The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantI mean he’s a 20-5-5 guy…Great Slasher and Defender…Making 12 to 15 for 3more years…
The Clippers aren’t going to out bid Memphis,Minnasota,NJ,NY and Miami for Gay and Johnson…And I don’t see another team jumping in and offering a Top 10 SF for a top 10 pick…
Could The Sixers get the 8th pick and say D’Andre Jordan for Andre Iguadola…
The Sixers have depth at Sf with Thaddeus Young,Nocioni and Kapono post Dalembert trade…Not to mention Turner could play some SF in the NBA…
We could use A Top 8 pick to add the best shooter available( Babbit or Henry???) and a young Center to groom as a shot blocker and defender,..
It also clears cap space for some help inside or at back up Point Guard…Just to even out the roster…Not saying sign a big free Agent but whatvever….
My question is …Is this a good move for both teams involved…
The Clippers get A SF and fringe All Star that would help Griffen and Co. out West in their uptempo attack…
The Sixers get 2 young guys to add to the young core of Holiday,Turner,Young,Speights,
Lou Williams and Hawes…Veterans like Brand and Nocioni would be the only big contracts left…Kapono and Green expire and free up 10 million next year…Noci makes 6 million for 2 more years and may go back to Europe before that happens…Brand Is the only real bad contract post Iggy and Sam Trades…The can draft Henry or Babit and have Jordan to defend alongside the young front line of Speights and Hawes…Is Iggy worth the Clippers 8th pick….

TEQU1LAParticipantThat’s funny, no way the Clips would ever include DJ along w/t the 8th pick. The Clips front office have big plans for Jordan he still a bit raw on the offensive end but his rebounding and shot blocking skills are already there. Kaman who was an all star last yr is more likely to be traded than DJ. And if i’m the Clips I rather trade the 8th pick for young not Iggy last thing they need is another bad contract i.e. Baron Davis.

Nugz10Participantwould most likely not be involved in a trade for iggy, he’s still yound and im sure they have visions of pairing him with blake in the future. I dont know about trading for iggy since most of the potential free agents they may be going after would play the same position as iggy and they already have an athletic, young talent at shooting guard with eric gordon plus he’s got a consistent jump shot. Like the previous post i dont think they want to commit any more money for an “athlete” if they really dont have to and can get one at hte 8th pick or through FA.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantThe only reason I think it would not happen is that Sterling wants to go star chasing with the cap room this summer, and won’t give it up for Iguodala until they get turned down by everyone.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantWho’s got any one signing There??? Gay…Not with Memphis and Minnasota hot on his heels,,,…NY would be jumping at Gay Too…Does he really turn down NY over LA…He did play for UConn…east Coast Ties…

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI think LAC shouldn’t use all thier cap space on Iggy. I like him but he is not a #2 option on a good team. He’s more of a #3 option. I think LAC should just go and take Paul George at 8 and then look to pay the max to Rudy Gay.
Rudy Gay is better then Iggy so if LAC likes Gay, Iggy is gonna have to wait.
Iggy is not worth the 8th pick IMO.

chrisd5ParticipantI think you guys are under valuing iggy he is a lockdown defender that raises his game on the big nights against the likes of kobe lebron, he is a 20-5-5 guy even with eddie jordan trying to coach and a team that gave up around him. he is better than any player after 5 in the draft and is not a gamble like all rookies are, no one at 8 will provide a 20-5-5 future. i do agree all teams with cap will not take him on unless they take remaining bad contracts or all the big free agents are gone but by then philly will not be getting the rookie they want. iggy is not and should never have been put as a number 1 option but playing behind a player like griffin would only raise his game and allow him to focus on his strengths

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantThe Suns wanted to trade Amare for Iggy but Amare not resigning was a deal breaker…If Amare said yes to Philly, Iggy would be A Sun…But Amare was a jack ass and trying to make a case for Miami and the South Beach sizzle…Iggy as A LOT of value in the League…he’s not that bad of contract(13 Million per 3 years Left)…And If you give Max Money to Gay(6 years 100 Million plus)…Your Isiah Thomas’s twin brother Mysiah Promise….

TEQU1LAParticipantYeah, Iggy is somewhat overated. The Clips would be smart to keep the 8th pick and add another young piece to the Griffin, Jordan and Gordon core. Aminu, George, Henry might all still be there at 8th so no reason tyo throw money and a top 10 pick away on Iggy.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantGet me a Center…Swap the Contracts…they see what they have in Jordan…We see what we have in Thad…They keep the Pick for a safe pick like Aldrich…or swing big with Whiteside….

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantFirst off, Iggy isin’t worth 13 mil a year. He’s probably worth 8-9 mil. The only reason he got that deal was because teams like Golden State was prepared to offer it to him in 2006. Overpaid because he was the top FA in a weak FA class full of RFA’s.
Second, 20-5-5? Lockdown defender? Questionable to me. If he goes to LAC he’s not going to be a number one option. Do you think that? It’s tougher then you think. He’s going to be the 3rd option behind Davis and Gordan.
If I was LAC, I’ll take Rudy Gay. He’s closer to Scottie Pippen ( in terms of scoring and defense) then Iggy. At 23 years old, I could take Rudy Gay for a max contract if I was LAC. He will be 28 when it expires and he doesn’t have to be the superstar of the team.
Davis- Gordon- Gay- Griffin- Kaman
Jordan- GeorgeThat’s a playoff team in 2010.

TEQU1LAParticipantDon’t forget Sofo… He’s flying down this month to meet w/t the Clips. another solid piece off the bench for next yr.

RicoParticipantI’m not sure Iggy is worth the cap space he would take up plus #8 pick.
And yes, LA is much more awesome than NY. Joe Johnson spends his summer in LA. I think he would pick the Clippers over Knicks.

frijole ghostParticipantthe clips don’t need another one, especially at 10 million bucks…the need a complimentary piece at the 3, and an inexpensive one at that – aminu, george, babbitt – or maybe a josh childress, who would seem like a perfect fit
btw, no reason to get into a bidding war for gay – he’s a bigger gunner than iggy

youngmagParticipantAll these Iggy’s overrated non sense, there isn’t one offense he couldn’t fit he is not a ball hog he doesn’t make bad decisions and he is versatile as hell I would love to have Iggy as my 2nd option and for him to be a 3rd on any team they would be blessed and are probably title contenders if I was the Clips I would do it i a heart beat he evens them out with all them scorers he would complement they nicely…and I’m pretty mad someone said Rudy Gay is better then him smh.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 06/19/2010 - 3:51pm #335668

JNixonParticipantMe too youngmag…Me too…Rudy Gay is a more pure scorer but he has NOTHING else on Andre Iguodala. I don’t know about trading Iguodala, but to say Rudy Gay is a better player is wild to me. Even Iguodala had a bad year. The Clippers don’t really need a ball-dominant player like Gay anyway, they need a defender like Iguodala was every year before this past season. I don’t want him going there though.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantSay it…your just mad this is a good trade idea,,…it helps both teams,,…
