    Weaver is probably the one.

He could contribute to a contender too. He defends and can play the 3 perimeter spots, is a better shooter than he’s credited for, and provides toughness. Perfect end of the bench role player for a title contender.

The Thunder are tying to trade rather than just let a player go but the market for White and Weaver isn’t big and I don’t think they want to move Mullens as of yet.

I agree with Iggy. Weaver has to go. White is a great mid-range shooter with toughness and whenever he plays he does well. Mullens has too much potential and size to pass up.

Oklahoma City has no need to make a move right now. They don’t have to cut down to 15 until the fall.

One of the interesting things about the summer league is which guys are just out there looking to shoot. Mullens has been that guy for two years, and somebody has to explain to him that he is going to be playing with Kevin Durant. Unless he wants to go the way of Slava thinking it was his turn to shoot when he was playing alongside Kobe, Shaq, Malone, and GP, he might want to focus on the other aspects of the game. Now that they have Aldrich, they ought to just shop him and see if they can get a second round pick. Maybe Cleveland would bite.

White can play. He’s a hooper. Strong mid-range game, rebounds very well, can bang and is very physical. He’s at least a rotation player. He lacks athleticism and isn’t a very good defender though, but I’d take him. He’s decent.

But were still acknowledging they need to move someone. I hope it’s D.J. White, he should go to a team that would let him play. Maybe Atlanta?

OKC is in a logjam with all their big men. Green, Aldrich, Krstic, Collison, White, Mullens, Ibaka…White could be a good rotation player like Iggy said. Mullens will take a while to develop til he can even be a reliable backup IMO

I know Kyle Weaver isn’t with the Bulls, but I could have sworn all Summer League long, NBAtv was reporting that Weaver signed with the Bulls. I can remember seeing it scroll across on the bottom line for two weeks straight. This was around the same time they signed JJ Redick to an offer sheet.

    Did anyone else see this?

“hey ought to just shop him and see if they can get a second round pick”

Why would they trade Mullens for a second round pick? At that point in the draft you draft for potential, and what more could you want then a 7’1 athletic center who wants to get better? Kristic and Collison are not in the future plans of the Thunder, so why not take the time to mold BJ into a decent rotation player. The kid has time, and with this core he can become a servicable player. If anything White and Weaver will be the ones to be moved. Ibaka and Green have the 4 position covered, and Sofo and Harden have the 2. Those players have no place on the team, and i’d rather see the Thunder trade those two for picks then Mullens. Plus they already have their Defensive center in Cole, so who cares if Mullens wants to shoot.

Mullens doesn’t have much potential. He is a big body with bad hands and the idea that he should be taking shots whenever he gets the ball. Unless they have some grand plan to let him get shots in OKC, what is he going to offer them? He has a low basketball IQ, doesn’t block shots, and is a mediocre rebounder. I would be surprised if they picked up their third year option for him, so moving him isn’t the worst option.

True, but why not take the risk? Honestly it amazes me how much people on this site covet second round picks. Sometimes you get a decent player, but mostly just back of the rotation guys at best. Give Mullens some more time, and I’m sure he can be that or better. We’ve seen players put it together before, and if he does it will be worth more then some second round pick who will proably never play a minute in the NBA
