WizardofOzParticipantJonathan Bender. He just couldn’t stay healthy and never lived up to the hype. Should have went to college.

IndianaBasketballParticipantWhy should Bender have gone to college? He still would’ve had the injuries, which would’ve affected his NBA career one way or another. The knee problems he had came from doing stupid stuff like jumping off of roofs as a kid in Mississippi.
Had he gone to college, he’d probably be broke right about now. His NBA career didn’t go as it should’ve, but he was able to take some of that money he made with the Pacers and start a very good business. I think he invests in apartment communities or something.

RUDEBOY_Participant1.Eddy Curry
2.Marvin Williams.i personally never felt he would ever be an all star..but he does have the skills to be a good player.
3.Micheal Beasley..playing in that triangle offense might do him alot of good ext year
4.Emeka Okafor ..he didnt expand his game after his rookie year..
5.Anthony Randolph
6.T.J Ford..has the talent to be a top 10 point guard..but havent improved his outside shot.
7.Greg Oden…I still think he can be an all star..injuries have held him back.but instead of shooting jumpers during rehab…shouldnt he call up Olajuwon or McHale and ask for help on his post game?0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/26/2010 - 11:43am #363008

JNixonParticipantLMAO jumping off roofs. I understand he’s from Mississippi, but I live in the country too and I don’t even do stuff like that haha
But I’ll say Kwame Brown. That guy sucks, even if he wasn’t the 1st overall pick.
0- Posted on: Mon, 07/26/2010 - 11:48am #363018

WizardofOzParticipantI heard somewhere that one of the reasons why Kwame didn’t pan out is because Michael Jordan always put him down and use to always get frustrated with him. I heard that MJ even called Kwame a “flaming fagget”.

SlimParticipantGreg Oden + in between game= domination
last year his Player Efficiency Rating was 23.14.
now if he can only play more than 20 minutes a game and keep that efficiency up…0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/26/2010 - 11:47am #363015

Bryant24ParticipantTyrus thomas-he is to athletic to jsut be a role player i thought him rose were going to be a nice duo but he never progress and is nothing more than an energy guy for your team
Stromile Swift-very similar to tyrus but he came from same college and never did anyhting he had some nice dunks in his hay day not even in the nba no more.
Dejuan Wagner-some say he was going to be the 2nd coming of iverson he showed signs his rookie year maybe leborn will still be in clevleand if he lived up to his potential but injuryies got to him
Darius Miles-he had some good skills never put them together and has a ego i dont know why and attitude has kept him out of the league
Tracy Mcgrady-he was once my favorite player one of the best scorers i have seen yet he was an elite passer and a great defender when he played for the raptors injuries took a way a possible an all time great durant reminds me of hope he dont end up like him.
Vince Carter-once called the next mj he dunked liked him has been a multipe all star but with his talent he should have leage and finals mvp’s
Penny Hardaway-my older brother use to love i was i still a toddler during his day i seen footage he was a big pg with out of this world crossovers and athletic ability but he injuries got to him too and during the ecf’s he was giving mj the business too

IndianaBasketballParticipantOden is ballin’ during rehab! I don’t mean hoopin’ either lol.
I saw him at Champps not too long ago and dude had four chicks… His arms around ALLLLL of them. I said to myself, “Well, at least he’s putting his wingspan to good use” lol.

Rasheed Wallace (solid career but should have changed the PF position)0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/26/2010 - 11:55am #363026

BasterdInABasketParticipantDont blame MJ and Collins for Brown being a bust. Id be mad at mad too if I took maybe the biggest #1 bust in history.
Kwame brown just is not a very good basketball player. Hes slow, cant catch and has no post game.
Blame MJ for taking him #1 but not for him not being good.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantLMAO!!! I was born and grew up in Mississippi..i saw alot of strange stuff and its true..some kids in the rural ares use to pretend like they were jumping into pools…..or being chased by crooks or the Klan..lol..
they sometimes use to get 2 by 4’s and pretend they were cars…some kids used clothes racks as a steering wheel…

ghettosermonParticipantMarcus Fizer was supposed to be a an absolute monster in the league and went 4th overall, I think we know how poor to mediocre he turned out. Oh but one of the biggest LOL’s I can think of is Tskitishvili. Man Dark’s impact on the league really influenced the movement of a bunch of Euro busts.

DanEboyParticipantTim Thomas could have been one of the best who ever played. Most see him as the best high school basketball player ever….Just didn’t want it enough I guess
Some Chicago guys that flamed out…
Darius Miles had Garnett type abilities… wasted talent right there.
Imari Sawyer was the best freshman and sophomore in the nation when he was in high school…unbelievable PG skills….not sure what happened there.
Ronnie Fields…..car accident derailed his career but KG still says he would have better than him….50″ vert.
Leon Smith…..7footer who just went crazy….war paint and all…not even the Spurs could help him.
The list goes on and on…
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/26/2010 - 12:13pm #363043
CelticJayhawkParticipantDerrick Coleman could have been a lot better then he was. There’s a reason everyone said Beasley, at worst case scenario, was a DC type of guy.
In the late 80’s there was a guy named chris jackson who changed his name to something muslim. Played for LSU.
Ndubi Ebi had all the potential in the world too.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/26/2010 - 12:14pm #363045

Malik-UniversalParticipanti remember ebi, he played for dallas one year in the preseason, drafted by minny in 03

CelticJayhawkParticipantIf were talkin HS flameouts, Schea Cotten has to be up there…same with Demetrius Walker, who’s playing D1 ball now, but was on the cover of SI when he was in 8th grade

CelticJayhawkParticipantDanEboy- Was Ronnie Fields the guy who went to d rose’s HS?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/26/2010 - 12:18pm #363053

DanEboyParticipantCelticJayhawk….no, Fields went to Farragut with Garnett….Rose went to Simeon.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/26/2010 - 12:20pm #363055
CelticJayhawkParticipantAh, the guy I’m thinking about was Ben Wilson who was murdered in 84 and went to Simeon.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/26/2010 - 12:20pm #363056

llperezI thought jerome moiso was gonna be a star in the NBA. He had all the tools. 6-11, could run and jump and had legit skills. Was knocking down 20 footers and taking guys down on the low box and doing things. He went lottery. But he was a mental midget. Every time he tried to make a move in the nba and the defender bodied him up or cut him off, he just passed it out and was content sitting around watching his teammates make plays. Boston, Philly, cleavland all gave him a look and it just never happened for him in the nba.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI don’t feel comfortable putting Martell Webster on the list yet.
It’s not his fault Portland was loaded on the wing and he broke the same foot twice.

the barronParticipantCan we put the whole 2000 draft class. Gotta give mention to Marvin Williams. I mean he was the definition of drafting potential over proven players. The man was the 6th man of his UNC ball club but was still drafted ahead of Deron Williams and Chris Paul who were proven leaders in college for several years already.

IndianaBasketballParticipant@1SACgoon916
I disagree. He’s also shown that he has the potential to be an elite perimeter defender. Batum is longer, but Webster was the best defender on Portland this past season and was given the assignment to defend Kobe, LeBron, Melo, Wade, etc when the game was on the line.
Like I said… It’s all about the opportunity and if he can stay healthy.
