The New York Knicks (I want your opinion)

Not a knicks fan but you guys did alright in Free Agency getting a Allstar(Amare), a decent point guard(felton), and a potential star in Randolph, adding Gallo, Chandler, and douglas you guys can be a decent team perhaps a 7 or 8 seed in playoffs. As for Melo I think he stays in Denver but you never know the Parker-Melo-Amare combo is the next rumored Big 3. I will probably get a minus for this Im a Nets fans so they made a bigger impact then us. Lets hope we win more than 12 games this year.

Ye they are far from contenders, but should be a fun and exciting team to watch next season. Playoffs are definitely a possibility as well. Knicks fans are so optimistic because this is the first year in about a decade we go into a season without some overpaid ego filled losers. We no longer have players like Jerome James, Jared Jeffries, Quentin Richardson etc etc etc, it is now all about young guys with lots of potential surrounding the best player the Knicks have had in a decade. Once Curry comes off the books their largest contract in 2011 after Amare will be the Felton 1 yr 7.5 million dollar. Knicks have made a lot of progress and it does seem like they are finally starting to crawl out of the cellar (hopefully). It is about time too, people can hate on the Knicks all they want but the city of New York deserves a team that they can be proud of.

look for felton to break out this year tho, he played on the slowest pace team in the nba and the guy likes to push the ball. Mike D made Duhon look decent for a bit before he got exposed, I’m excited what he can do with a real PG.

getting Charlotte. I think the fast pace system will suit him well, in
my opinion, he needs to in order for Amare to continue to be Amare
it’s no secret Nash made life for Amare good, hopefully Felton will
do the same, I don’t see Amare as a go to guy, but is a perfect 2nd
option, knicks were smart they left cap room for the future for possible
Carmelo, I think this roster will compete for 7th or 8th seed, but I think
there young guys have room to grow, so if they do get a Carmelo, they
will have there glue guys in place, hope it was a rumor about a possible
zeke return, I think that what he did to the knicks is the worst gm job ever
imagine what he would have done to them if the NBA didn’t have a salary
cap, I did think he was a good coach in Indiana though.

Knicks have improves,didnt get you know who, but got an all-star & SC top 10 regular in Amare,a real PG in Felton & a very promising prospect in randolph, but I think the feltonrandoplh pick ups could be huge trading chip later this year is someone like cp3 or melo gets but on the block. But with the knicks right now you are looking at a possible 78 seed which lets be honest is a huge improvement compared to the knicks that we’ve seen in past year who could never make the playoffs, So its not a championship but they will bring atleast a little excitement back to the garden

The offseason was dissapointing becaz Lebron didn’t sign here but I think Wade, Bron and Bosh were going to sign with Miami if the Heat could make it work money wise. Obviously they did by trading Beasley, cutting Jones and moving draft picks. Individually losing out on Bosh wasn’t a big deal since Amare signed, Wade was never really coming here his options seemed to be Miami and Chicago. Was it Eddy Curry’s contract that prevented the Knicks from getting the big 3 who knows. If Curry’s contract wasn’t on the cap they would’ve had about 44 million plus and could’ve easliy moved Chandler for a future draft pick to give them 46 million in cap space. Anyhow right now I think the Knicks are a playoff team and outside of a legit SG who can shoot well they are pretty balanced team. They have a PG who is a big upgrade over Duhon, Sergio and anyone since Marbury was effective probly 4-5 yrs ago. They have some size and shot blockers for the first time in a decade it seems. Randolph, Amare, Turiaf, Mozgof, Jordan and even Eddy Curry who’s playing in a contract year might show up considering his financial problems. Amare, Chandler are good athletes and Douglas, Gallo are very good shooters just scratching the surface in the league. Can’t really say its all about next year, as Carmello could sign an extension with Denver at any time but the Knicks would still have cap room to trade or sign a SG whether its Iguodala, Crawford, Michael Redd. Time for the young guys Douglas, Chandler, Gallo, Randolph, Felton to step it up. Also remember even if they signed Lebron they wouldn’t be considered title contenders this year. Who would be their PG, back up PF/C?

I like the moves that Knicks made. They didn’t overspend for anyone and got some nice peices that they can build around. I love Felton for this team, Randolph is a good piece for the system. Gallinari will be a good outside shooter to put alongside Amare and I think Keleena Azuzibuke (if healthy) could be a breakout player. They still have a few more holes to fill and I think it may a positive thing to trade Wilson Chandler for either more players or picks but we’ll see. I think they can compete for a playoff spot in the east.

Everybody knows I love the moves they made. They got younger, more athletic, bigger in the front court, they have a legit point guard, they have a all star, and they have cap flexibility, and could possibly get another top player. It took a while but Knicks are at least respectable this year and honestly in the best case scenario they could get to the Eastern Conference finals because they have young guys with potential that we don’t even know how good they can be. That unknown gives you excitement. Mike D’Antoni, style is known to help player out and make them look good which gives confidence to players which is key for development. He also has a deep team and can play more guys than he used to play in Phoenix.

That was one of his weaknesses and hopefully he does not repeat that.
