Yahoo Sports reports that Houston is looking for a sign and trade for a big name PF. Scola, Battier, and Ariza is a lot to give up for Amare, though, or even for Bosh, isn’t it? Who would you rather have?

If I were Houston Amare, not worth it but if its Chris Bosh, I’d switch Ariza with Lowry and see if they’ll accept.

I would be disappointed if the Rockets would need to give up that much even to get Chris Bosh. Bosh is good, but not that good to give up 3 core players for.

Scola can put up 18-8 himself if he’s a full time starter. I think of him almost at Boozer level. I just don’t see how Bosh is much much better than Scola while he would probably cost 2 times to 3 times more than Scola.

Anyway, the guy at Yahoo who reported this had been putting out bogus rumors. I don’t really see this would happen.

If I were the Rockets GM I’d put Aaron Brooks in the deal and not Trevor Ariza. I think Kevin Martin and Trevor Ariza make a nice combo at the 2 and 3.

I really hope this isnt true. Oddly enough Ièd rather see the Raps take Patterson, Hill and Houstons picks.

Why would the Raptors want Patterson and Hill? We just drafted Ed Davis and we signed Johnson to a 5 year deal. We don’t need 2 other PFs. If anything we do need SFs like Ariza/Battier.

Well maybe Jordan Hill more than Patterson thats a very good point. Those NY picks could be very high…Jordan Hill is a player I’m extremely high on.Scola I hope doesnt come over because he will eat up Johnson, Davis and Alabis minutes and is not a big enough body to play the 5.Hill can play the 5.

So it doesn’t look like Amare is going to re-sign witht he Suns, does that mean he won’t still do a Sign&Trade with them.
I wouldn’t trade that many for Bosh..That’s a bit ridiculous

    PG – Brooks, Lowry
    SG – Martin, Taylor
    SF – Budinger, ???
    PF – Bosh, Hayes, Patterson
    C – Yao, Andersen, Hill

That’s a Good Team, but no real depth anymoreat the two or three..
I think Battier/Ariza, & Scola should be enough with picks, but not 3 players.
We need to keep Battier or Ariza, but can’t give up both.

I agree but we dont want Scola so wed probally incorparate him in a S&T somewhere. How much did his qualifying contract cost?Id say he is an 8Mil type guy.He is a great player but desperately adds to Toronto’s shot blocking woes.He averaged .3 blocked shots last year…

    Ariza
    Scola
and 2 1st round picks is a done deal in my eyes

Houston has to overpay to get the team to agree. It isn’t like with Miami or Chicago where they can just sign him outright. The Rockets not only have to sell Bosh/Amare but also Toronto or Phoenix. If I was Houston, I would have no problem moving all those players for either. Stars win and role players can be found. The one thing we know about Daryl Morey is his ability to find role players. I’m not sure about his handling of the cap or his understanding of how to get his team into legitimate contention, but he can found guys who will play hard and effectively for little money. If he can get an elite front court partner for Yao to go with Brooks and Martin, what is not to like?
