    Okay everybody is doing it so I thought I’d give it a try no one can know for sure and it’s all subjective at this point but I’m bored and I consider myself slightly knowledgeable about the NBA so here goes;

My order will be by how good and important to a team each player is; again completely subjective

LeBron James- Chicago; You’d like to think that he’d be loyal and stay with Cleveland but they simply didn’t make enough smart basketball moves to keep him in his backyard, so LeBron bolts to pursue greener pastures

Dwayne Wade- Miami; Who wouldn’t want to stay in south beach. Wade has already won a championship with the Heat and can do it again if they can lure another big name player or a supporting cast good enough to rival Kobe’s Lakers, Dwayne feels he has the pull to help the Heat assemble such a team, he’ll stick around.

Chris Bosh- Chicago; This one was hard. I was split between the Bulls and the Heat, but went with the Bulls because of the LeBron factor, A nucleus of Bosh, LeBron, and D.Rose could be trouble for the rest of the league and Chris knows this.

Amare Stoudemire- Miami; A lot of people want to say he’ll go to New York because of the D’Antoni connection. However, Stoudemire has played his entire career in sunny Phoenix something tells me this guy has a bit of Lamar Odom in him, where he enjoys to spend his time in sunny weather cities. Miami offers more to Stoudemire than the Suns at this point and score their second max contract.

Dirk Nowitski- Dallas; Don’t see him leaving, This would truly be a disservice to the game ala Tim Duncan leaving the Spurs, he believes that his free-spending owner will work out some sort of trade to jockey their team in to position to compete in the West. Would be great to see someone stick with their team.

Carlos Boozer- New Jersey; Just feel like he’s a tad bit better than Joe Johnson, I could see where people think Johnson is better I just don’t think he makes his team better whereas Boozer can provide rebounding and aggressiveness in the post to hype up his unit. The Nets will crash hard on Boozer after being shrugged off by other big name free agents.

Joe Johnson- New York; This D’Antoni connection makes a little more sense to me, coach loves the run and gun and Johnson loves to fill it up unfortunately for New York he’s Joe Johnson and not LeBron James. He’s still an upgrade over Tracy McGrady, Danilo Galinari, Wilson Chandler, and Bill Walker.

David Lee- New York; This guy fills up the stat sheet but like Johnson, Lee doesn’t do much to make his teammates better. New York is crestfallen with LeBron, D-Wade, and Bosh which may drive Lee away but ultimately he’ll stick around with the team that’s let him flourish.

Paul Pierce- LA Clippers; I know it’s a bit of a stretch in both cases, but I just feel as if Pierce won’t be coming back to Boston. The Clippers have the money to overpay for an aging, ailing Pierce in the same fashion the Pistons overpaid for Ben Gordan, and Charlie Villanueva last year. Pierce will jump at the opportunity to go back to LA and prove himself to be worth the monstrous contract.

Ray Allen- Miami; Again it’s a bit of a stretch but I don’t see Boston bringing back Ray Ray after Paul says “thanks but no thanks.” Ray can make more money going to Jersey or Manhattan but, he can shine in a shooter role playing off Dwayne Wade and make a more legitimate run at another title.

So that’s it, that’s my attempt to figure out this frenzy that we call NBA free agency 2010. Who do you guys think will sign these guys? Who do you guys think will be the biggest winners and losers of free agency?

@nateoak; Danny Ainge is known to blow up his teams and I said completely subjective, Clippers have a ton of money and I even said it was a stretch, but it seems like Pierce has a chip on his shoulder and thinks he can win any where what better place to prove it then with the Clippers who by the way have incredible talent and potential on their team.

I didn’t realize people hated well written and well thought out posts. Guess I should have guessed as much though.

Why would pierce and Allen leave after going to a game 7 of the finals.Where is there any better opportunity for another title? And now with sheed retiring there will be more cap space to sign.

it enjoyed it till i saw pierce to the clippers..are you insane? pierce doesnt leave boston too loyal he’s all about loyalty and winning…and idk theres this guy rajon rondo whos pretty good and some dude kevin garnett who’s stuck in boston cause of his fat contract so yeah the whole pierce leaving is just completely asinine.

Clippers fan…your the reason i despise clippers fans. You think your relevant. you firmly believe that after 30 years of being a pathetic excuse for a basketball club that free agents would actually sign with the clippers. Be a realist..please?

    @CelticJayhawk

    First… It’s “you’re” not “your”.

Second… It hasn’t worked out, BUT the Clippers did land Baron Davis via free-agency a few years ago.

Third… Kobe considered signing with the Clippers the last time he became a free-agent. LeBron has also decided to invite them to Akron to make their pitch. Reports are that Joe Johnson and Rudy Gay will listen to the Clippers also.

