 2(Arenas and Young)
They have a All Around Sf(Howard I think…for 1 year…They need Iguadola but I can’t see a deal worth making for Philly to be happy)
They ahve a young PF that can score 20 and get 10 boards(Blatche if he ever gets it together)
They have a young C that can fly up and down the court and block shots and rebound(Mcgee has to get stronger and become Camby 2.0)They have a great backup G in Hinrich and Young Bigs that can score in Yi and Seraphin…Young is that instant O 2Guard of the bench…they also have a backup Sf that can score in Al Thornton…They are a few pieces away from getting there IMo…I’m liking the Wizards after the Wall,Hinrich,Yi and Seraphin summer…Trading Howard and pieces for Iguadola and Arenas becoming a top scorer in the NBA again would be all the Wizards need to become a top 6 team in the East…
Howard and 2011 # 1 pick and pieces for Andre Iguadola….

joecheck88Participanti like taking terribl teams that lack management and productivity(usually the knicks the past few years). i trade as many bad contracts as i can(thanks computer) and try to draft well and get a few solid pieces during free agency. since i like going young to start, i may take a team like dallas or boston, blow them up and start fresh with only a few old faces(think rondo or roddy buckets). i dont care what i have as long as the stars get their numbers. like in nba live d howard would average like 9ppg and 10rpg for a whole season if he wasnt on my team.
but if i had to choose a few young teams they would be wash, okc, philly, and sacramento.

Mr. 19134ParticipantScarecrow you know dam well we are not going to get a number one pick for Iggy unless it was lottery protected then that trade actually makes sense, before the Wiz traded him i would of took a package involving Foye and Yi, I just wanna see Thad start at small forward because thats his natural position and he’s just waiting to have a coming out party.
My franchise is going to be with Kings for sure, Reke and Cuzo are too much I’m really gonna love that team they’re gonna be bullies playing together…The only thing they need in my eyes is a true one or a combo shooting guard who can play point, trading for Avery Bradley is def a possibility for me…and a small forward tho i like Casspi I was thinking more along the lines of having another bad year and drafting Perry Jones, Terrance Jones, Jon Vessely, or Barnes…my preferance is Perry.
My Lineup for the 2011-2012 season will look like this.Tyreke Evans
Avery Bradley
Perry Jones
Whiteside
Cousinswith Landry and Casspi coming off the bench, thats a tought, young, athletic, defensive team.

thaprodigyParticipantI’m going to be the Cleveland Cavs and try to help them recover from the Decision…
My first move will be to sign Allen Iverson, then I’ll try to trade Andersen Varejao and another piece to make the trade work for Michael Redd who has an expiring contract, then I’ll try to trade Mo Williams for a Center and I’ll probably put Jamison on the block and trade Gibson and a 2nd Round pick for a backup swingman.PG-Allen Iverson
SG-Michael Redd
SF- Antawn Jamison for now
PF-J.J. Hickson
C-
Bench: Ramon Sessions, Samardo Samuels, Gibson0 - Posted on: Tue, 09/14/2010 - 12:33pm #401133
