That statement is worst then Iggy’s play during the FIBA’s.

I don’t see Durant putting up the 2-3 3000 point seasons needed to do this especially if the Thunder began to improve.

I think if Durant can be healthy and he has that Reggie Miller frame that if he does not have to bang as much to score he could play 15 or so years in the league and he came in at 19 so if he can play at is pace to around he is 34 and not drop that much when he is older than he can do it. I see why not Kobe will be pretty good until he is pass 35 and possibly still a 20 point guy afterwards.

    lol..

Durant is a great player..But he seems to be the man of the Moment..
Just like McGrady was a few years ago..

I love Durant Attitude..If he stays healthy he could finish his career in the top 3 All-Time list…

He could be the only problem is he’d have to play at a very high level for a very long time. It’s highly unlikely that he’ll be but there is a slight chance.

He might crack the top 10 but the top spot seems far-fetched. It’s impossible to tell, he’ll probably have more durability than McGrady though, or at least I hope he will. To me, if he cracks the top 10 then he’ll be a certified legend in my book.

I’m glad you bought up McGrady, here’s numbers to think of:

Think of all McGrady’s seasons. Think of all his scoring- He’s still in the 60th all time in scoring. Durant is probably going to end up in the 30’s but then I believe he would have a couple bad seasons.

How could he be delusional if he proves to be right. A healthy Durant has a chance to be the top scorer of all time. If he gets hurt that is different also he game relies more on shooting than slashing

How many 2,800- 3,000 point seasons do you see Durant having?

I understand some of you have love for Durant but the Forum Villain says: Look at the facts.

Durant gonna have to have at least 4-5 2,800 to 3,000 seasons to make it there. That’s tougher then you think. He averaged 30 ppg this past season and was 400 points off.

If the Thunder get another solid player next to him and have Westbrook, Green, Harden improve and allow Durant to get some of the scoring off- He WON’T be a top 10-15 in scoring all time.

exactly im not saying he cant but after 3 yrs in the NBA you can say a guy will be the all time leading scorer its like saying John wall will be the best point guard in NBA history before he plays a NBA game

idk where your getting these 2800-3000 pt seasons in order for him to achieve the feat, kareem only topped 2800 pts once in his 20 year career, karl malones highest season was 2500, and jordan has only topped 2800 once and getting 3000 once, so he does not need to get that high in order to become the all time leader, hes only going to start scoring more and i see him continuing 2000+ seasons for the next dozen some years so its not out the realm of possibility that he could be close barring any serious injuries or unexpected retirements to go play minor league baseball

I should have gave the 2600 to 3000 window.

Anyway, I still don’t see him doing it because I expect the team to get better around him. Simple as that.

KD is not T-Mac thats for sure. Hes scoring version of Tim Duncan. Hell be the leader of that team for the next15 years. He is going to be as dependable as TD and is the most skilled scorer we may have ever seen. He should remain a scoring force much like Kobe has into his 30s but KD already has a big head start.
38,388 points would pass Kareem so 32,421 to go.
    Over 15 seasons thats 2161 a year
Hes averaged 1989 so far as 19-21 year old and had 2472 last year.
Hes also only missed 10 games in 3 years.
Its very possible but a loonngg way away

Ok. He would need to score roughly around4,500- 6,000 points after his 33rd/34th birthday while playing at least 16 playoff games starting this season and scoring 30 in all those games while only missing no more then the same amount of games he’s missed this year
