RUDEBOY_ParticipantI’ve been impressed with Farmer’s playmaking skills since he was at UCLA ..i thought the Pacers would select him when he came out but instead they went for Shawn Williams…He seemed to be lost playing with his hometown Lakers..But now that he have 2 rings..I expect him to move on..And try to show the world he’s more then a backup..It’ll be interesting to see how he can perform on a consistent basis as a starter..The Pacers,Heat, Portland,Memphis & Knicks are all said to be interested in his services…

JNixonParticipantHe’s not going to be a truly good starter. These teams are going to overpay for him, and I think he lands in New York. If he can have some success as a starter, Coach D’Antoni’s system would be the best bet though.
It’s like his playmaking skills disappeared from his UCLA days, he used to drop dimes in college. It also seems like he got faster/quicker in the NBA. Farmar has been weird in his college to pros translation.

sheltwon3ParticipantI have rarely seen Farmar showcase any NBA ready playmaking skills ever. He has even thrown a few terrible lobs. I hope Knicks do not overpay for him. They should just trade for Collison. Can you imagine how good the Knicks young players could be with a really good point guard playing with them. Gallo could get a ton of open 3 and show that he can be closer to Dirk than previously stated.
Also analysts who say Dirk would perfected compliment Lebron and forget that Knicks have Gallo who can shoot from the perimeter as good a Dirk and not looking at the Knicks roster carefully. Knicks has a lot of young talent in Walker, Chandler, Douglas, Gallinari. Boston needed their young talent do develop along with the big 3 to have their run.
Gallo has not even turned 21 yet. Douglas showed production when he got minutes. Walker played well some games and he was out of shape last year.
Chandler showed huge versatility.
Eddy Curry contract can be moved and Lee can be signed and traded.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipant“Jordan Farmer might finally get a chance to become a starter”… and then show why he has never been able to earn the job before.

Leftovers16ParticipantIMO I think it was that he was with the lakers that kept his career afloat I know he can go off a couple games a year but that isn’t good enuff for my liking… not consistent… if he was on any other playing the same way he wouldve been dumped long ago… With a new squad we may never know… The two rings don’t really mean anything if u wanna stamp it by his name that’s like saying Gasol only has two rings so that makes him just as good as farmar which is untrue

RUDEBOY_Participantlol..No i’m not saying Farmer is a future Hall of Famer..He hardly played and he contributed about as much to winning those rings as much as you & i did..
I’m saying every player wants a championship..He has that now….He fullfilled his dream by playing basketball at UCLA then with the Lakers in his hometown..Maybe its time he went elsewhere if he wants to show what he can do…He seemed to lose the playmaking skills he showed in college..The Triangle system isnt for everyone..0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/01/2010 - 8:33am #344857

IndianaBasketballParticipantI hope Bird doesn’t do anything stupid… Farmar isn’t the answer.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantYou guys are going to be surprised about Farmer’s hidden talent..He wont challenge Rose,CP3,Nash or Deron Williams as the the league’s best point guard..But he’s not going to be a slouch either..Just watch

scoutguruParticipantI agree with most of the posts here, that Jordan isn’t as good as some of other PG’s in this league and he probably isn’t a starting caliber point guard in this league. He shoulda ceased that PG job away from Fisher long time ago. But let’s not forget that triangle system isn’t really reliant on the point guard to use his individual skills to make plays for others. They just need guys who are gonna spot up and hit open jumpers, and know their spacing in the triangle. In college, he was a top point guard and made a lot of plays. Maybe if he gets an opportunity, he’ll prolly look better, cause a lot of the times he looked horrible and played selfish on that laker team.

llperezfarmar is better then he showed with the lakers. He never truly had a leash and when the second unit struggled, he seemed to take the heat the most for it. The triangle does not allow for a pg to dribble a lot and peenetrate and use pick and rolls. No pg has ever looked like a good creator under phil jackson. GIve farmar a chance. At worst he is a quality backup with championship experience.
