They asked this question on The Bleacher Report….I say NO!! Becuz injuries held him back from being Great..

But they gave 3 reasons why he should be voted in,,,

    1. 7 time AllStar
    2.Co-Rookie of the year
3.Gold Medal in the 1996 Olympics

i say no. He would have been no question if not for the injuries. He was a top 3 player in the league his last season in detroit before the injury and certainly capable of winning an mvp or two. But his career ultimately doenst stack up.

I’d say no because Grant had 6 elite years then a bunch of mediocre years including all the injuries. Its’ a shame though because IMO he’s one of the top 10 most complete and versatile basketball players in the last 25 years. Add to that he’s not a champion, I just can’t see it being warranted. Skills wise he is a hall of fame player in my eyes, but I can’t say he did enough on the floor.

Just for the record 2 of those allstar appearances weren’t really warranted and where because of fan voting. He made the allstar team the year he played 4 games. I think if you let Grant Hill in the HOF you have to let someone like Tracy Mcgrady in as well.

Was on pace for a great Career but injury, ruined his chances for the hall, glad he got to continue to contibute to the NBA, world class guy. Him penny, Reggie Lewis, all hall of famers if not injury or death, obviously alot more you could say that 4, thoseare my favorites tho

I say yes. NCAA Champion, Gold Medalist, 7 time allstar, and the numbers he put up when healthy were LeBron like. And when he was held back by injuires he was able to adjust his game to where he was still solid and he was an absolute class act. i think he deserves it. as for TMac…hes boarderline but id throw him in there to. One of the best scorers in our generation. get them both a chip and theyre for sure in

    Grant Hill…i think so…

    17.8 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 4.5 apg, 49% FG, 1.3 spg, gold medalst, 7x all-star, co-rookie of the year

i think his accomplishments speak for themselves as well as his amazing road to recovery where hes now a solid starter at 37 years old

This is a tough one but I have say it will depend on how long he plays right now and what the Suns or whatever team he is on does.

Proud of him when he puts 14 pts in a 3rd QT at LA in WCF.
sportsmanship awards multiples times too in his pedigree.
What about Horry ?, because he won 7 titles he’s a hall of famer ?.

If he wasn’t injured so much during his career, he’d be considered a GOAT in terms of Small Forwards.. Not the best small forward but surely a top 5 if he’d stay healthy.

thats def not like saying chris paul is a HOFer. Paul never won an NCAA championchip like his and is not putting up numbers that hill did .

I think he is a lock. Its called the Basketball Hall of Fame, not just NBA Hall of fame.

Like many of the other guys mentioned, he has many accolades outside of the NBA that justify a Hall of Fame invite. His injuries were unfortunate, but they are a part of the game. Fortunately for him, he achieved a lot before the injuries kicked in.

He will be a Hall of Famer, he didn’t have the standout numbers like some players before him. But he was heavily touted, had a strong college career, and aside from injuries was a very special talent on the court. The only hindering him is the missing Championship, had he gotten one of those, he would be a LOCK. IMO he still gets in, just knowing how the HOF voters are, he will get the benefit, even though he was injured for a lot of the last decade…

Their was a time where Grant Hill was right at the top of the league and seen as a can’t miss Hall-of-Famer. Part of it was that Grant won titles with Duke, and was seen as a great image person. Grant was also the first rookie to be not only voted to start in the All-Star Game, but was the LEAD vote getter. To put it in perspective, not even LeBron started the All-Star game, much less was the lead vote getter. SLAM even had a cover with Grant on it saying “Just Like Mike, Only Better” (though they also had a cover saying that the Nets with Sam Cassell, Jayson Williams and Keith Van Horn were going to win a title, so, not exactly Nostradamus). But Grant was one of the best players in the league for quite a while, but never really lead a fairly poor Pistons team to incredible success, and after his best year he booked it to Orlando when the injuries really hit. I think his numbers are incredibly solid, and he was really a constant triple double threat as well, someone who could put up numbers all over the board. But, unlike his other Rookie of the Year counterpart, Jason Kidd, he failed to really maintain his dominance due to injury. It derailed him from really reaching his potential and giving us memorable seasons and most importantly Play-Off moments. J-Kidd led two teams to the Finals and had a bunch of other solid seasons and has mostly been free of huge injuries that have caused him to miss blocks of seasons. Grant Hill is very much a fringe Hall-of-Famer, mainly because of how great he was his first few seasons and his college and international play. But, Anfernee Hardaway was a very similar case, and I think he created more post-season memories than Hill. He did not have the longevity after injury that Hill has had that has made a great role-player late in his career, but with all of that being said I do not see Penny as a Hall-of-Famer. Grant Hill to me is a fringe guy, but someone who definitely will have to wait his turn. Their a number of players around Grant’s numbers and impact who have yet to be selected, so I will say he will be on the outside looking in for quite a while until their is maybe a down year. He certainly is not a first ballot guy, but may be voted in based on the fact that he was always seen as a high character person and for his persistence after terrible injuries that robbed him of the prime of his career.
