Now that the draft has taken place, I am wondering where all the Hassan Whiteside = next Dwight Howard, Hassan Whiteside = next Marcus Camby, Hassan Whiteside = next David Robinson threads are. They were all over the place in February. (Kidding, sort of).

The reality is that Sacramento came away from the draft with the most intriguing pair of big men since the Bulls had the Curry and Chandler draft, and they did not need two lottery picks to do so. I have my doubts about Whiteside, but it was a tremendous value for a rebuilding Kings team.

The Raptors also came away with a guy who they reportedly were targeting. I think Alabi is as raw as big men come, but with where he fell afforded Toronto the opportunity to lock him up in a three or four year deal for sub-million salaries with only the first year being guaranteed.

Toronto played the draft extremely safe not mixing themselves up with all the trade ups and trade downs and ended up with 2 solid frontcourt players IDK why raps fans are upset. Both players do not give up buckets and will clog up the middle. Hepititas B or not lets not forget how Alabi was a lock for 22 a week ago and Portland was expected to trade up to 16 to draft him so he is not as raw as you would think. Good SAFE draft IMO and when Free Agency starts Calderon and Turkoglu should be moved.

Okay, would you rather Hassan Whiteside say “I compare myself to KG” or would you rather himself say “I see myself like Hasheem Thabeet for the rest of my career”
