llperezLandry Fields, 6-7, 215lbs, sf Stanford
season stats: 22ppg 8.8rpg, 2.8apg, 1blck, 1.6stls, 49%fg, 34%3ptfg
how he played against big 6 confernce opponents since you all think the pac 10 sucked:
vs Kentucky, Overtime loss, 23pts, 13 rebs, 3 asts, 4 stls
vs oklahoma st, lost by 1 at the buzzer, 22pts, 12 rebs, 4 asts
vs texas tech, 27pts, 11rebs, 2 asts
vs virginia, 25 pts, 13rebs, 3asts, 3 stls
against my bruins he dropped 35pts and 10 rebs
he did his thing all year long and anybody who listened to me knows i represented him all year long. If I were to make an NBA comaprison, it would be Grant Hill. Not the all-star detroit piston hill, but the 37 year old phoenix sun hill. He will bring a great all around game to Ney York and the dude can play ball.

knicksfan7Participantllperez, I have nothing against fields as I mentioned in the other thread, but the Knicks have wings. They needed guard play more than anything. Though Landry Fields as of now is a Knick, I am a fan of his.

llperezi agree. I had the knicks picking pg’s/centers. However, i had to make this when isaw like 3 different people say “who the hell is he”

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI’d much rather take Lance Stephenson.

meisi4Participantfirst of all i don´t dislike landry fields like you may have thought reading my previous posts.
second is i knew the guy although i wasn´t watching him a ton so maybe you just know him better so i just hope your right.the thing just is in my opinon the pick makes zero sence for NY:
– i think his upside is limited and as poor as the knicks roster looks right know i would be looking to draft for talent
– second is that you had i think better players left on the board especially Lawal. i have mixed feelings about stephenson because i think there is much more hype than skill at this ponit. same goes for ebanks but i think drafting 38,39 you take the risk especially if you need talent.
-third is that i didn´t hear of any team being very high on either of the knicks choices so you might have bought them cheap from someone picking later or even get them undraftet if you really wanted himfor those three reasons i think the knicks did a terrible job drafting…
but i really like you presenting fields a bit because i was maybe a bit to hard on the guy i admit…

llperezi have no idea if fields will ever do anything in the nba. Like most 2nd rounders, he is a wild card. I represent him not becasue I think he is a steal or anything, but becasue after he got drafted, i heard a lot of people saying "who"? It blows my mind sometimes how much the west coast gets slept on. Tell me one other conference where a guy can put up his numbers and people act like they never heard of him.

meisi4Participantpossibly right i just think it has a lot to do with expected upside. remember ATL taking Marvin Williams? he put up pretty poor numbers but was thought to have a big upside so he got hyped and people knew him…
all about the hype that comes with talent i guess.
but i think its pretty hard to figure out how stats translate to the nba. remember morrison being a great scorer his last year?

dolla130Participantthey should have taken lance he will be a better pro then feilds and he can play the PG,SG and SF if asked he is a better ball handler then everyone on the knicks and he can pass the ball really well being from NY i have seen a bunch of his games and he is a fan favorite here and would have been a great fit for them but the KNICKS never fail they picked andy rountins who was i think projected as undrafted and landry fields who will probably be a poor mans wilson chandler, every year i drift farther and farther from the knicks because we have the dumbest front office aside from the timberwolves

TRC1991ParticipantFields may not have the upside of lance stephenson but he produced big time in the PAC-10 for 4 years

nuffsaid_2001ParticipantI rather that they have got a nice point gaurd like Mikhail Torrance from alabama he was a nice fit. I dont get the knicks, andy rautins is a fa landry fields is a FA. Dan antonio not a smart man, but he does have a crap load of shooters and I see where he is going with this. 3 point mania no defense, or still thinking he can get lebron james and they will have a lot of shooters around him which makes sense, BUT FORGET THAT GO WITH THE BEST AVAILABLE TALENT… I rather have chosen stanley robinson and marques blakely over these two.

abcdefghijklParticipantFields may have put up big numbers in college, but in pros i don’t think he’ll be very effective. There were also a couple of guys who the Knicks passed on, who could have been more effective than Fields.
