Mr.Knick 32ParticipantAs someone who follows basketball like a religion, I love to see people’s opinions on players. But this is really the first time I ever seen something like this to this magnitude. If you didn’t feel this way, it’s cool but this is my taking from everything from the past 6 weeks.
LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh went from the respected players we love to watch play to guys we love to hate. Why? Because for a while: We as fans didn’t understand what they were thinking. The LeBron we saw at press conference and at the decision was not the LeBron we seen for 7 season throwing the power up or praising Akron. We didn’t understand nor got the feel that we knew who these players were. Chris Bosh went from ” I want to be a centerpiece” to ” I need my big brother” mode and joined Dwyane Wade ( who also went from this honest guy to looking very sneaky among all of this).
On the flip side, two players who went from admired to loved in all this? Kevin Durant and Derrick Rose. Why? Because they decided to shun the huge spotlight. In some aspects, they haven’t embraced what we believe they are: Superstardom. Durant’s signing on Twitter was seen as throwback. He didn’t stall talks and ( unlike LeBron) he has no option ( player or team) to leave Oklahoma City. Derrick Rose comments ” I’m never leaving Chicago” was seen as a slap in LeBron’s face AND the classic superstar’s way.
What do you think?

courtvisionmagParticipantLeBron, Bosh, and Wade want to win. They are the three best players who are all good friends with an oppertunity to play together. Sounds like everybodys dream to me. Everyone feels Lebron took the coward way out but i strongly disagree. He did what every superstar does when their careers are fading and they dont have a ring, they join other contending teams. Only difference is he is in his prime. Look at Earl Monroe, Bill Walton, “Pistol” Pete, Clyde Drexler evan Karl Malone and Gary Payton tried it with the Lakers. Everyone in America seems to forget basketball is a TEAM sport where the best team wins it all not the best player. Bosh just came to reality and realize hes not a championship centerpiece. He’s a great player and could be a good franchise player for a ot of team he would just never win a rig as the main man. and Wade just wanted to get help and he got it in a big way.
D-Rose is from Chitown and is the face of the franchise. Why would he ever want to leave? LeBron is from Akron not Cleveland if you ever asked someone from Akron if they are from Cleveland they would correct you in a heartbeat. And KD is just a humble respectful young man who is refreshing to see. Plus he know he and his teammates have a cance to build something special as a in house grown contender. I don’t know why everyone gets so mad.0 - Posted on: Sun, 07/25/2010 - 9:19am #362504

sheltwon3ParticipantYou may have been blinded by who you thought they were but I have always seen things leading up to where Lebron is now. It was just the media cover ups stuff when they support you and bring up stuff and even speculate on things they may not be true when they don’t like you.
Nothing that happens with these player surprised me cept I would have never guess they could actually all go to Miami until Wade and Bosh signed because I thought it would be impossible.

courtvisionmagParticipantIf you did look closely at the actions and quotes from LeBron he did gradtually seem like he felt more entitled and not what he was market as in the media. He has changed over the years like EVERYONE in life does in his moving on to the Heat he did nothing wrong in my opnion but he has seem to change personally as time passed. A little more cocky and irogant, just a little. but begin praised as the king since 16 how could you blame him.

OhCanada-ParticipantGreat post and I agree 100 %. Gessh Knicksboy whats up with you. you seem capable of making the best post of the day and the worse post of the day.
As fans we always like to keep up with what the players are going to do. Who is going where, what GMs are doing, and what players are communicating with which teams. We wanan know where our idols are going to play. All we seem to expect is honesty. Players should be truthful and committed to their fans, since we give them their salary. You get paid 100’s of Millions just to stick it to all of us? We deserve to be upset

huff09ParticipantI dont care that they decided to play together, thats all good and fine. But an hour special called “the decision”? Come on LeBron. Its one thing Kobe saying “Im going to take my talents to the NBA” as a clueless young prodigy. But LeBron saying “Im going to take my talents to South Beach” as a grown ass man and the face of the NBA? Give me a break.

Scottoant93ParticipantI knew Lebron was going to leave Cleveland but didn’t think he would take that route of joining other superstars or making a show to say his decision. Bosh to me was never the player everyone thought he was(a superstar), imo he was selfish in some games( take a shot when being double teamed while two decent shooters were open, happened more then 1 occasion) Wade proved himself before was this mess because unlike the rest he has a ring even he had shaq, so i respect him for that. Rose and Durant are upcoming superstars and don’t crave media attention that james, and bosh wanted so thats why everyone “loves” them.

ChewyParticipantshe went to Cleveland for a family reunion and said that all the signed that used to say “home of lebron” have been taken down. I mean come on, he still was born in ohio. That doesnt change because he signed with miami. Any who has visted or lives in cleveland on here? What is the biggest anti lebron thing you have seen there?

dipt1982ParticipantI had a feeling all along LeBron was gone, but to Miami? A bit of a shocker how all that transpired.
And yes, you can all fall in love with D. Rose for stating that he won’t leave, UNTIL HE DOES…