Who knows whether or not the Clippers will land anyone. Their history IS bad. However, they have a talented roster with young pieces, enough money to land a max player and are getting ready to hire a new head coach.

Fourth… Clippers is a loyal fan. What’s wrong with him being optimistic?

Bill Simmons is actually the first person I heard talk about Pierce going to LA. LA is Pierce’s hometown. Simmons suggested that if the Clippers offered him enough money and years, MAYBE that could be enough to convince him to come finish his career out in his hometown.

It would never happen. and excuse me for being grammatically incorrect, i forgot everything i type on this website is being graded as an essay in my modern world literature class.

Yeah, they landed Baron Davis cause of money. Baron Davis a supremely talented basketball player who might just be more selfish then any point guard in the league. He doesn’t give a damn about winning. All Pierce wants to do is win. If you care about winning, don’t go to the Clippers. If your a free agent and you sign with a team without even knowing who the coach is, you deserve to lose. it doesn’t matter who is on the Clippers roster, they will lose. 30 years of losing excellence proves this.

Kobe was never close to going to the Clippers, it was pure leverage to get what he wanted from the Lakers.

Nothing wrong with Clippers being optimistic, but at some point one must come to the realization that nothing positive comes from being a Clipper fan. Besides those cool blue jerseys with the cursive writing on the front. And Blake Griffin having healthy k..whoops, coming off micro fracture surgery.

I forgot, everything that Bill Simmons writes is automatically correct and should be put in stone as the way things will/should happen..i forgot, many apologies. I do love Simmons though, book of basketball was nice and his logic makes sense..sometimes.

I never said the book didn’t make sense? I said his logic sometimes doesn’t make sense, there’s a difference you know. Not every thought he’s ever had went into that book. Hey Butler, check out knicksboy’s grammar, you’ll have a field day with the last sentence.

Eh, I don’t care too much about Grammar here- It’s not school.

Explain how some of his logic doesn’t make sense? I never heard him say anything really wrong and I’m a fan of his. Name me one NBA thing he said that really didn’t make sense? I’m just curious.

How is it not well thought out; I explain perfectly why I think Pierce would go to the Clippers just because you may think it’s insane or crazy doesn’t mean it’s not plausible, it’s not like I said he would go to the Raptors. I stated their desire to land a big free agent and Pierce’s desire to prove he is a winner. What has Pierce done to prove he was loyal when Ainge blew up the team all the talk was that Pierce wanted out. If Garnett and Allen hadn’t landed with the Celtics Pierce wouldn’t be on the team right now. I don’t think Ainge wants to pay Pierce max money and that’s what Pierce wants right now, the guy is not a saint he’s a professional basketball player. Also, people need to understand what objectivity is, I stated 3 times the post was subjective I feel as if there is a shot that Pierce goes to the Clippers. Shouldn’t really be chastised for an opinion but whatever.

exactly, they went out and got allen and kg, showing that ainge is loyal to winning. Pierce wouldn’t leave, he’s got a ring..should be two if allen (who will leave) didnt suck in the finals (not counting game 2). Ainge got pierce players, and Pierce knows that. He’ll stick around. He’s a Celtic man all the Celtic legends stay with the Celtics that’s why we’re the greatest franchise in the game..it’s part of the Celtic Mystique. Pierce understands that.

I realize you are a Celtics fan and I know plenty of Celtics fans living in Connecticut. I tend to pull for the Celtics as well if they’re not playing the Blazers. And I truly hope that Pierce stays with the Celtics, as I stated with LeBron and Dirk I’m all about team loyalty. The thing is there is a lockout looming and Pierce is clearly on the decline as far as athleticism and the ability to be a game changer he needs to get paid now, and Ainge already gave a big contract to Rondo to assure him he’s the guy now in Boston. In order for Pierce to get paid he’ll have to go somewhere that can give a max contract I’ll give you the two line-ups based on my free agency predictions and the celtics with Pierce and W/o Allen.

    Clippers
    B.Davis, E.Bledsoe
    E.Gordon, R.Butler
    P.Pierce, A.Aminu
    B.Griffin, C.Smith
    C.Kaman, D.Jordan

    Celtics
    R.Rondo, A.Bradley
    J.Salmons, E.House
    P.Pierce, T.Allen
    K.Garnett, L.Harangody
    K.Perkins, G.Davis

Even if the celtics can land John Salmons in free agency the Pierce team with the Clippers looks better on paper than the Celtics team with Pierce.

Blake Griffin isn’t come off of microfracture knee surgery. That’s an injury involving articular cartilage. Griffin suffered a fracture patella, which isn’t even close to being as serious.

Oh really, ur telling me the lakers wouldn’t have offered him a max deal? what leverage are u taking about? being the second GM? He had that no matter what because he was the star, its not like he could just opt out after 1 season. try using facts and not stupidity for your argument next time.
